network [ voice ]
Good afternoon everyone, my name is Mitsuru Kirijo, though I believe I've spoken to at least a handful of you already. Still, it seems polite to introduce myself to those of you I haven't yet spoken with.
[ Her voice is rather formal and proper. Almost as though she were addressing a board at a business meeting. In truth, that wasn't too far off from how she was looking at things here. ]
Since my arrival I've been given a great deal of information and I must admit it was quite a lot to sort through. [ Her voice sounds a bit lighter there, with a hint of a smile hidden in her tone. ] Now that I've had sufficient time to organize my thoughts, I do have a few requests I'd like to make. [ She pauses. ]
To start with, I'd like a map of this place. I have not been here nearly as long as others, so perhaps someone else has something already started that I'm unware of. In that case, I would be more than happy to worth together to see what we can put together. I've been working on my own to compile as much as I can. I...have certain unique abilities that allow me to navigate, though I'm afraid it's much more limited than that of some. [ She pauses for a moment. ] I'm afraid I'm also not much of an artist, so I might require some help transferring my rough notes into something more clear.
[ After a brief pause she gets straight back to business. ] Abilities are another thing I thought we might organize more efficiently. From what I've taken note of there are numerous people here with unique abilities that might prove useful in various situations. I see no purpose in keeping secrets in a place like this, so I am more than willing to discuss my own. More importantly though, I am interested in cataloguing your abilities.
I will be at the Historium for another few hours for those that would feel more comfortable speaking in person. Thank you very much for your time.
[ ooc: if you'd like to meet her in person, feel free to just go straight to action in your comment. She's set up in the back of the Historium at a table that seems to have been purposely picked to obscure her from immediate view. ]

She tilted her head as she watched him. ]
Why do you assume you would break a pencil?

[He shot her a brief smile at her question, laid one of his maps next to the notebook, and then his arm was moving... Well, it was too fast for a normal human, but not a blur. He was moving, carefully, just as fast as the flow of the ink in the pen would allow and no faster. He didn't want to break it.]
Pencils could work faster, like me, but they snap with the force of it. Too much needing to sharpen them.

She watched him without much of a change in her expression as he speedily moved the pen.]
I think I can see why a pencil might break with that sort of speed.

[But he's already finished with his hand and sets the map aside and starts the next one.]
Known him basically since I got here. He's been here a lot longer, but I do what I can to help him.

[Another map done. He's already made a nice little pile of them.]

[The stack continues to grow and grow, and he's already switched to the second pen. The other one was either dry or clogging up from his work.]

[He says it with a distinct pop to the 'p' as he finishes another map. And with that he's got most of the markets and the immediate residences done.]

No problem. You needed help, and I am happy to provide it. If you make really polished maps, I wouldn't mind getting one to put up. I'd be able to break down delivery costs by distance so the kids don't get too tired out by going too far, you know?

Who are you? Like, really? You're sorta young to be interested in this shit.

I'm afraid I don't understand why it would be strange for someone to want to be organized and informed in a place such as this. No having the full picture of a situation has worked out...regrettably in my past. I simply don't want a repeat of past mistakes.

I don't know, how old are you? You look like a high school student. Which isn't to say that high school students can't do shit. Hell, they're often better at doing shit than most people. But that can be rare too.

That's a young age to take over, but that means you've been raised to it. Yeah, you're gonna handle this all well. Cool.

[He laughs and he smiles. Please don't worry about that.]
I started using my powers to save other people when I was a teen, so I get it.

[Which isn't much older, it's definitely somewhat older.]

Adults can be trustworthy. And they can be flighty. But the simple answer is that people are variable. No matter their age. Took me time to figure that out.
