[There's a gust of wind past Leon, and huh, look at that, Tommy just strolling next to him, hands in pockets.]

So why are you heading for the ranch?

[Tommy startled him but Leon took it in stride, even if he was trying to figure out how the hell that just happened. So he was surprised for a moment, but didn't let it get to him because of their dance at the Ball. Still, he didn't turn to look at Tommy even if there was a smirk in his tone.]

Figure I should get a chocobo mount. And with you rushing all the way out here to see me is pretty flattering.

[Tommy just smirks, because thanks for the noticing him here and not freaking too much.]

[Leon laughed slightly.]

I did. So does this mean when I ask you something you're just going to show me instead?

[Well it'd make things infinitely easier in some respects.]

[Tommy, make things easier? Not likely.]

[That made Leon smile slightly.]

[Leon wisely kept his mouth firmly shut on his first answer and shook his head.]

That depends on what it is that you're asking about. If you mean to get people to organize and do what I tell them, that can take some effort.

[He shrugged, thinking of Yuffie in particular.]

But if it's something I'm doing on my own and it doesn't involve anyone else I can move pretty fast.

[His eyes looked pointedly into Tommy's.]

Or is there something in particular you're asking about here?

He shrugged. "Guess you showed me, and you had to emphasize this point, right?"

This was his way of talking about the way Tommy threw that curse word in there.

Tommy rolls his eyes. He didn't show anything yet.

"I'm trying to show you. I'm trying to emphasize it."

Leon chuckled good naturedly at the response.

"I can't remember the last time someone was so determined to show me something or prove something to me."

That was because of his resting disapproval face, but he had to admit, that his heart felt a little bit lighter.

"Yeah, we'll maybe I am tired of being misunderstood. And people who aren't like me tend not to get it."

Can't get it even. They can't perceive time the same way. Or the loneliness.

It took him a minute or two to let the words sink in and once he walked a few more steps in silence after Tommy spoke, he piped up.

"I'm not like you either. But I'm not going to let that stop me."

Stop him from being around or trying to help no matter what the situation was. He knew loneliness too, his was more self imposed to keep from being abandoned or left behind.

Not going to let that stop him? From what? Tommy looks confused.

"I don't think I understand you at all, Bunbun," because yes, that name is going to be a thing. "You should be more clear there. Stop you...?"

There was the slightest smirk of satisfaction even after he heard that damn nickname again. Still, he considered it something of a 'pet name' even if it might not be.

"Not going to stop me from talking to you. Unless that's something you want."

Dude, why are you smirking? Geez, so confusing.

"Nah, I can't deny someone as lost as you the absolute wonders of my company."

"Just like you couldn't at the Ball, right?" There was a half amused tone in Leon's voice and he didn't even want to think about that night too much. Still, it was one that would stick in his memory whether or not he liked it.

"Exactly. You were so fucking clearly bored there. I'm sure I made your night exciting. I'm like that. Exciting."

See, he's good company to have around when you're bored.

"So, uh, why are we walking?"
