The hunt for chef's knives
Who; Ignis & you! (Don't forget to tag in!)
What; Chef knife questing or something silly like that
Where; On the road to the Academy?
When; Late April
Warnings;
Ignis had heard of the reports of beings that sounded an awful lot like Tonberries he'd fought at home from his husband Nida who was in the guard. He also kept his ears open at work at the Hunting Lodge and people were fond of pulling him aside as he made his rounds and talking about the creatures. The more details he got, the more convinced he was that somehow the little green devils had made their way here.
Tonberries were daemons in his world and he and the lads fought them along with other nefarious ones in black robes. So he was quite well versed with their fearsome capabilities. However, the knives he'd acquired from fighting them back home didn't come with him and he decided to go see the creatures he kept receiving reports about.
Putting down the notes he'd made in the green leather book that Detective Llewellyn Watts had gifted him on his wedding day, the advisor sighed to his companion.
"I do suppose this means a hunt is in order."

Putting down the notes he'd made in the green leather book that Detective Llewellyn Watts had gifted him on his wedding day, the advisor sighed to his companion.
"I do suppose this means a hunt is in order."

He looked at his husband and smiled.
"Yes, let's go gather some chef knives for our kitchen shall we?"

"We'll have to see what they have then."
He then tucked a few of the potions he had into his bag and nodded, getting ready to head out the door.
no subject
"Alright," he says, shifting his naginata to his harness on his back, checking his sword, and then bouncing on his feet. Time to go.
"Hopefully this time you won't have to save my ass."
no subject
That promise made him give Nida a brief kiss and double checked for those potions. Ignis had no doubt they'd come in handy.
no subject
Yes, he was vaguely scared of this.
"You gotta promise if this goes bad, you get out of there, right?"
no subject
And then he heard those words that stopped him in his tracks. And then the advisor's head shook. "I will not abandon you, not even to save myself."
no subject

"Yes. As long as you're safe, then I've done my job."
Being the role of the protector was who he'd been since age six. He always told himself that he would die happily as long as Noctis was protected, because that was his charge from His Majesty King Regis.
True he knew that Nida was his protector as well and they would always protect each other. But if it came right down to it, Ignis would rather his husband be alive than himself.

He meets that level gaze with an unwavering one of his own. He's not angry with this. Really, his heart is more pleased that their spirits match so well. Which is probably its own trouble too. But they will stand together.
no subject
"Then that leaves me with only regret with marrying you. And that is that I really can't ask you to marry me all over again."
If they weren't on their way to go collect chef's knives, he'd pick his husband up and carry him to their bedroom.
no subject
Still, he grins and offers Ignis a wink.
"Yeah, I'm down for a renewal of vows any time you want, babe. But after we get the knives. Romance first, and let's make sure it doesn't wind up dead."
no subject
His husband then lightened the mood. It would be awhile before any renewal of vows considering they were still newlyweds, but he did like the idea.
"Right, knives first, and the more the merrier for our kitchen collection."
no subject
"Alright then, did you pick a nice dark abandoned alley for us to get ambushed in?"

Hibiscus warbles from the stable, and Nida shakes his head.
"Can't take you dear."
no subject
Ignis was trying to look at the bigger picture and that usually kept him going. But at hearing Hibiscus, he turned to look at the bird and smiled at hearing the other speak to her. So he chimed in afterwards.
"I'll bring you some greens back as an apology. In the meantime, do be a good girl."
no subject
They'll have to get greens another time. Nida nods and then moves away from their yard, knowing his husband will catch up.
"Your spells ready?"
Nida was resorting his own, trying to find the best arrangement to give him the best magical punch.
no subject
Nodding at his husband, the advisor smirked.
"Of course I'm ready."
no subject
"I'm worried here, if I'm honest. Tonberries could fuck us up pretty bad."
no subject
no subject
In fact, he thought it was rather unlikely. So he hoped they had better luck than his world did.

But it was always going to collapse because fucking time loops.
no subject
He was hoping for a good battle because it had been a little bit since he'd had to do so. But Ignis always worried more for his husband.
