Kree, as many other species, believed in the occasional need for rest and relaxation. This was not something Lauri-Ell had a lot of experience in of course. Her duties had not allowed her to take advantage of such methods of relaxation, which did not mean she did not know how to handle this moment of wondrous relaxation. And Gili, declaring it too hot to have both of them working the forge all day long, had sent Lauri-Ell off. And so she had been happy to take this vacation day, so rarely offered, to relax herself.

Which was of course what she was doing right now. Lauri-Ell had set herself a wonderful shelter in for the day too. A big umbrella over a chair, a case with cool drinks and snacks, and, of course, a towel. All of these had been abandoned at her seat, of course, because Lauri-Ell had better things to do. Which was make proper use of her swim suit, Universal Weapon granted of course. For the moment she settled herself in the surf, letting the waves lap over her as she holds a fruity beverage that is decidedly pink, and sips at it.

"Is there any way to enjoy the heat than with cool water? I think not. If I go home, I shall suggest to the Emperor that soldiers are given breaks like this."

Terra had been fascinated to find that there was a beach. He hadn't been on one since Destiny Islands and that was a very long time ago. But he had walked along the beach until he decided he should go see if he could find a swimsuit in town. Well he was lucky enough to find swimming trunks and so got those.

So that he didn't dawdle getting into the water, he dove in head first and started swimming even if the water was freezing. And then some little kids had come by and asked him to play with their inflatable ball or whatever, so he did that.

They soon left but gave him their ball and so then Terra was contemplating what to do. It was about that time that he heard Lauri-Ell's voice as she seemed to appear nearby. His head turned and she seemed to be having a grand time which made him smile.

"Beaches are great places to relax."

Oh, Terra! Lauri-Ell smiles and offers a raised hand to him.

"I have not known them before. But I believe this is truly lovely. I could enjoy this all year."

"Wow, beaches aren't a thing where you're from? You don't have oceans or anything?" These questions were asked with a smile, and Terra folded his arms over his chest to listen. If anything, he'd learn a thing or two.

"Oh, I'm certain there are some. I have never been to one. I'm a soldier."

So that would explain her situation, right? Clearly she thought so.

"Oh." Terra replied in understanding. Warriors were always busy, pretty much like the keyblade wielders, and so he immediately understood it that way.

"Then I guess you're going to learn about it while you're here."

Yes, she will. That makes her smile. "I do so hope to learn. Many are teaching me new things."

He nodded. "People here seem pretty ready to teach things." And while it was a new world for him and he was fine with that, it was still nice to see. "So you're learning new things to make, right?"

"Yeah," she said, quite happily. "I like the making of things. Weapons and tools and decorations. That's a wonderful thing. I do my best with it."

And it has been a learning she wanted.

"So what new things are you making since I last came and saw the place?" If she enjoyed learning, well it was worth asking right?

True there was nothing he would use, but Terra could ask. And if he ever found someone who needed something, he'd send them right to Lauri-Ell.

"We are creating a 'katana' for Yusuke. And a special blade for Inesa to train with," Lauri-Ell answered. And oh but she looked excited. It was all so nice, to learn these things.

He smiled with a nod. "Sounds like you're keeping busy and arming the newer people here. I mean, that's gotta feel good to help like that, right?"

Terra knew if he was doing that he would be pretty happy.

"I help the residents here too," Lauri-Ell said. She was part of this community. And it made her smile. She was very proud. "I like learning how to make rather than to destroy."

"You help too? What do you do?" Terra asked as he let himself sink into the water a little bit. The water was cool but not too cold and he thought about things he might be able to do to help out more.

"Beyond the blacksmith work, I have been called upon at times to fight things, like a sentient, talking plants that wanted everyone to hate each other."

That was the best she could determine the creature's motive to have been.

"Talking plants?" Terra asked, moving his head and body back a little in some form of disbelief. Not that he didn't believe Lauri-Ell, it was just hard to imagine.

Talking ducks and all of that were one thing, but plants were another.

"A single one, I think," she said, unhappy. "It had tried to hurt us, and made people paranoid. It was not good."

Talking ducks was NOT one thing. Talking plants were one thing. Ducks were impossible.

He shook his head. "So that's not something that's still around right? I mean, people could get hurt."

Like, really hurt.

"No, we defeated it," Lauri-Ell said with a firm nod. "We were good warriors. We tried talking first, but it failed."

Not that they had tried for long. It had been pointless. It wanted to eat them.

He nodded and let out a relieved sigh. "So there isn't a chance any more might show up?" Terra was just thinking of the Heartless and Unversed. Those damn things were everywhere and were always in multiples.

"I do not think so. But I could be wrong," she admits with a shrug. There were many things she was wrong about. It would not surprise her.

Terra felt himself relax but only just a little. "Well if it's not that, I'm sure something else will come in. At least that's what I've heard."

And he'd be ready.

"Yes," she said, and she hated how fatalistic she felt about that. "Yes, something will come. So I will keep arming people."

He smiled. "That's really cool how you do that. Do you think it'd be okay to show me how you create weapons?" And then there was a thought. "Should I pay you so that you don't get in trouble for it?"

Well now she's beaming.

"I will need to ask Gili's permission, but I can't see that she would deny us it. You can happily watch. And you won't need to pay."

It's just letting someone watch.

"Great!" Terra replied with a smile on his face. This was something he'd been interested in when he first looked around at all of the things that had been for sale at the forge. While he didn't touch any of it, to think that someone was creating these wonderful things was just the best idea ever.

He still had the daggers for Namine which were hanging on the wall near his bed.
