Hello. I have been told that this device, as primitive as it is, is a form of open communication to the community of residents here. Who seem to mostly be human. But that is another matter entirely.

I am Lauri-Ell of the Kree. I have some questions that I wish to see if people can provide answers to.

[She sighs. This is all so... strange.]

I have been told that I am stuck here and cannot return to space where my people are. I have been allotted a residence as well. It is much larger than I have ever had to myself. Not like my sister's place, but it's... Empty.

Is there perhaps somewhere that I could acquire cut flowers to liven up the room? Nothing potted.

Oh, and what do people do when they are not in their residences?

[She was. And a creature not even the Kree knew, though there were some situations where there were creatures not UNLIKE her.

The hobbies comment makes her want to sigh. She already did this with the friends of her sister.]

I’m a soldier. I have always served as a soldier. I have done little else. But I like flowers.

[The comment brings about more sadness than he'd expected, but he pushes it aside for now.]

Kree soldiers aren't allowed to have hobbies?

[Not that he'd had many that weren't related to his work, even when he'd been a Turk.]

Why cut flowers?

Soldiers are soldiers. I was a Kree warrior and had to fight the best I could for my people. And then for the Alliance to save the universe.

And because cut flowers are no longer living.

[Even SOLDIERs had hobbies in his experience. Until they were destroyed and no longer people.]

You have something against living flowers?

Given a few days ago, living plants were attempting to kill me, yes, I am not as fond of them today as I was a few months ago.

[No she didn't, did she? Flowers are the closest thing she has to a hobby.]

Maybe there's a florist, but silk flowers would last longer.

Yes, but they would not smell as good. Or be as delicate. Or feel so soft to the touch.

But they wither in days.

I hope it lasts longer than that.

One would hope. However that is not always possible with the state of the world being that which it is.

I have seen many, for my species has interstellar travel. But I suppose it is more accurate to note this is correct for the place where I have lived.

Well, I live in a lot of places. I was made on Hala. I spent some time on Earth with my sister.

[Earth he's heard of from others in another world. Hala is new, though.]

I've been led to believe Earth is peaceful.

Earth’s conflicts are more internalized than many worlds involved in interstellar politics, but conflict finds it.

Of course. No one ever agrees.

Yes. Recently there was quite a bit of conflict on and around Earth. But we have brought it back to peace.

Was the conflict of Earth origin? I'm...having difficulty processing something so large. My world only...started exploring space recently.

No. Not in any way that they should consider it so.

So, other worlds brought their conflicts to them.

That's a shame.

Yes. It was not something my people wished. But Earth had something the Cotati needed to conquer the universe.
