Good news all! I finally got the little lovelies that are going to be living with Llewellyn and Pretzel and myself. Here, let me see if I can get them to pay attention for a picture.

[And yes, he's definitely included an image of not one or two, but three baby bunnies]

Sweetpie is the white one, Sugarbeet is the dark one, and Flopsy is the slightly gray one. The breeder had all three and my research said that it was better to have at least two for company but then I'd have to have left one behind and I just couldn't!

Look at them. Aren't they the sweetest little ones? Look at their faces!

They are SO SOFT. You should pet them. I'm supposed to help them acclimatize to being handled so that when they are older I can collect their fur for yarn. Who wants to pet the babies?

Oh yes. That's exactly what I thought. They are so soft. Which is of course the point. Their fur is so soft, it's like very high end wool. And I gather it when they are older and will make yarn of it.

[The baby bunny does allow Mono's gentle stroking, though it goes very still for a moment. When it decides this is fine it goes back to eating.]

[ Mono had been a little worried the baby bunny was going to be afraid of him and run away… But it kept eating! So it was okay!! Honestly, that went a long way for his own confidence… he might have needed this a little. ]

And that doesn’t hurt ‘em at all?

[ He asked at the mention of gathering their fur for yarn. ]

No, they will be happy for it. When you do it they have so much extra fur. They make super thick fur to keep warm in the winter. And in the spring it is too warm. So you get it off of them.

Ohhh! I guess that kinda makes sense. It would be like wearing your warm winter stuff when it’s gotten warm out.

[ The boy commented quietly as he focused more on the bunnies, but glad to hear that it wasn’t going to hurt the little fuzzy creatures. ]

That is quite correct. It is like a second coat that grows out, and it is very soft and dense. Apparently they just look very fat.

[The other two bunnies start to approach now, happy to get some food while their sister distracts the danger.]

[ Mono felt another little clumsy smile cross his face as the other two bunnies started to slowly approach, but he focused on the one comfortable with him. He didn’t want to startle the others. They needed a chance to get snacks too before he tried to pat them. ]

Kinda like how big and squishy you look if you got all your winter clothes on, huh? What kinda stuff are you gonna make when you do?

Exactly! Fluffy like those coats are fluffy. And I think I will make wonderfully soft sweaters and mittens for when the next winter comes.

[monochromatically]

[ Mono considered the idea and nodded, liking the sound of Rhy’s idea. ]

I bet they’d be super soft sweaters and mittens for sure. People’ll like that when it gets cold.

Oh yes, the very softest. And super warm. I intend to make many good things from them. But they will grow rather large, and I will use the extra fur to make so many pretty things for the people I love.

That sounds like a really good plan.

[ The boy smiled a little, looking down at the bunnies and wondering just how big they were going to get. ]

If I you ever need any help feeding or patting them again, I can help if you want!

I would gladly accept help whenever you are willing to spare it. You're not as big, so you won't scare them as much.

Okay, then I’ll visit whenever you want some help. As long as I’m not at work or practicing stuff.

[ Mono wasn’t the busiest kid outside those two things. So adding visiting bunnies would be a fun way to pass some time. ]

On my own? If that’s okay sometimes, I wouldn’t wanna visit at a bad time.

It would be okay sometimes. They deserve someone friendly attention and days can be long for me and my husband.

I guess that’s true, if they’re here alone and all. Okay, maybe after they get used to me a little!

[He smiles and taps the gate]

Come on. Let's get you out of here and wash your hands. They'll probably need some time to rest and eat now.

[monochromatically]

[ Mono looked up as he heard the light tapping on the gate, before nodding. ]

Oh, yeah, that’s probably right.

[ With a last soft stroke to a bunny’s head, he smiled his clumsy tilted little grin. ] Bye, bunnies. [ He said in a hushed tone, before carefully getting up to avoid scaring them and to sneak back to the gate and out of it. ]

[Rhy was quick to open and close the gate and he smiled at Mono for his promptness.]

I'm glad you did. Come on, we'll get you cleaned up and send you on your way.

[ He agreed, following Rhy towards the house to wash his hands before heading on his way. ]
