Market - (OTA) Ignis was out enjoying the day. Leaves seemed to be falling pretty abundantly lately and he could only smile. This was the season that he'd gotten married in and his first year anniversary with Nida was only a month away. Ignis was searching for autumnal foods to start cooking, as he always tried to stay pretty prepared. There would be new spices and ingredients to be stocking up now as well. So here he was out in the market (his second favourite place), looking through pumpkins and squash. He'd heard rumours of maple candy in the stalls, so that was what he was in search of for the moment. Turning around when he heard a voice, the strategist shook his head. "I'm quite certain that they told me about this at the Lodge. Have you heard of the merchants selling maple flavoured things?"

Park (OTA) - Ignis turned his head towards the sky as he led his chocobo mount over to a nice soft patch of grass with available water nearby. Once the bird was settled, and he gave it some greens he'd purchased from the chocobo ranch, he sat down on a nearby bench, pulling out a book to read. There were so many things he needed to do around the house, but some break time was needed and he knew that. So he opened his book, and once he realized someone was there, he bookmarked his place and closed it. "I'm sorry I didn't realize I had company."

Cooking (Closed to Luna) Luna had expressed an interest in learning to cook at the beach. And while it had been some time since their meeting, he'd found out where she was and sent a message to one of the people there to let her know that he hadn't forgotten about his promise to teach her. So Ignis had gotten the arrangements made, and procured simple ingredients so that Luna could pursue her learning to cook. The last person he'd helped teach was Jacob, although he did wonder if a certain newer person at the Lodge might care to learn as well.

But at the appointed time, he had tea and cookies ready and when he heard the knock on the door, Ignis opened it with a smile at his new apprentice. "Do come in Luna, I've been expecting you."

He waited patiently and then heard the answer.

"And are those people here? Or do they remain in your world?"

Well isn't that an interesting question. And one that he has a relatively happy answer to.

"My mentor Angeal is here, so that's nice. And one of my two best friends, Cloud. And... Well, I don't know how to define Aerith at this point."

Did she still count as his girlfriend when they had been apart so long? He didn't know. And at this point, Zack was sorta scared to ask.

"Ah, so you're fortunate enough to have friends here." That was lucky in Ignis' eyes to have someone from home here. And it sounded as if Zack had three friends which was great.

However, at the mention of Aerith, Ignis just paused. It wasn't his place to say anything or interfere so he merely nodded.

"I'm sure she's pleased to see you."

"I guess I am," Zack said, nodding along. And he really did appreciate them here. That said, he was scared of what place he might have among them now.

"She was," Zack said with a smile, and he was happy to know that. Even if he didn't know where he stood. "She's really important."

Ignis smiled. "She's is rather lovely as I've had the pleasure of meeting her myself. And with her skill in flowers and decoration she helped me decorate the Hunting Lodge for my marriage to Nida."

It was his favourite memory of her, how much she'd been delighted to help him out.

Wait, he had...?

"You can marry dudes here?" he asked, thoughtful. Because that didn't sound like a girl's name. He didn't think so.

"Why yes you can." Ignis replied in the professional polished tone that often he used for court. "My husband would be living proof of that fact."

There were other same gendered couples here but Ignis wasn't going to name them.

"Was that not something that was permissible in your world?"

Huh, that's not expected. Not that Zack thinks he cares either way.

"I mean, I don't think it was forbidden, it just didn't happen. TO my knowledge. Which I guess is super limited knowledge."

The advisor just smiled. It wasn't in him to tell someone how things worked or didn't work in another world. But it did in his own, and he knew those that had kept it under wraps for fear of incident. Maybe it worked the same in this man's world.

"Well one simply never knows."

"I guess they don't," Zack said, considering it. "I think... I know people back home who might have done something like that, if they could have."

"I take it they didn't marry?" For Ignis himself he hadn't considered it, not until Nida. But perhaps others did in their own worlds, regardless of whether they actually did or not.

"Nope," Zack said, frowning. Maybe he was wrong about the sort of tension going on between Sephiroth and Genesis and Angeal, but he'd always thought that at least one of them was in love with at least one of the others.

"They could be really strange dudes."

"That's curious." Ignis replied, wondering who Zack was speaking about. But of course it was impolite to really ask and that wasn't going to happen.

However, when he heard that last statement, he smiled. "Love itself is a strange thing."

He would know.

Yeah, he supposed it was. Him, he was a guy that was so big on love. He loved his friends, and Aerith, with all of his heart. It was as much who he was as being a hero.

"Well, I'm glad you found some love then."

Ignis smiled. "I do thank you." It was something he never counted on and had basically walked around waiting to leave and to go back home.

With a sigh, the advisor nodded. "This place is indeed full of surprises."

"Surprises like what?"

Come on, tell him more dude?

Ignis smiled. "I for one never expected a chocobo to appear here or a cactuar. But I must say having a normal life is something amazing. Having a business, a home, it's all one huge surprise to me."

A cactaur? Zack's eyes go wide. That was a thing? Could be dangerous.

"You've avoided cactaurs, right? They're really strong."

"That's a really serious danger. Like, hunting Tonberries for that is so much."

And he knows, because he's fought too many on his own.
