Open Log!
Who; Yusuke & You
What; Open Log
Where; The park
When; Late February
Warnings; None but shall update as usual if necessary.
The February chill was persisting as one tended to expect, and most may find the warmth and comfort of a hot beverage curled up inside under some cozy blankets more appealing than venturing out into the cold and snow… But not all.
Maybe it was the resistance to ice linked to Goemon, but Yusuke had found himself rather comfortable as he strolled through the park on his morning off. The high collar of his winter coat and gloves was enough to combat the cool breeze, and scattered flurries tossed up in the air now. He had nowhere to be, and while he may be tempted to practice forms and train a little later with his katana to keep sharp for whatever chaos this place threw at them next? For now, he was content to enjoy the atmosphere and admire the scenery of the park covered in snow that glistened in the morning sun.
Sometimes, he mused to himself, the most beautiful works of art were those brought about by mother nature herself… Framing a particular scene of a snowy hilltop with trees dusted in white and birds flitting about the branches he smiled to himself as he committed that scene to memory before continuing on.
At one point or another, the phantom thief found himself inspired to try his hand at working with snow after having seen a few snowmen around the city at one point or another. Snow sculptures seemed an interesting challenge, and he does so love a challenge when it comes to creating. So rather than work on his usual traditional art, he could be seen piling and packing snow as he tried his hand at a little snow sculpting. The subject of his piece being a shadow from memory, one of the more jolly ice based ones.
Stop and say hi! Or if he notices your character, he might stop you and ask for genuine opinions. Good luck.
( Hey! If you have a request, question, or idea for an alternate interaction please let me know! I love to plot! I can also be reached by PM’ing this journal or messaging me on Discord, username: WhimsicalSpook )

"What are they?"
no subject
The question is a welcome one, because he feels particularly pleased with them and has enjoyed making them greatly. So he gestured with a light flourish at his masterpieces. “They’re creatures that hail from a part of my own world. We call them shadows, and this kind in particular is a winter faerie named Jack Frost. Which seemed fitting for a snow-sculpture.”
no subject
"I thought faeries had wings. This one doesn't. Or is it too hard to make with snow?"
It's probably that it's too hard to make. Wow, he asked a stupid question.
no subject
The second half of the question, though, gets a contemplative tilt of his head and considers the work he’s already done. Snow would be an interesting challenge. Again, a creative challenge is never a bad thing. “I don’t know that it would be too difficult, as long as they weren’t too delicate of design. Though working with ice may be easier to carve and shape wings than snow, admittedly.” He finally decided with a nod, making a mental note to add this to his list of things to try at some point for the sake of putting curiosity to rest.
no subject
Except Zack's seen people with wings, people who fly, so he supposes his perceptions of that aren't the best.
no subject
“And when they speak, they tend to make the sound ‘Hee ho!’ Or some variation of that mixed in with their words.” He added with a rather exuberant impression from memory, before he started on another and considered adding something larger to the group.
no subject
HE gets it. Sometimes tv stuff is cool.

"So they're common? We didn't have them in Gongaga."
no subject
“Gongaga is where you’re from, I presume? Are there no unique creatures there or?” He realized that he doesn’t really know Zack all that well, not at all really. Not enough to have made the connection that Aerith and Zack know each other and are from the same world.
no subject
Home gets him smiling though. EVen with what he'd seen for it in the end. Yes, he had pride in where he was from.
"Yeah. It's this sorta marshy town. There's touch-mes around of course."
no subject
Ah, but as he worked to shape more snow, he had to admit he was curious about Zack’s marshy home town. “Touch-mes? I don’t believe I’ve heard of that before myself. What are they, if you don’t mind my asking?” He asked, with a curious glance in Zack’s direction.
no subject
And that had to sound crazy for just about anyone.
"We used to play with them as kids."

He grabbed himself a hot chocolate from Haru's shop and it wasn't long before his zippered boots turned him to the park. It was then that he took a deep breath of air. Yes, that was good even though it was still cold out.
Lowering the hot chocolate, he saw Yusuke building something. So he headed over and gestured to the project with his hot cup. "What are you working on?"
no subject
He looked up and recognized the figure gesturing at his work of art and smiled brightly. “A snow sculpture, or perhaps plural as I may try my hand at a full scene.” He responded with a light tone. “If you meant what manner of being the subject of the sculpture is, that would be a creature from a part of my own world we call shadows. Namely, an ice aligned one called Jack Frost.”
no subject
Blue eyes peered at the sculpture and then looked back at the boy. "So..this Jack Frost isn't friendly?"
no subject
But, yes, Yusuke thinks it’s a lovely day. He hardly notices the nip of the winter breeze at all. “That would be correct, at least outside an odd situation, perhaps.” Like if Ren had come to one of his odd agreements and they became one of his several personas. It was such a curious but impressive ability their leader had. “They have a rather playful and mischievous demeanor, though that’s quite amusing.”
no subject
"Odd situation like what?" Somehow Leon figured he'd better be prepared for this Jack Frost character. Playful and mischevious definitely got his guard up because that sounded like Sora and Yuffie.

Leon sighed and folded his arms over his chest. "This place can cause enough trouble as it is without borrowing trouble from elsewhere."
no subject
Though he did rather hope that if it did ever come to pass that they came across them before, those who did not know how to deal with such creatures. “I have rather noticed that about this place, it can be rather worrying or vexing in equal measures some times. Though things seem rather calm for the moment.” He added thoughtfully, absently hoping he didn’t tempt fate by saying as much.
no subject
"For the moment is definitely the truth." Leon replied with a sigh and a sip of his coffee. "I like the quiet, but we just never know when something is going to happen." And of course he thought about those he would protect as he said that.
no subject
Yusuke hummed, offering a small nod of agreement. “Often the most quiet times are the ones upset the most by some form of calamity. I do like the chance we have had to catch our breath, but you are right. One never knows when things shall change.” But that also made the quiet moments all the more important, he thought.
no subject
So he nodded at the change of topic. "Calamity comes here in waves it seems. Something major happens and then it goes back to quite for awhile." Which was something they'd been enjoying for some time which helped Leon and everyone else he was sure.
"We'll just have to keep our eyes open."
no subject
So he offered a small nod. They would simply have to be watchful and ready for the next big upheaval when it arrived. “Indeed, we shall!”
