Hello. I have been told that this device, as primitive as it is, is a form of open communication to the community of residents here. Who seem to mostly be human. But that is another matter entirely.

I am Lauri-Ell of the Kree. I have some questions that I wish to see if people can provide answers to.

[She sighs. This is all so... strange.]

I have been told that I am stuck here and cannot return to space where my people are. I have been allotted a residence as well. It is much larger than I have ever had to myself. Not like my sister's place, but it's... Empty.

Is there perhaps somewhere that I could acquire cut flowers to liven up the room? Nothing potted.

Oh, and what do people do when they are not in their residences?

No. I am Kree.

[Perhaps both? Neither? Who knows. She was Kree even though she was from Hala. She wasn’t Halan. Halish? Whatever.]

Yes. We are not from even the same star system as humans are.

Do the Kree not have hobbies?

[She was. And a creature not even the Kree knew, though there were some situations where there were creatures not UNLIKE her.

The hobbies comment makes her want to sigh. She already did this with the friends of her sister.]

I’m a soldier. I have always served as a soldier. I have done little else. But I like flowers.

[The comment brings about more sadness than he'd expected, but he pushes it aside for now.]

Kree soldiers aren't allowed to have hobbies?

[Not that he'd had many that weren't related to his work, even when he'd been a Turk.]

Why cut flowers?

Soldiers are soldiers. I was a Kree warrior and had to fight the best I could for my people. And then for the Alliance to save the universe.

And because cut flowers are no longer living.

[Even SOLDIERs had hobbies in his experience. Until they were destroyed and no longer people.]

You have something against living flowers?

Given a few days ago, living plants were attempting to kill me, yes, I am not as fond of them today as I was a few months ago.

[No she didn't, did she? Flowers are the closest thing she has to a hobby.]

[The voice on the phone is sweet and musical but the words are confusing. It's almost as if the young woman is starting part way through a conversation, one that she'd had started with Lauri-Ell.]

I use the flowers to create lotions and oils for my skin. It takes many flowers to do this but you are welcome to some of them. They are very pretty.

[Syeira mumbles a soft goodbye and then heads towards the Red Buildings common area. She isn't at her apartment but she's close and it's one of the few places that she knows within the city.]

[It takes Lauri-Ell even longer to get there, because she has to leave her own building first, but soon she is arriving. Not that she knows what she is looking for.]

[ Holly listens from her place inside the blanket fort Caelan made for her in his apartment, weighing up whether or not she wants to talk.

Eventually, she goes for the 'yes' option. ]

I dunno about flowers and stuff, but there's a lot'a good places to skate. That's what I like to do most of the time anyways.

Nah, like- skatin', with skates! They're like boots with wheels, and they let'cha get places real quick.

Why would you put wheels on boots? This strikes me as a means by which to ruin one’s balance and propulsion.

Not once you get the hang of it! Y'learn to balance and how to go fast and everythin'. I bet you'd be good at it, since you're real strong and all.

I mean, probably? I dunno about them makin' skates, but I'm assumin' this place sells wheels, or that there's someone who could make a set...maybe we could make you some?

[ Says the child who's never built a pair of rollerblades before in her life. ]

I mean, how hard can it be right?

If you explain the construction, I can attempt to find something like them. Is it truly just wheels on a boot? How do you affix them?

[ Looking at her skates now, it's more difficult to explain than she first realised. ]
