[The feed turns on and five different foods appear, along with a red drink and lemonade nearby.]

Well hello there, I hope this broadcast finds all of you well. As you can see, I've been rather busy creating new menu items to try.

[There's a brief pause.]

But before I introduce them, if you feel like sharing your own recipes from home I am more than happy to work on recreating them here. Now then.

Left to right, I have honey muffins, crab croquettes, a futo-maki roll, and I've procured the ingredients for a pizza which was a rather interesting adventure.

[Of course the pizza was made with a certain boy in mind that lived with him and one he made melted cheeses for all of the time.]

For dessert I've made an Apple strudel, and you can wash it all down with this concoction called Pixieberry tea. Do keep in mind it was made with strawberries which can be substituted for cherries. And if that's too much, I do have lemonade handy.

So do bring your appetites if you make it out this way to try these dishes.

I won’t, I don’t wanna have an accident with people’s stuff.

[ Mono took his job very seriously, actually. He was very responsible, especially when Tommy had trusted him with more overtime. ]

[ And once the boy was done for the day, his messenger bag empty, he made his way to the lodge with a quick step… Because he was done work and he wanted sweets! ]

Alright.

[Ignis happened to be passing by the door when he saw Mono come up. With a smile he opened the door for the boy and smiled.]

Glad you could make it.

[monochromatically]

Glad I could too! [ He chirped as the door was opened for him. The boy hurried inside so Ignis wouldn’t have to hold the door for long, eyes wandering to see what was around before settling back on Ignis. ] You still workin on stuff?

[faithfulsupport]

[Ignis smiled.]

I suppose at work, I'm always working on something.

[He did it at home too, his mind constantly worked. And it was only through either Nida or Mono's intercession that it focused on something other than work or whatever project he was thinking of.]

[monochromatically]

[ Mono let out one of his whispery little laughs at that. ]

Yeah, I guess that kinda is what work means, huh? What kinda stuff you working on now?

[ His eyes are wandering, of course, for the pastries. ]

[faithfulsupport]

[Ignis always considered it a small win when he could hear that adorable little laugh.]

Quite. But I am working on other meals, I simply haven't had time to have them taste tested. However, in the meantime I've gotten you a plate ready.

[And that had him duck around a huge bowl to produce the full plate of food. And after that, a dish of the pastries appeared along with a drink.]

That should get you started.

[monochromatically]

[ The fact that Ignis already had anticipated this and brought out a full plate of food is very Ignis. The boy would have easily just eaten the pastries offered first, but he’s not so irresponsible to ignore other food as well. That would be a foolish waste where he came from without even factoring in how good the food Ignis made was. ]

Wow, this stuff looks really good too. I like taste testing; it seems like the best kinda test you could get!

[faithfulsupport]

[He laughed a little, delighted to hear those words.]

I'm happy to hear that you approve. But let's get you some flatware to start assisting you in getting this food into your stomach.

[Ignis made it his mission as long as he was here to keep this boy and his husband fed although he looked out for others and cared for them as well. However, Nida and Mono took priority. So he set a napkin and silverware out for the boy as the food was set in place.]

There you are.

[monochromatically]

[ As if the child could ever disapprove of the feasts that Ignis presented him with. There was no way!! But he does wait patiently enough as Ignis moved to get cutlery. He had gotten slightly better with his table manners over the last couple of years, rather than digging in with his hands like he would have back in his world. ]

[ He started to enjoy the meal with gusto after that. Running around delivering messages and stuff all day made you hungry! ]

I dunno how you make such good stuff. It’s like your special power!

[ A very good special power, in the boy’s opinion. ]

[Ignis busied himself with small tasks to that Mono had time to eat. But he was of course happy to see the food disappearing. And as he kept himself busy, Mono's words about having a special power was more praise than Ignis thought he deserved. And of course it warmed his heart.]

I've been at it for quite some time. But I'm always happy to have the food I serve meet with your approval.

[monochromatically]

How long’s that?

[ He figures he might as well ask. It was something the boy had been wondering for a while, since Ignis and most of the other adults here were very different from the ones he was used to. ]

Yeah? I’m glad it makes you happy, ‘cause I like getting to try everything.

[faithfulsupport]

[Ignis took a breath as he thought.]

Since I was a boy. the king I served liked this particular dessert and I attempted to recreate it several times simply to make him smile.

[And then he himself smiled at Mono.]

As it so happens, I'm working on some more Autumn themed recipes at the moment. Shall I sign you up to try them?

[monochromatically]

So you learned ‘cause you wanted to make someone happy. That’s kinda a good reason to learn.

[ He nodded, smiling a little as he dug back into his food. Seemingly satisfied with the answer, at least in the way that it made sense to him. ]

Yeah!! I wanna try whatever you make!

[ He agreed at the question with a firm nod, because it would be silly to mess out on the good food. Fall stuff was usually pretty tasty after the last couple he’d been around for. ]

[Ignis couldn't help but smile.]

Yes, it was to make a young prince happy.

[And then Mono seemed to be pretty cheerful about Ignis cooking more. As he'd said at camp one night so long ago, that he loved to see smiles on the faces of the people that he cooked for. Well this boy was a prime example of that statement.]

I will be requiring your taste test assistance in a few weeks then, if that is suitable for you.

[monochromatically]

[ Mono offered a vigorous, eager nod. ]

Yeah! I don’t got much going on, so just let me know and If I’m not working I’ll come try all the foods!

[faithfulsupport]

Other than work I suppose?

[Ignis smiled.]

I will certainly inform you, but I'm sure you'll see me cooking away at home trying these out so that you can let me know how they are.

[monochromatically]

Uh-huh!

[ Mono liked watching Ignis cook back at home best, honestly. It was easier to watch and he was always a little more comfortable. ]

Okay, I’d like that a lot.

[faithfulsupport]

[He nodded with a smile at Mono's enthusiasm. The boy might not know it, but he was definitely a motivation for Ignis.]

Is there anything from home you'd like me to make? Some meal that you loved and can't seem to get your hands on here?

[monochromatically]

[ Mono took a minute or two to answer that, less because he had to think about it and more because he knew this was one of the many things that was not normal about his world. ]

No. There’s nothing like that there. People don’t really do stuff like this where I’m from.

[faithfulsupport]

I see.

[Ignis was somehow sorry the boy hadn't had a lot of experience with people cooking for him.]

Then what sort of food did you have back home? You must've eaten something.

[monochromatically]

[ Mono poked at his meal a bit, thinking of his world and what could be found there and where. ]

Ate what I could find, I guess. Stuff that hadn’t gone completely bad, so you could eat around the bad bits. If I was kinda lucky, I might find some canned stuff… [ The canned goods were always nice, they usually tasted okay. But the boy was practical, and beggars couldn’t be choosers, so you ate what you found. ] Then there was nothing in the tower except the thing. Guess I didn’t need to eat anymore after that.

[faithfulsupport]

Canned goods. I see.

[Ignis felt bad that the boy didn't have proper nutrition back in his world. Canned food was all well and good if that's all one had, but still. And the tower thing had him confused but maybe Mono wouldn't want to discuss not needing to eat anymore. Whatever that meant.]

Well then. You are always welcome to look through the cookbooks with me and decide on some dinners if you like.

[monochromatically]

[ Mono would find explaining it a touch difficult, and the matter of what happened in the tower was not a happy topic. There was a lot of fear of what was to become of him, and what people would think if they properly understood. So, he didn’t offer more information on it for now, focusing on the more positive offer. ]

Yeah? That’d be kinda fun. You can tell me what stuff is and if it’s good for dinners. [ And he liked being helpful, so it would be a good thing for the two of them. ] Maybe you could show me how to make some stuff at home? So I can help make dinner sometimes.

[ Mono had often wondered what all went into the delicious things Ignis made and how it worked in general. Plus… It looked like fun, sometimes. ]

[Hearing these plans thoroughly delighted Ignis. Cooking alongside the boy would be great fun and a great way to share this hobby. The other could put his reading skills to use and learn to measure and all of that.]

I can do that. And of course when one is the chef, they are the ones to decide which ingredients go into the dish or not. So if there's something that you don't like in it, it can certainly be omitted or not purchased at the market.

[monochromatically]

That sounds great! Maybe next day we don’t work, we could do stuff at home?

[ Mono chirped with one of his clumsy little grins. He really thought it might be fun, and it was twice as good if it made Ignis happy! ]

Really? Um… But if you leave stuff out of a recipe, doesn’t that make the recipe not work?

[ The boy asked curiously, not understanding that some things could be omitted or substituted. He had a lot to learn! ]
