[The feed turns on and five different foods appear, along with a red drink and lemonade nearby.]
Well hello there, I hope this broadcast finds all of you well. As you can see, I've been rather busy creating new menu items to try.
[There's a brief pause.]
But before I introduce them, if you feel like sharing your own recipes from home I am more than happy to work on recreating them here. Now then.
Left to right, I have honey muffins, crab croquettes, a futo-maki roll, and I've procured the ingredients for a pizza which was a rather interesting adventure.
[Of course the pizza was made with a certain boy in mind that lived with him and one he made melted cheeses for all of the time.]
For dessert I've made an Apple strudel, and you can wash it all down with this concoction called Pixieberry tea. Do keep in mind it was made with strawberries which can be substituted for cherries. And if that's too much, I do have lemonade handy.
So do bring your appetites if you make it out this way to try these dishes.

I've been at it for quite some time. But I'm always happy to have the food I serve meet with your approval.

[ He figures he might as well ask. It was something the boy had been wondering for a while, since Ignis and most of the other adults here were very different from the ones he was used to. ]
Yeah? I’m glad it makes you happy, ‘cause I like getting to try everything.

Since I was a boy. the king I served liked this particular dessert and I attempted to recreate it several times simply to make him smile.
[And then he himself smiled at Mono.]
As it so happens, I'm working on some more Autumn themed recipes at the moment. Shall I sign you up to try them?
no subject
[ He nodded, smiling a little as he dug back into his food. Seemingly satisfied with the answer, at least in the way that it made sense to him. ]
Yeah!! I wanna try whatever you make!
[ He agreed at the question with a firm nod, because it would be silly to mess out on the good food. Fall stuff was usually pretty tasty after the last couple he’d been around for. ]
no subject
Yes, it was to make a young prince happy.
[And then Mono seemed to be pretty cheerful about Ignis cooking more. As he'd said at camp one night so long ago, that he loved to see smiles on the faces of the people that he cooked for. Well this boy was a prime example of that statement.]
I will be requiring your taste test assistance in a few weeks then, if that is suitable for you.
no subject
Yeah! I don’t got much going on, so just let me know and If I’m not working I’ll come try all the foods!
no subject
[Ignis smiled.]
I will certainly inform you, but I'm sure you'll see me cooking away at home trying these out so that you can let me know how they are.
no subject
[ Mono liked watching Ignis cook back at home best, honestly. It was easier to watch and he was always a little more comfortable. ]
Okay, I’d like that a lot.
no subject
Is there anything from home you'd like me to make? Some meal that you loved and can't seem to get your hands on here?
no subject
No. There’s nothing like that there. People don’t really do stuff like this where I’m from.
no subject
[Ignis was somehow sorry the boy hadn't had a lot of experience with people cooking for him.]
Then what sort of food did you have back home? You must've eaten something.
no subject
Ate what I could find, I guess. Stuff that hadn’t gone completely bad, so you could eat around the bad bits. If I was kinda lucky, I might find some canned stuff… [ The canned goods were always nice, they usually tasted okay. But the boy was practical, and beggars couldn’t be choosers, so you ate what you found. ] Then there was nothing in the tower except the thing. Guess I didn’t need to eat anymore after that.
no subject
[Ignis felt bad that the boy didn't have proper nutrition back in his world. Canned food was all well and good if that's all one had, but still. And the tower thing had him confused but maybe Mono wouldn't want to discuss not needing to eat anymore. Whatever that meant.]
Well then. You are always welcome to look through the cookbooks with me and decide on some dinners if you like.
no subject
Yeah? That’d be kinda fun. You can tell me what stuff is and if it’s good for dinners. [ And he liked being helpful, so it would be a good thing for the two of them. ] Maybe you could show me how to make some stuff at home? So I can help make dinner sometimes.
[ Mono had often wondered what all went into the delicious things Ignis made and how it worked in general. Plus… It looked like fun, sometimes. ]
no subject
I can do that. And of course when one is the chef, they are the ones to decide which ingredients go into the dish or not. So if there's something that you don't like in it, it can certainly be omitted or not purchased at the market.
no subject
[ Mono chirped with one of his clumsy little grins. He really thought it might be fun, and it was twice as good if it made Ignis happy! ]
Really? Um… But if you leave stuff out of a recipe, doesn’t that make the recipe not work?
[ The boy asked curiously, not understanding that some things could be omitted or substituted. He had a lot to learn! ]
no subject
Let me know when you have your next day off, as I can certainly work around your schedule.
[However, when Mono asked his next question, Ignis had to laugh slightly.]
Recipes are mere suggestions for ingredients. Yes the original has whatever was needed to ensure a complete and no doubt tasty dish. But substitutions can be made and the dish will still come out quite well I've found.
no subject
[ The boy agreed with a smile, looking forward to a fun afternoon with Ignis next time they both had time! The boy tilted his head though as the man continued. ]
Wow, I didn’t know that…! So you can add other stuff instead and it’ll still work. That’s kinda neat.
no subject
Well this is what experimenting is for. You can certainly follow a recipe, but if you change a few things here and there you can make it more to your own liking. You are the one eating the food after all, correct?

We can take our time and I purchased plenty of books for you to peruse at your leisure.
no subject
[ The boy agreed with one of his clumsy half smiles. ]

Speaking of, we can take a trip to the market later on this week. I'm told that there's a bookshop that's opening up there.
no subject
[ Mono liked the idea of that, so a trip to the bookshop would be fun too. ]
(ooc: I'm still cursed with the slow, but I am trying to start thinking of December. Would you like me to add Mono and Ignis maybe doing cooking lessons with a holiday cookie kinda thing on my list of top-levels to work on for then? Also if there's anything else you want with the other characters I can try to think of that stuff too <3)
no subject
[ooc: Yes! I definitely understand the whole slow thing! Yes, I would love to see Mono and Ignis baking christmas cookies. I was going to post that tonight, but if you want to post it I will wait! I would also like to see more of Waver & Terra if possible? Also moar Yusuke please!]
(no subject)
do you want to wrap this then?
Yeah, sure thing!
