00X - Homemade Fireworks - Open To All
Who; Enis Edrin
blindpuppet & You!
What; Day/Night Beach - Homemade Fireworks
Where; Beach
When; Last week of July
Warnings; pending...
Night Beach; Calm
The wind rolled over the sea and onto the shore as the waves crashed angrily against the sand. Another place, another sudden arrival, but this wasn't as unpleasant as the past locations. It was nothing like the center of Illinois where she'd spent a great deal of her life living in a closed off facility. She was able to see outside but it wasn't like this.
There was something beautiful about the setting, from the taste on her lips to the sweet chilling sensation on the wind. For the first time since her steady transformations she didn't feel overwhelmed. She was simply herself.
Enis stood looking out over the ocean for the entire night and the nights that followed. She didn't move but became a silent shadow that dotted the horizon.
Night Beach; Fireworks
It was any easy enough task for the skill chemist to create the brightly colored bursts of lights she'd learned about years before. Enis hadn't ever seen fireworks herself but it was any easy enough compound. Aluminum shavings and charcoal were easy to find and while potassium chlorate is a human made chemical, she was able to find a replacement at the apothecary. Additionally, she found a few various substances while wandering around the forest that burned specific colors.
It took her weeks to come up with the right formula but as she walked out onto the beach she decided that it was worth it.
The box was filled will all sorts of fireworks, some common place while others were magically enhanced to burst into specific shapes. Enis began by placing a single rocket down and then lighting it with a match. The firework whistled through the air before bursting into a bright pink shower of sparks above the beach.
It was loud, bright and beautiful.
Day/Night Beach; Sleepy
Enis liked the beach and while it wasn't practical to visit during the day she could be spotted along the coast line beneath a tree or umbrella that would protect her from the harsh touch of the sunlight. She was always sleepy during the day but the computer chip in her head kept her awake.
She looked like she was curled up and napping but she was listening and noting those who were around her.
If you want to bother her she'll be annoyed but she won't shoo anyone away.

"This is the first time I've seen it." She grew up in a testing facility and since she'd been pronounced legally dead, she couldn't leave. The laptop she'd been given as a child was her only window into the outside world and pictures didn't compare to the real thing.
"I wish I could stay out here forever." If only the sun wouldn't rise.

His eyes looked out at the water and then back to her as she mentioned never seeing the water. He himself had only seen it when he had to be flown above it, but he never quite found the time or reason to go to Costa del Sol. That costed gil he didn't have, as he was sending what he could back home to his mother. The other was carefully counted for as far as living went although he did have a very few luxury items like a nice stereo system.
Letting out a sigh, the former First closed his eyes for a moment. "Have to sleep some time."

Enis turned and stared at the wide shoulders leaning against the thick trunked tree bending out over the sand. "What did you just say?" Perhaps it was a normal comment but his words felt heavy. It was as if he was privy to her secrets... even though Enis logically knew it was probably an accident. This was only the second time they had met and she wouldn't describe their first meeting as intimate.
Was this all really just luck?
... bad luck...
Enis closed her eyes and focused on breathing. "Never mind. Sorry. I just-" Should she tell him? Her reaction was probably strange. She looked away from him and back towards the ocean. "I can't sleep." If it was another situation she might have left without saying a word but not this time.
Perhaps this is what a dream felt like?

Enis' reaction was worrisome but he wondered at her words. "You can't sleep?"
How was that possible? She was a human, and even Soldier had their limits.

Enis exhaled a long tired breath, letting the gentle sounds of the ocean calm her mind.
"And I can protect myself." His worry was sweet but unnecessary. "I'm not... normal." She really didn't want to say that she wasn't human. Not because it wasn't true but because she'd never vocalized the fact and often chose to not believe that her humanity is completely gone.

That last bit sounded something like a dismissal and the former First Class took it as such but still there was the not normal part. "I'm not really sure anyone here is normal, if you don't mind my saying so."
Still, he debated on whether or not to just go as it seemed she wanted him to.

"I don't mind." Her lips quirked into a tiny smile. "No one here is normal. Ah... I might know one person but that's not enough, is it?"
She turned to look at Angeal with that same tiny smile but her bright blue eyes looked wistful and lost. "It's good isn't it? Because someone here might finally understand."

He wasn't sure where she was going with this, but if she wanted to talk, he was here for it. She seemed alone and while that was okay, she seemed to use it as armor.
"You never know until you try." That was really all the advice he could give, not knowing the situation and of course he wasn't going to try to come off as an all knowing know it all.

It all left her feeling incredibly empty.
She feared that she might one day become the monster that her father sought to create. Enis inhaled and exhaled, her vibrant blue eyes cast out to the ocean as she spoke. "It's hard for me to understand people. Normal people." She nearly smiled at the irony of the word. "I was raised in a testing facility without parents or love." Nevermind that her father was in charge of the facility, he was only her father by blood and nothing more.
"But... I want to understand..."

Still, her words tugged at his heart even if Angeal made sure that he didn't move.
"Get to know people and interact with them. I had a friend back home just like you. It took my friend and I some time but he came around."
Of course they both left him and that was their error but Angeal wasn't going into that.
