Leon was out and about. He didn't pay attention to much to his surroundings, because going to the Coliseum to fight for him was just 'another day at the office'. So he kept his eyes straight ahead and kept moving. There was a fight lined up and he fully intended to lay the person out flat.

As he walked towards his destination, Leon could feel the fire inside of him rolling around and he couldn't wait to use it.

But as he continued, a lone veined leaf got stuck inside of the fluff of his jacket and he pulled it out to look at the offender that dared snag itself in the white lining.

And that's when the memories came out when he looked at it quizzically.

[ There's absolutely nothing weirder than seeing some sort of version of yourself. She tilts her head curiously. ] So...that's the me you know? I like her dress!

[Leon hadn't realized he'd been subjected to this whole memory thing until Aerith piped up. Still he couldn't help but laugh slightly at her words.]

Guess it might be a different version of you or something.

[He couldn't explain it.]

I think so. That's super weird! But...interesting. Makes me wonder what her life was like. How different it was or how similar.

[ She smiles though. ] I'm glad she had such good friends at least.

[heartofalion]

[Leon went to open his mouth, but anything he said would be assuming their lives were similar in which he was somehow pretty sure wasn't the case. So he tried a different approach with her.]

You two would definitely get along.

[cetrary]

Thinking about getting along with myself is kinda weird. How long have you two known each other?

[heartofalion]

This whole situation is weird.

[He was laughing it off but deep down he still couldn't piece it together.]

I'd known her since she was little. Always trying to be nice to people who I thought she was wasting her time on.

[That statement included himself.]

Weird is a good way to describe it.

[ She laughs at that, because well, weirdly it does sound like her. ]

That so? Who did you think she was wasting her time on?

[heartofalion]

[As half happy as he was that she agreed with him (because he didn't like when the 'other' her didn't) Leon wasn't about to give himself away here.]

Probably mostly everybody she knew. She was always kind and level headed. She could disagree with just a look and that was more than enough.

I hope that I have people that talk about me that nicely.

Going to note that there's some weird thing going on with memories on the network. Including some of yours. And then I want to applaud you. The Commander wishes he had your snark game. Actually, no, he probably doesn't. Squall would have just said 'whatever' rather than sassing people, but you seem pretty good at it with that Cloud guy.

[There was a nod.]

So I'm noticing.

[Still he had to smirk at the way Nida referred to this other Squall as commander. So this was what it was to have the shoe on the other foot so to speak since he had the opposite issue with this guy. But he had that issue with Aerith and Yuffie where he knew them and they had no clue who he was.]

I still say whatever. But I had to get better with communicating.

[Because of the aforementioned ladies. Aerith wouldn't go anywhere and gave him those eyes until he talked more, and Yuffie would make fun of him.]

[Listen, he's got to be fair to this guy who has already established he's not the Commander. So it's better not to confuse them when he can avoid it.]

Well, you're a lot better than he is. It's nice, actually, getting to hear you use your voice and not fearing the glares.

[For a moment he wasn't sure what to say. Those were things he did a lot of when he was younger but with two women as just about constant companions, he couldn't always get away with it.]

Uh..thanks I think.

[It almost sounds like a compliment and he wasn't sure what to do with it.]

[It's a compliment and somehow Nida thinks maybe Leon is as bad as Squall at handling them, so he waves the thank you away.]

Just saying. So, what were those things you were fighting.?

They're called heartless and they're attracted to the darkness in people's hearts and there's darkness within every heart.

[He didn't want to get into the whole thing about invasions and all that so he tried to keep it simple.]

They're not here though.

[Darkness in every heart? Yes, Nida would agree with that. He didn't think it was wrong to say that. So many people had darkness in their hearts, and he'd seen that.]

Ya, we might be in trouble otherwise.

[He shrugged.]

Doesn't seem like this world has imports from our worlds for the most part.

[Cloud doesn't trust his memory on a good day, but he's pretty sure he'd remember being in a place like that, and trusting his back to someone else.]

How do you know me?

[Leon recognizes that voice immediately and fortunately thanks to Aerith he doesn't expect much if anything.]

I know a version of you back home. Not sure if it's alternate timelines or worlds or something along those lines.

A version of me?

[Alternate timelines? Or maybe he's from Cloud's future...now that they've rewritten it.]

Oh. Okay. [A beat.] Who are you?

[heartofalion]

It's the only way to describe it that I can think of. I know you, Aerith and Yuffie from back home, yet none of you know me. There's this guy I met who knows me from his world and I have no clue who he is. So that's the only guess I've got.

[He shrugged.]

Name's Leon.

[mostlycloudy]

Okay, Leon.

[Maybe it had something to do with everything they'd changed, the influence they'd had on the world, or the worlds. Wherever Sephiroth had taken him, it seemed as though there were many, not just theirs.]

What were those things we were fighting?

[heartofalion]

[Somehow it was weird to hear Cloud say his name. Just..odd and unexpected. The question had him shrug. Somehow he hadn't expected the 'we' to come in, but he wasn't going to mention it.]

Heartless. They look harmless but they've been known to consume people's hearts.

[mostlycloudy]

Peoples' hearts?

[They didn't even look like they'd be equipped to eat hearts...or anything.]

[heartofalion]

[Leon nodded.]

Then you become one of them.
