I can’t deny that, I suppose. Though I doubt people would take kindly to one just asking around about that. [ Hell knows he wouldn’t. ] Have you got any titles you’re already considering for the movie night?

I was thinking creature features. Maybe they have a version of the Killer Tomatoes or Jaws. Or Gremlins!

Exactly, it would make a good in between movie for a break from something scarier… Or perhaps an even better introduction if your friend hasn’t seen a horror movie before.

Well, I’m reasonably sure missing people you care about isn’t an enjoyable experience for most.

I thought it might be. It gives you a better idea of what direction to go from there once you see how they enjoyed it or if they didn’t.

I don’t know that it’s surprising. Like I mentioned, I do movie nights sometimes for my sister and students. It’s a tradition around the holidays. Plus, I’ve learned there are some things you need to learn to anticipate and consider. Not all movies are good for some.

[ Like when Flat made Reines’s familiar think it was a killer robot after showing it the Terminator... Flat is not allowed to choose movies, even if he did somehow still manage to show the Mercury Maid absurd things that influenced her. ]

Perhaps only because you don’t know me particularly well, I suppose…

Generally, Christmas and New Year are the easiest times to gather everyone for a movie night, but a small gathering when we all find time isn’t unheard of either. I had a projector in my flat that was pretty easy to set up.

We aren’t exactly limited to holiday themed movies, but we do watch a few on those movie nights.

I’m not sure one could objectively state what the ‘best’ one would be. A Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street tend to be popular choices for our Christmas movie night… Though one student constantly tries to insist on Die Hard as well.

You and I both know this, and yet… Some students can be terribly stubborn. Generally, he gets outvoted, so it isn’t too much of an issue.

It’s rare… But usually some kind of chaos and a headache for me.

[ He cared about his students quite a bit, but damn if the teenager didn’t test his limits on the regular. ]

Just tell him your vote counts for like 10 because of seniority

Hmm… Not a terrible suggestion. Then the vote would win regardless, given how small the group is.

[ Though it seemed less like voting at that point… But if it means peace between all parties, and the mercury maid not learning something ridiculous or inappropriate? A win is a good thing. ]
