[ Waver was at least more skilled with electronics than most mages where he was from were, but that could be expected from the head of the modern magecraft department. It didn’t take him long to get used to a slightly more advanced phone than he was used to. He largely watched the network for information that would be useful and did not interact… But if this was a student who would be attending the academy, he probably had a duty to introduce himself. Even if he wasn’t particularly good at it, it would be nice to know what kind of people were going to be there beyond Illyana and someone she described as overcautious and boring. ]

I haven’t been given a list of students yet, so I couldn’t tell you about your potential classmates… But I can say I’ll be there as one of the professors, given it’s my prior vocation.

[ Absently, he could almost hear his apprentice’s gentle voice in the back of his head, reminding him that his words hadn’t been a particularly proper introduction. Brushing his hair aside, he made himself continue in light of that realization. ]

I believe it may be something like that. When I offered to assist Illyana with the endeavor of reopening the place, she also mentioned another man who was there as well, already tidying up potentially dangerous items. There may also be others, but I haven’t gotten around looking as yet.

[ While he would say that was due to being focused on setting himself up in a new world… He also wasn’t known to be the most social creature without reason. ]

Regardless, it’s beneficial to see who’s teaching methods resonate best with a student. In my world, students are known to transfer from one department to another as they try to find a professor whose teaching style fits their needs best.

[ He fell silent, studying Yuki over the feed more seriously for a moment. The wrinkles between his brows deepening lightly as he seemed to be trying to get a read on the young man. His introduction, though halted, was polite… And his overall demeanor seemed sensible. More like Gray or maybe Caules, if he had to make a comparison… That was a good thing. So there's more than a few teachers there at the Academy to teach. That makes me wonder how many students there are. I didn't see that many when I was there but that could change.

[And the townsfolk may enroll. That was always a possibility. Learning magic was something he wanted to do when he realized it could be another weapon to add to his arsenal to keep Jacob safe. The guy couldn't even go to the beach without being attacked by one of the sand sharks and fortunately someone had been there to keep him from being killed. But hearing the part about the students and teachers basically resonating with each other kept those darker thoughts at bay for the moment. And then the question made him slightly shake his head.]

It would seem so. I imagine I’ll know more about them once I meet them. [ Hopefully they’re not as quick to delight in teasing like Illyana, but frankly with the magically inclined he knew in his world?… He wasn’t going to hold his breath. ] It might take a little time for numbers to increase, but once everything is in order, I’m sure more than a few people will pop up if it meant as much to the locals as has been suggested by some.

Well… you’ll probably get a better idea of what path you wish to pursue once you have the basics down and learn where you excel the most.
