What; Gardening & tattoos
Where; Their house
When; Early March
Warnings; None, will change if needed
Ignis was outside in his back yard. The winds hadn't that bad today and it had gotten a little warmer outside so he took advantage of the warmth and had gone to visit some gardeners on the back of his chocobo. Now he was back and had plenty of coffee at the ready along with his diagrams, and the green notebook that Llewellyn had gifted him with full of notes.
As for his mount, the chocobo was grazing nearby with plenty of fresh greens and water. The bird was always rewarded well for carrying the royal advisor wherever he needed to go. Some would even go so far as to say it was spoiled and Ignis would never tell.
He himself was dressed in black pants and boots, and was wearing a black satin button down shirt with black laces threaded through the sleeves. In preparation to this task, he had rolled them up past his elbows. Various plants sat on the ground in ceramic pots, arranged as he planned to plant them. Taking another sip of coffee, he then put his black gloves on and had his gardening tools ready.
"I daresay this is going to take quite a bit of work today and I need to make dinner tonight, so I'd best get started."

"I daresay this is going to take quite a bit of work today and I need to make dinner tonight, so I'd best get started."

"When we're done," Nida agreed. Which they had barely even begun to do. "OKay, I think this hole is deep enough. I hope?"
no subject
"Yes of course."
But he looked up long enough to see what his husband was referring to and nodded. His mind was going other places with the hole and deep question, but he kept it to himself. So he reached up and handed a small potted plant of parsley to him." "Yes."
And then he went back to his dirty mind and digging.
no subject
"This smells good," Nida said, taking the clump of soil that was the root ball from the pot. "I think we use this to cook. This is... parsley, right?"
He's learning. Slowly but surely he'd been learning, and coming to love this.
no subject
Ignis wasn't sure what wild life might be found around here, but he figured with a garden around, they were going to find out.
"I've a few more plants of that along with some Oregano and Parsley. I thought we might as well have fresh herbs to cook with." And he was looking forward to being able to harvest the little plants too.
no subject
Yes, he was trying to think about how to protect Ignis's precious plants.
"It's a good plan, actually. What do we do if we don't use them fast enough?"
no subject
He had to laugh slightly at Nida's question. "Then I suppose we can simply pawn some of them off on Llewellyn and his husband."
Or he could start taking them to the Lodge. They'd be used up pretty quickly there. But then again maybe it wasn't a bad idea to try and plant a garden there as well.
Of course there might be more than a few fluffy bunnies to deal with there.
no subject
"The Lodge might benefit too I think. You should consider it."

Their own space is a wonder. And Nida had never expected it. He pauses for a moment and looks up at the house.
"I haven't lived in a proper house, that felt like mine, since I was a child. There are all these new memories to make. And it makes my heart swell."
Then he looked to Ignis with a smile.
"Think we could maybe do a berry bush in the corner?"
no subject
"We'll give you plenty of those here." And of course he couldn't help but smile back at the one he was getting. The new idea had him pause a moment and he looked over at it briefly. "Indeed. What kind of berries are you thinking of?"
no subject
He knows they were there when he was a kid.
"Berries in the forest. I remember going into the forest to gather them. I don't remember much more."
no subject
His voice trailed off as he tried to recall what month it had been as he finished covering his one transplanted herb. "I do believe it was somewhere around August. But then again we'll have to see how fast whatever berries we purchase can grow. Still, we can get more than one if you'd like."
no subject
More than one seems good though. He does love berries.
"They are basically my favorite sort of fruit, berries are."
no subject
So he looked up when Nida worked through his thoughts and came to his conclusion. "Well then, we'll go find some blackberry starter plants very soon." By that he meant within the next day or two because the sooner he saw his husband smiling at them the better. And he couldn't help but smile at that thought as he looked at Nida.
"Then we'll make sure to have plenty of berries for you."
should we assume/handwave that Nida has been teaching Ignis to carry Siren? They were thinking of it
"This whole thing, it half makes me think I'm going to find pieces of my past again, by mistake. Memories of my childhood that Siren hasn't taken."
And speaking of...
"Siren would like us to plant some ornamental grass. She likes the sound of the wind in it."
Yes
Ah yes.
"Ornamental grass." he mused. "I've never heard of it, but should we be able to procure some, I will certainly see to it that it is indeed planted with her in mind." And with that, Ignis fixed his green eyes on his husband. "Does she have anywhere in particular that she would like it planted?"
Alright then, hopefully this tag is cool too then.
"Maybe I should stop being a go between. You wanna take her for a little bit?"
IT had been something they'd been talking about, Ignis sometimes carrying her now that he'd learned how to draw her. It really only happened when Nida wasn't working and knew he'd have a chance to see Ignis before his next shift. Ultimately, though, it meant there was less of a mental drain on him. It helped. A lot.
Your tags are always great, never worry
Now would be a different story and he did supply Siren with stories and tales of Noct and the other lads as well as a full description of the Astrals from back home. She was quite sharp and certainly kept him on his toes.
"Let me know when you're ready."
no subject
His hand settled down on Ignis's face, turning Ignis's gaze until their eyes locked. With that he let his defenses down as much as he could, hoping to make it very simple for Ignis to take her, even as his mind stirred her to wakefulness.
"I'm ready."
Guard him well my dear.
He was met with laughter as he felt her slip away.
no subject
Ignis never asked.
Siren always seemed to start off with questions as to how he was, how work was going and all of that. It almost seemed pleasantly formal until she starting the nesting thing.
He leaned forward to give his husband a kiss and smiled. "I do believe it's break time."
no subject
He was liking this, the time with his husband in a little bit of extra nature.
no subject
Siren was going on in his head about different things, this time about the garden and how placements were important and energy and basically giving him a lot of instructions. Coffee input was needed to be able to keep up with her.
no subject
"You've got the look that says she's chattering at you. I'll never get why she's got hte energy for that with you, and she goes all sleepy with me. Maybe she acts like she thinks we need."

Or maybe she's trying to impress Ignis.
