[The knight isn't seen at first because he is attempting to learn to use this communications device and it's unlike anything he's ever dealt with. Fortunately a local helped show him the basics, but getting all of that down into practice isn't going to work well at first.

And how long does one tend to remain here?

It varies. Some people have been here for years and some people go away after a few weeks.

So there is no rhyme or reason for it.

None at all. I've even seen some people show up for a few days and then just disappear.

That is alarming. Surely those that brought us here would have the answers to this great riddle?

They don't know anything more than we do. Actually, maybe they even know less.

[That was even more troubling.]

I do not understand how that is even possible.

Join the club. But evidently they were creatd around the same time this place was.

Then they are as new as the world itself and may not understand everything.

If you want. They tend to do something to try to help us only to release some sort of evil giant bear or curse on us all that we have to clean up.

So they throw challenges at us as tests to see if we survive them?

Nothing as fun as that. I think the majority of mistakes they make are just that, mistakes. They release it or cause it all on accident. Makes predicting things hard. How do you predict that much stupidity?

Nope, beast was probably real. We've had a lot of different weird creatures just show up through the portal. It's completely random timing too. Sometimes they seem to know they've done something and just don't want to fully admit it, sometimes they don't realize it was their fault for a bit. Though, I tend to always think they know and are just too embarrassed to admit to it.
