i. Arrival
The blossoming pain in his chest faded and he took in breaths, his hand clutched there, where it should have been filling with blood, his blood. His eyes opened slowly, almost distrusting in their perception of light. This was wrong. It was the Dark Hour, not...what, noon? He nearly jumped out of his skin when the little man approached him, too confused about his surroundings to do much more than dumbly take the sack offered to him and nod, blinking after the little man as he wandered off. He took a moment to consider his clothes, jaw clenching for a moment when he noted the blood-crusted hole in his coat over his heart.
"So that happened." Whether he was commenting on his current predicament, where he'd come from previously, or something else entirely was anyone's guess. Even he didn't know for sure. Still frowning, annoyed more than confused, he finally takes a look around, finding a bench nearby to rifle through his bag. "What is this shit?"
ii. Making my way downtown
Shinjiro found the markets equal parts annoying and useful. It seemed to him that everyone in town came through the market district, either on the way to work or to get supplies for whatever it was they were working on. It was a good place to overhear gossip, and get a feel for this weird city he'd ended up in. The message board caught his attention this particular day, though, what with the strange degree hung there, warning against some sort of monster prowling around after dark.
Monsters after dark. That sounded familiar. It also sounded like something Mitsuru would most likely want to try dealing with, which meant, "I need a weapon." It was spoken to himself, but not quiet enough not to be overheard.

[As useful as the message board was for some things, as the days turn into weeks, it becomes obvious to Shinjiro it's not the way to find a part-time job.
Seeing as there was also no internet to speak of, he supposed this was the thing to do. A way to earn coin while they figured this place out probably hadn't even occurred to Mitsuru, but living on the streets for a while, you get your priorities straight.]
Anybody hiring part-time workers? I'm not picky.
[He's wonderful at introductions, right? Such a people person.]

Llewellyn Watts || TDM continuation
He shrugged at first. Sure it was good, but it also sounded like their business was concluded, at least as far as the sharing of good food was concerned. "Do whatever you want."
He finished off his own container of Takoyaki and tossed the used container in a rubbish bin nearby.
"See you around, I guess." He then shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his coat and pulled his hat down low over his hair before turning, ready to leave unless Watts had more to say.

The detective wasn’t entirely oblivious, though. He knew a dismissal when he heard one. “I suppose you might. I do tend to wander.” He took a small break from devouring his snack as a belated thought occurred to him. “I uh- confess, though… I’m not sure I’ve seen you around before.” If the man was here with the carnival, Llewellyn wasn’t entirely sure if they would see him around. Carnivals moved around, after all… And he questioned where this one would go when it left the city limits… Part of him wondered if it would just disappear as easily as it had appeared. “Would I be correct in guessing that you are one of the newer arrivals that got brought here?”
no subject
"Yeah." He hadn't been here long at least. "There are others?"

That was something. Shinjiro didn't have any idea what exactly, but something. So, if the Aspects were to be believed, they were pulled here to rebuild the place, and they brought more people in regularly with the same story. Did that mean they were telling the truth, that the ones they'd already brought here were failing, or something else entirely? He didn't have enough information. Honestly, figuring out this little mystery was more Mitsuru's gig than his. He was just the muscle, or at least that's how he viewed things.
"Nearly, huh? How's that?" That didn't mean he couldn't ask questions.

Mono || TDM continuation
"And that's...normal around here?" That was different in itself. If people knew about all the weird shit, that would at least make his job easier. Wait, it wasn't his job here, was it? Maybe that was the reason he'd been brought here. Maybe it was a chance to--
You know what? Now was not the time to think about it. "Yeah, you too, kid."

"Nah, I'm not scared." They should be scared of him. Sometimes when he cut loose, he couldn't stop it.

That caught Shinjiro's attention more than almost anything else the kid had said so far. There were other people who knew about monsters here and had the means to fight them? "Both." But he was wondering what Mono knew about monsters, too, and what kinds of monsters were around here. It had to be more than ones dragging people away in the dead of night in the Harbor district.
"What kinds of monsters are we talkin'?"

Arrival
He was learning to ride courtesy of someone who seemed interested enough in teaching him and he was far from one of the champion racers that he saw. However Terra wanted to change that. It would supplement him learning how strong he was in their competitions. So for now he kept to his course and happened to walk by the fountain.
And the very first thing he noticed was the heart shaped hole.
His first reaction was to look around for Heartless, thinking they'd somehow stolen this boy's heart. Of course he was seconds from summoning his keyblade, but that didn't come out as of yet.
But once his blue eyes didn't detect anything, he looked at the person who was struggling. "Are you okay?"
no subject
"'m fine," which wasn't a complete lie. He was a lot less shot than he had been a few minutes ago.
no subject
"What happened?"
If somehow this new arrival didn't begin to act as if everything was alright, Terra was going to heal him anyhow.
no subject
He looked up at Terra's question and breathed a sigh. He didn't have an escape route here, or any reason not to answer the question. Instead, he rolled his shoulder in a shrug. "Got shot."
no subject
Maybe he meant knock out or kill, but he didn't want to think about that.
"Got shot." he echoed softly. "But you say you're alright? You're not in any pain?"
