Hello my lovelies! I can hear again, in case those who learned of my last issues were curious. What a horrible thing not to have when it happens so suddenly. So scary.

But there is a thing to be said of course. I had plenty of time to read while I was isolated, and I have become resolved. I shall be acquiring a lovely sweet fluffy rabbit for myself. Perhaps a second one later too. One of those with fur suited to thread, but it's not about that.

I've been looking at so many books to research what I need, but I realize there are not a lot of places in town where they have the things I would need. I know I need to commission the work for a hutch, but where in the world am I to find suitable toys for the thingS? I hear they like tunnels to snuggle in too, and I don't know how I'd achieve that.

Oh dear, I at least understood dogs, I was ready for one of those in theory. But this is so much to learn!

Perhaps one of the handcraft stalls in the market? I know I have seen people walking around with baskets sometimes, so they must get them somewhere. [ He snaps a finger with a thought. ] The bakery we got to has baskets for some of their displays. I could ask where they got them.

Oh would you my dear? I need to speak with the farmers to find who might raise rabbits for meet or wool so I can get a lovely little one.

Of course, I was thinking of stopping in there on the way home to see about getting something of a treat to have after supper along with a fresh loaf. So I’ll be sure to see what I can find out about where they got them. I’m looking forward to our new addition myself. You’ll have to teach me how to help out.

[ Llewellyn smiled a little. He was glad they were moving forward with this… It would be nice to see Rhy enjoy a pet that was truly his own. ]

Mm… on that note, I was thinking of putting some things in the garden that might be bunny-safe. What sort of leafy greens do you think would be best?

Wonderful, that sounds just useful.

From my readings, most leafy greens would do. It's things like carrots they should not have too much of apparently.

Then I shall see about picking up a variety of seeds and I’ll start a section of leafy greens that can be just for your little bunny to enjoy. We’ll see what it likes best once there’s enough to try. I didn’t realize that about the carrots, though. Seems like most often they’re associated with them.

And they are, but the books say that there are too many sugars in the carrots to be an all the time food.

Hmm… So we could keep a few carrots, but only for occasional treats. I’ll keep that in mind, wouldn’t want to give them something they shouldn’t have.

Exactly. I've written down suggested diet as I could, and I'm already looking to adding it all to the shopping list.

That seems like a good idea. I’ll have to have a look at it. Maybe we can go shopping together next time, so I know what to look for as well.

Names are rather important, though I recall when naming Pretzel I was informed I’m not particularly good at it.

[ Though Pretzel still made sense to him! ]

Something like fluffy or maybe after a flower of some kind? Mm… Then again, it might be easiest to name the bunny once we see it?

Yes. But two. I fear it shall have to be two.

Two? The more the merrier, dear! [ Llewellyn smiled a little. A couple of bunnies couldn’t be much different from keeping one. Plus, he would never deter his husband, not when he was finally moving forward with the idea. Rhy deserved something nice, and the fuzzy companions were an excellent something. ] Perhaps we could come up with names that um- go together, then?

The books say that rabbits are relatively social creatures, and being alone would make them very sad.

A lovely young lady said that Sweetiepie and Flopsy sound good.

Well, we certainly wouldn’t want them to be sad or lonely without company. Mm… so two sound like the best idea in that case.

[ Llewellyn considered the names for a moment, then smiled with a little nod to himself. They sounded like reasonable rabbit names to him. If only because he’d never had to think of names for rabbits before, and they sounded like they would suit a couple of rabbits to him. Like how Pretzel suited their little hound when he saw the pup. ]

Sweetiepie and Flopsy are fitting names for rabbits, I think?

Then they will have those names. If they like them.

[ Llewellyn could hardly discourage it! He thinks the names make sense and are kind of sweet for the little creatures. Especially if Rhy already likes the names! ]

Then we are in agreement. I hope the names fit though. I would hate to choose something wrong.

I hardly think you could choose something wrong, dear. They seem like excellent names for rabbits. [ he offered in a reassuring tone. He could understand the slight worry, though. Naming things was hard! ] And should we meet your little companions and you decide that different names might suit them better, we can figure something out.
