Terra is seen on top of a roof, hammering a few nails in. A light rain is falling at the same time, but he's not about to let it bother him. Moving carefully, he grabs another shingle and begins to get that into securely into place.

While Jacob had been here, he'd taken Terra with him to work on some projects, and the keyblade wielder had learned a lot working side by side. Sure a lot of it was after hours or on days off, but the more he learned, the better shot he had to do this on his own. They had spoken about working together on this particular house, but unfortunately the guy had gone home and now Terra was left to try and recall everything.

What he didn't remember, he asked Garry for at the carpentry shop since he maintained his job there. And he found himself doing more of the hands on work there that Jacob used to do instead of just being a cashier.

A few more hammerings, and Terra moved slowly down the side of the roof and jumped down onto the ground. Scooping up his camera that he hadn't realized was on, he started filming some of the house on the inside.

"I got a pretty good start, think I'm getting the hang of this. Not sure what to do about furniture though."

I learned it all here from where I work, but it has kept me pretty busy.

[Although the guy that introduced him to the shop and all of that had left Aterat unfortunately.]

I'll probably just buy the furniture, but it does look like I'll have to ask around and see what goes where later on. Do you have any recommendations?

I can probably give you the address for a couple of the places I purchased things from for the workshop, if that helps. There were one or two places that had things already made for sale, though I don’t know what styles would be your preference.

[ The layout of the place reminded him of some of the places he visited while in Fuyuki, so he didn’t know what his usual furnishing ideas would be that useful. ]

That would be great if you wouldn't mind.

[He really can't say there's a particular style of furniture that he's looking for because this all so very new to him.]

It’s no trouble. I’ll get the addresses and send them along later. They should be able to provide the basics, and maybe make some recommendations if you ask. I imagine you’ll want a table set, and some chairs or a sofa at least.

[ Waver’s priorities are places to set things down and a sofa… Truly a master of interior design. ]

A table and chairs, a sofa and I have to look for a bed too. They should have one or know where to get one you think?

[He planned to invite people over, so a table and chairs were definitely high on his priority list.]

[ Right. People generally sleep in beds every night, not just when they happen to be in a space with one instead of a sofa. Awkward pause is awkward, then a beat later he responds. ]

Ah, yes. I believe they should be able to help with a bed. I think at least one place had bed frames to choose from.

[Terra smiled.]

I've seen the carpentry place make some pretty fancy things like that. I never thought to ask what they were for. But I'll definitely check these things out.

That’s always an option too, especially if you don’t find everything you're looking for at the local shops. It could be commissioned from them instead.

[ Knowing his sister, she would probably go that route. She was used to finer things, given her upbringing… ]

I’m sure you’ll have a better idea of what you prefer once you start picking things out and moving furniture in.

Aren't commissions kinda expensive?

[Asks the guy who's been hoarding all his coin. But the man's words made sense and so he nodded.]

Ya I'm gonna start looking soon.

[And then all the decision making.]

Unfortunately, that would be the one drawback, yes.

[ Which was why Waver probably wouldn’t go with that option himself, but he was mentioning it to be helpful and give Terra the full list of options he might have. ]

[Terra nodded. Even if he did do a commission, he had no idea what to ask for, so he'd just go around town and see what he could find out on his own before making any sorts of decisions like that.]

That's okay, I'll just have to see what's out there first.

[The last part was touching though and he nodded.]

Sounds like a solid plan to start with, see what’s there and decide after the fact.

[ He was an antisocial, awkward, grump of a man most of the time… but he had his moments. ]

[This was almost exciting, although he knew he didn't know what he was looking for. But he remained optimistic that he would find it. However, surprise was in his tone as he looked at the other.]

Owe me for what?

[ A confused pause, brow raised skeptically at the question. ]

With the wererat situation…? It’s not like I was going to just forget that.

Oh.

[Terra shook his head.]

I was just helping out where I could.

[ It wasn’t that people didn’t offer help out of the goodness of their hearts in his world, but it was… a rare thing in his experience. Especially among mages. You didn’t get help for free, and debts always came due. ]

Well. [ He started with an awkward expression. ] Your ‘helping out’ kept a bad night from getting worse than it was. So whether you like it or not, I owed you one for not letting me damn well die.

(ooc: I understand if you would like to wrap/hand wave the rest of this given how old it is, I am very sorry for the long wait. Been sick and just starting to recover. I will probably continue to be slow for a bit, but if you want to do anything pls let me know <3)

[Terra smiled a little at the explanation. There had been no agreement, no requesting for any sort of payback, but here the man was, attempting to do just that. He'd seen it from time to time happen among the fighters here.]

It's alright, I'm just happy you're okay.

(ooc: It's honestly your call. I will tag you into infinity and beyond! If you want to wrap to focus on new stuff, I can do that. If you want to keep with these two, I'd love it, but you feel better first and I'm sorry you've been so sick. I hope you feel better soon!!!)

[ The fact that Terra sounded genuine about that just kind of cements that the man is too kind compared to most mages. ]

Ah, well… [ Gray was right, he was kind of awkward. In fact, that was probably an understatement. ] Thanks.

[ And, again in awkward fashion, he tries to shift the conversation off that topic to save himself more floundering. ]

Where in the city is the place you’ve been renovating? Is it near the markets or one of the other neighborhoods?

(ooc: We could keep this going a little bit, but I would definitely like to start something new soon though! Maybe we can work this towards a wrap once I have a chance to put up some new stuff. )

[Terra just nodded with a smile because he was here to help people. Or at least that's what he told himself when he went through his day, so that's what he did. So he really was happy that the mage was safe.

With the new question he had to think a moment.]

It's in the Northern part of the Market District. I'm just renovating it, but I'm going off a design my Master showed me once.

[ That seemed like a good choice for a place to live, really. Convenient in that it would be close to shops and the like. Though he seems to forget to say as much as Terra explained, the design being something he was shown. ]

So it’s based on what you’ve been shown, rather than a common layout for places where you lived before? I see… It reminds me of some of the places I saw while I was in Japan, back in my world.

[ He wondered if the design was something from a different part of Terra’s world or not. ]

[He nodded.]

Yup, Master didn't ever get around to telling me much about it either.

[As he pondered that, that familiar word came up.]

[Terra echoed this softly.]

Seems like I've heard that before. I guess that means I should hit the mage library or the Historium to see what I can find out.

There seem to be a few people from worlds similar enough that the place is present there as well.

[ Some people he’d were even from the version of it in their own world, if he thinks about his phantom helper. ]

There may well be some books present here on it, so it doesn’t hurt to look. You might even get a few ideas on decor for your home.

[This all sounded like a great idea for Terra. The problem was, that he'd have to make time out of his schedule but he could probably move a few things around in order to do so.]

I'll take your word for it, but I'll see how fast I can get there, or the soonest I can. That way I can see what I can find out.

[ Well, at least the Historium didn’t seem to be going anywhere if it did take him a while. Waver himself spent a lot of time there when he wasn’t at his workshop or the academy, given how close it was to everything compared to other places. He offered a light smile and nod to the agreement. ]

[Terra nodded. He had so many reasons to go but for one reason or another he just simply never got there. And this made him make a mental note because time was just getting away from him every day.]
