Sooooo...[ Aerith's face comes on the camera with a bright smile. ] I was thinking we could all use something a little fun to do, so how about a little party? [ She pauses and then puts one finger up in the air and shakes her head. ] Wait, no, not a party [ forgive her Watts, it's not a party! ] a potluck get together. [ She told him she was going to do it. He'd better be prepared. ] I have decorations thought up and a location already, all I'd need is some people that might be willing to bring some food. That's the best part of a potluck right? Everyone bringing a dish of their own.
I was thinking maybe people could bring something from their own world. I had a talk with a friend a bit ago about how similar but different our homes are and maybe this would be a neat way to share that with each other. If you'd like to come, let me know so I have a general idea of what to expect. I'm thinking of holding it in a week.
That should be plenty of time, right? [ She thinks so at least. She falls silent for a second and, anyone that knows her well may notice her expression gets a bit more sad before she forces a smile again. ] Oh! I'm also going to start selling potted flowers so that people can take some of them home with them and maybe grow them in their own place. I already have two helpers to help me bring them to the shop, so we'll have them set up soon. Drop on by!
[ With that she moves to turn the thing off only to stop midway through. Anyone who knows her really well may notice that her expression drops for just a second before she speaks again. ]
I was also wondering if anyone else has been having any...[ no, she doesn't really want to mention that she's had some nightmares here and there. Hmm, how else to phrase this. ] Has anyone else experienced anything weird? It's been really cold at this one spot in my garden and at the shop but...it's not really...it doesn't feel quite natural. The flowers aren't really happy in that one spot either, even if they're still growing.
II. June Showers bring some Flowers
Aerith had made her announcement from her little garden that she'd only brought a few people to. It wasn't that she wanted to hide it from people, but more that sometimes she just wanted a place to be alone. Everyone wanted that now and then, right? The people closest to her like Llewellyn and Cloud knew where it was and how to open the gate. Today she'd planned on bringing a few potted plants back with her in a wheelbarrow to the shop but things didn't always go as planned.
Sadly, the flowers in the pot she'd put together had ended up in one of the cold spots she'd spoken of and they seemed to have started to wilt at the tips of their petals.
"Oh no. You poor thing," she frowned and set it down and let out a sigh. Only for her exasperation to grow as rain started to fall down on her head. She looked up with frustration at the sky. "You looked just fine a second ago!" Clearly, telling the sky it hadn't looked like it was going to rain is a very helpful thing to do.

So... Rather than responding to the feed (there was no question that he’d be attending the potluck when it happened anyway), Llewellyn put aside what he was working on at the house for now and made his way to her personal garden that she’d clearly broadcasted from if the backdrop of the video was anything to go by. He was glad he knew how to get by the gate now, fussing with the latch to let himself in.
“Mm... Aerith? Are you still here?” He called out, frowning as rain started to fall from the sky. Where had that rain even come from?? It seemed Aerith was of a similar mind, if her frustrated tone was anything to go by. “I guess she is here.” He murmured before finding his way to where she’d been fussing with potted plants in the wheelbarrow she was using to transport to her shop.
“Need some help?” He asked, taking off his own hat and plopping it on her head awkwardly to shield her from some of the shower.

What she hadn't really expected was for him to actually come down. Thinking back she probably should have expected it, but hindsight is always easier to see than predict. She heard the clanking of the gate before she actually saw him and it reminded her that she should get a special set of keys for him just incase she wasn't around anymore. Or in case she was sent home like he'd been. Someone needed to be able to get in fully in case something happened. That was kind of of a depressing line of thought though and adding depressed to wet wasn't a fun idea.
"Still here," she said with a little smile as water dripped from her face. She shook her head (splashing a bit of water around) and chuckled as he put the hat on her head. "You didn't have to give me your hat! Buuut now that your here..." she looked over at a few flowers that were in a patch with a shovel next to them. "I was getting ready to transfer those into pots before the rain started...." now what was she going to do?

One should always expect Llewellyn to show up when he thought there might be a reason to, especially now that he was adjusting to his life here again. Enough time had passed that he was starting to get out of his own head and pay proper attention to the people rather than the work he used to keep himself distracted.
“No, but it looks as though you’re having a bit of a day and being drenched seems like a rather, uh- unfortunate icing on that unwanted cake.” He responded with a small frown, crouching next to the flower patch that she was about to transfer when the skies opened up. They’d have to act fast before the ground soaked up too much water. Then they’d be dealing with a supremely muddy mess to get them from the ground to pots. “Do you have a tarp or anything we can shelter them with to avoid the mm… downpour from making this task impossible?” he asked, picking up the shovel himself. Otherwise it might be smarter to wait out the rain before attempting it, but she seemed more than a little disappointed by that prospect, given her earlier dismay that he’d overheard.

"Nope," a little awkward giggle escaped her lips and she shook her head. "That would have been a good thing to keep on hand though, huh? The showers have been more frequent." She titled her head a bit to the side and looked at him. "Do you think that's a good thing? I've heard showers are common in some areas during this time of the year. Maybe this place is becoming more fixed?" Even she recognized that might have been an overly positive way to look at things. She let out a sigh and looked over at her project and then shook her head.
"Guess I'll just have to come back tomorrow." There was no way to work with it now, not without a tarp and not with how wet things had already gotten. Honestly, she might have tried if someone else hadn't shown up, but she wasn't going to make someone else go through that. "I'm sorry, it looks like you came out here only to get wet. Maybe we should both head to the Lodge." It was the closest place she could think of to take a bit of shelter.

At her apology, though, he shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, Aerith. I was going to stop by regardless of the weather, after I saw your message on the network.” He responded with a shove, reluctantly putting the shovel aside and straightening again. The lodge was the nearest place to the garden, and at least they could get in out of the elements and maybe get something to eat while they waited it out. “The lodge is an excellent idea. Let’s get in out of this rain and see about uh- drying up a bit. I’ll even buy lunch, hm?” He added with a gesture, they could talk easier there, anyway.

"You tell it, Aerith." For all he knew, the clouds would listen to her protest their downpour. "Can I give you a hand with anything?"

"It didn't look like it was going to rain just a second ago," she sighed. "Now what am I going to do today?" The question came with a look of expectations thrown in his direction, as if she were waiting for him to potentially suggest something they could do together.

"I was stopping by to see if you wanted to grab some lunch in town, but if not, then..." And he turned toward the door as though to leave. It had taken a while of knowing her, but he was starting to realize she was rarely serious, and he could play along, at least a bit.

"You did? Well, who would I be to say no to that?" After all this might be the very first time he'd ever really come directly to invite her somewhere. She trotted after him quickly and then moved in front of him. "Wait! Are you really just going to leave me just like that?"

That's a good idea.

[But that's actually not the whole reason he responded.]
That sounds like a ghost, the problem with your garden, I mean. Want me to swing by and give it a look?
no subject
[ She frowns deeply at that. ]
A ghost problem...?

[He nods slightly.]
I used to investigate hauntings a lot, back home, and considering how haunted this whole place is, it's not out of the question, yeah?

[Her head tilts to the side, sending waves of wheat-colored hair over her shoulder. Inesa's expression is curious but somehow retains its usual warmth and openness too.]
Perhaps I can sense something?
no subject
I wouldn't say no to someone coming by though. Thouuugh it just started to rain, so I think I'll have to take a rain check!
no subject
Okay! [She doesn't mind the rain but she can understand others not wanting to get wet.] I will check around the city as well. Perhaps there is something to it. Stranger things have happened.

If you do find anything, let me know okay? Though don't go too far out of your way!

Hey! Heard about the potluck thing. Sounds fun. Do you already have things that people are bringing? I can make chili or something. Not sure what you already have planned. I can cook a few different things now. [Most of the dishes he knows are beef-related.]
