If you were planning a movie night what essential snacks would you have?
Only the big fun ones will be considered.
What important movies have to be seen? Thinking mostly scary movies!
Winning suggestions might be used. Prizes offered. (Maybe)

Nothing too serious. Only the fun kind.

Hmm… The definition of ‘the fun kind’ tends to vary depending on the person.
no subject
Whats the fun kind to you then?
Do you do fun?
no subject
… What the hell kind of question is that? Of course, ‘I do fun.’ I have hobbies like anyone else does.
[ Oh. Right. Movies. He does need to think about that for a moment. ]
Horror films aren’t generally my go to for movie nights, though. I think the last one I saw was The Ring when my students picked it.
no subject
Of course. What hobbies are those?
[ She likes being the one doing the surprises, not receiving them. ]
I think I've seen that one. Little girl out of a well?
no subject
[ That last one probably does not count as a hobby… But that was beside the point. His video games were already largely questioned and considered a waste of time. ]
Yes, that’s correct. With the cursed VHS tape and all that.
no subject
Research isn't a hobby. [ That same friend would probably disagree with her about that and claim learning is fun. But Kitty's not here. ]
He's got a thing against TVs so I'm not sure a movie about a cursed VHS tape would be the best choice.
no subject
[ He would get along with this friend, clearly! ]
The definition of ‘hobby’ is an activity done regularly in one’s leisure time, so I believe it is in my case.
[ He will die on this very silly hill.
Okay, that is… Very weird for someone to have a thing against, if he’s being honest. ]
Yeah? Then I would rescind my suggestion for that movie. If you have a specific person in mind, though, it would probably help to know what would potentially be a bad recommendation.
no subject
Nope. Not a hobby. Doesn't count.
Anything to do with TVs brainwashing people. That'd be bad. I think that's the only subject to avoid.
no subject
Agree to disagree, Illyana.
[ He is stubborn about this. It makes his life sound a little more sad if it doesn’t count. ]
That’s a unique fear for someone to have… But at least it doesn’t limit you overly much.
no subject
If you say so.
Everyone here has unique fears. Ask around. Seems like everyone's got their own paranoid set.
no subject
[ He wished he had tried playing at least once before the person who was responsible for his eventually picking them up was gone. ]
I can’t deny that, I suppose. Though I doubt people would take kindly to one just asking around about that. [ Hell knows he wouldn’t. ] Have you got any titles you’re already considering for the movie night?
no subject
They might not mind. Everyone asks questions all the time.
I was thinking creature features. Maybe they have a version of the Killer Tomatoes or Jaws. Or Gremlins!
no subject
[ Not easily conveyed by text, but he is genuine in being sorry for her missing her friend. ]
Ah, creature features would give you a rounded variety to go with. I was wondering if you’d thought of Gremlins. Those are good choices.
no subject
It's got a good amount of cute and maybe a bit of fright.
no subject
[ Was even worse, if she had been separated back there too, meant going back didn’t really meany any kind of reunion. ]
Exactly, it would make a good in between movie for a break from something scarier… Or perhaps an even better introduction if your friend hasn’t seen a horror movie before.
no subject
An introduction is a good idea
no subject
I thought it might be. It gives you a better idea of what direction to go from there once you see how they enjoyed it or if they didn’t.
no subject
You're surprisingly good at this!
no subject
I don’t know that it’s surprising. Like I mentioned, I do movie nights sometimes for my sister and students. It’s a tradition around the holidays. Plus, I’ve learned there are some things you need to learn to anticipate and consider. Not all movies are good for some.
[ Like when Flat made Reines’s familiar think it was a killer robot after showing it the Terminator... Flat is not allowed to choose movies, even if he did somehow still manage to show the Mercury Maid absurd things that influenced her. ]
no subject
Oh, which holidays?
no subject
Generally, Christmas and New Year are the easiest times to gather everyone for a movie night, but a small gathering when we all find time isn’t unheard of either. I had a projector in my flat that was pretty easy to set up.
no subject
Aren't you stuck watching holiday themed movies then?
