001 🌺 An Angel [Open]
Who; Inësa/Angel & YOU!
What; Cherishment Event~
Where; Around the city.
When; The month of February.
Warnings; N/A
Inësa was unfamiliar with the event but the idea of Cherishment sent a thrill of excitement down her spine. She wanted to celebrate appropriately.
It was important to learn the various celebrations of mankind and to partake in her own unique way.
Flowing threads of pale wheat-colored hair draped over her shoulders while light pink ribbons weaved through the silky strands. Braids were twisted and tied, pulling her hair away from her face while a wide collection of flowers were artistically arranged to appear as if they were flowing along each braid. Inësa picked out a light pink dress with an open back to allow her wings to stretch before adding white lace cuffs to complete her attire. Her final decision was to forego shoes and wear lace around her ankles instead. It will be cold in the air but she wasn't worried.
Inësa hoped that she looked like a real angel.
Flowers & Flying
The wind cradled her slender frame as Inësa fell into the sky. It was exhilarating to soar through the air and feel the current curl around her wings, lifting her into the clouds. The turbulent currents attempted to hinder her path but a little magic was all it took to calm the circling air.
In her hand was a small woven basket filled with various flowers and crowns that she had collected and weaved together earlier that morning. She didn't have a set plan but she hoped to spot friends and those in need of a smile. With a shift of her wings, she dropped, expanding her wings only when she was closer to the sidewalk. The wind picked up to those on the streets, carrying flower petals across the street as Inësa's bare feet landed on the sidewalk.
"Hello. This is for you." She spoke as she offered a single flower or a crown of roses to her target, a sweet innocent smile shaping her lips.
Chocolates & Cherishment
It was like May Day when she lived in the Sphere but there were more than just flowers and ribbons being sold from the vendors on the streets. There was a menagerie of gifts on display and at the centerpiece of it, all was a set of delectable chocolates.
Inesa took some time to wander through the many shops and view the various trinkets that lined the streets. She wasn't working today but she peeked into A Cut Above to see if they were busy but she hadn't been needed.
There was so much excitement buzzing in the air that she didn't know what to do with herself. She eventually found herself sitting with a box of chocolates that she'd purchased. Of course, she'd heard the rumors about the chocolate's odd effects but she assumed they were innocent. Perhaps the chocolate changed her hair color or made her eyes sparkle. It felt as if something familiar had happened in the past but her memories were too hazy to properly recall.
After tasting a sweet minty flavored truffle Inesa offered chocolates to those she saw walking by. It wasn't that she didn't like them but she didn't need to eat and these sorts of treats tasted better when they were shared and enjoyed with others.
[ooc: feel free to select any chocolate effects or do something that isn't like either of these starters or takes place while Inesa is wandering around the city. I'll roll with anything.]

Inesa placed the trimmed flower in a pile to her right and continued to prep the flowers. This step took a bit of time but it made weaving the flowers together much easier.
Her gaze flicked between the flowers in her hands and Llewellyn as she spoke. "I would be happy to help you. I have experience with flowers though my little friend could likely help more." She placed a hand on her chest and a brief flicker of watery blue flickered into view. "Oh. I believe he is feeling a bit shy but he is a water spirit. He helps flowers grow and helped me keep the plants in my room alive while in the sphere."Â
She grinned at the yellow flowers, adding a few to her pile to trim. "I think so too. They can be for love or family or friendship or hope." Inesa was going to focus on positive meanings.Â

Llewellyn was glad that she was interested in helping, he was excited to have a garden of his own to work on, but… It would be more fun to start it with a friend, and he liked the idea of making sure it was pleasant for more than just himself and Rhy to spend time in. Friends were something to take into consideration, especially since he knew Rhy would be happy to have Inesa around as well.
Though he couldn’t help but blink in surprise, as there was a small flicker of something around his friend’s chest. Had he just seen that? “Oh?” He responded a little clumsily. It definitely wasn’t something he’d seen before. “I didn’t know about your friend, but I suppose if he’s shy, that makes sense. I would be happy for your help and to meet him if he’s ever feeling less shy…” He smiled a little, “But meeting new people can be awkward, so I understand if he’d prefer to stay hidden away.”
He began sorting flowers based on the meanings that he knew then, to make it easier once they finished preparing them for flower crowns. “Precisely! Something with a nice meaning for those who you give them to.” Llewellyn’s tone was bright. He was also of the mind that positive meanings were important to keep in mind for this. One wouldn’t want something that meant grief or sadness, or parting…

"Oh?" She asked as she looked up from her work. "It is alright. He will come out when he likes. I think the change to this world shook him up a bit but once I get more plants in here he will be at home." The water spirit thrived when he had various plants near him. He treated them all as little summer homes and found it easier to relax and show himself to others.
"Are there any crowns that you'd like to make? With certain meanings I mean. We should do those first." She was going to make a red one with accents of babies breath and other little white flowers for Jon.

Nodding at the explanation, he supposed that made a lot of sense. “This world is uh- quite a change from the last, so no wonder he’s a bit shaken up. Looking up and seeing the sun in the sky was quite shocking when we arrived.” He added with a soft laugh. But it had been so nice to see the sun again… Llewellyn thrived on being outdoors on a sunny day. While the Sphere had mimicked it, there was something particularly special about enjoying the real thing here with loved ones. “You should stop by the shop where I work with Aerith. She has some lovely plants. I’m mm… sure she could help you pick out some nice ones for the apartment to add for him to enjoy.”
The question gets a small pause. Were there? “Hmm…” Last year there was a festival where they had been given flower crowns, but they hadn’t been allowed to choose them. His had felt a tad mocking, though it had been pretty. “Something… Cheerful, perhaps crocuses… I rather like the yellow ones. And maybe some clover leaf or blossoms for good luck… Could always use the extra luck.” He added with a tilted, joking smile as he moved on to another pile of flowers. “What about yourself, Inesa? What sort of blossoms would you like to wear?”
(ooc: … >> I should share a sneak peak of this. Was getting it ready for March/April. Probably more April now because life.)

Inesa began to weave her first crown, this one combining yellow, white, and light pink flowers that she'd already cleaned and prepped. "I actually met Aerith yesterday when I went looking for flowers. She gave me most of these and was kind enough to not charge me. I am actually hoping to take the first flower crown to her."
After hearing his desires for clovers Inesa began to weave a little magic into the crown that she was slowly twisting together. It was a simple spell and easy because clovers were a simple plant that she knew well. As she weaved the colors together and removed the light pink flowers, small four-leaf clovers began to grow and twist around the center of the crown.
"I think I would like a pink and white crown with a little bit of green but not too much. Such as a leaf or two from the flowers to frame the larger flowers that create the base of the crown."
Inesa quickly finished the crown she was working on and placed it on Llewellyn's head. "There!"

Llewellyn resumed prepping flowers though, smiling again to hear that she’d already met Aerith. “Ah, you’ve met her already? Excellent!” He was… quite sure Aerith could use more friends. Llewellyn had taken to nagging her a bit around the garden shop, pestering her to take breaks with him and the like. “She’s very kind like that. I’ve enjoyed working with her since she opened the shop.” It wasn’t surprising at all that she’d given Inesa the plants without even charging… She was always very keen to help, and Llewellyn had often thought that the two would get along if they ever met. “I’m sure she’d love a flower crown? The ones you make are so lovely. They’d be sure to suit her quite well.”
He fell silent though as she began working on his flower crown, eyes widening as she used her magic to make four-leaf clovers grow and weave around the center of the crown. Llewellyn’s jaw dropped slightly before he finally managed to say something. “I forgot you have such a beautiful way with these things, Inesa.” He said in a quieter tone, today had been a very good reminder though… Between her little friend he hadn’t known about and this? Honestly, it was probably the most pretty and pleasant kind of magic he’d witnessed…
At her description of what kind of crown she’d like, Llewellyn tilted his head thoughtfully and set the flowers he’d been working on aside to gather up others that had sprung to his mind. He wasn’t as skillful as her, but he had practiced a bit with this since the Sphere and he wanted to try his hand at it… Carefully working to weave some pale pink zinnias for everlasting friendship and lily of the valley to symbolize the return to happiness they all now shared to see one another in this world, using the leaves to accent with greenery as she requested.
He ducked his head, though, as she placed the finished flower crown on his head, beaming at the gesture. “It’s wonderful, Inesa. Thank you for making it for me.” He responded with a grin, momentarily pausing on what he was working on to fiddle with the blooms resting on his head. “I’ll just need another… moment or two with this?”

"This is an amazing city and the sky, well, I have missed it. In more ways than I can say. I used to love to fly but I had not had the chance in the Sphere but now... now I can fly any time I wish." It was truly a gift.
Inesa went back to prepping some of the flowers before collecting enough to weave into another crown. "I do not remember using my magic a lot in the Sphere. I was always worried, before. There weren't many trees or life and I did not want to disrupt the natural flow. But this city is different. I can do a little more." She grew a small bud from the palm of her hand before placing it in front of Llewellyn. "There must always be a balance."
no subject
He smiled though, “Yes, I dare say I could use the practice today to improve upon them. I’ve… gotten a lot better with flower arrangements, and caring for plants, but flower crowns are something I think I uh- still need to learn better.” So it was fun to have the time with his friend to do so, working carefully on weaving the flowers and foliage together to fashion something fitting of Inesa.
Llewellyn hummed with a curious tone, though, at the mention of flying. “So… You can fly too, then?” Something else the man had never seen, though it didn’t sound unreasonable that she could, given what she was… It was just a little harder to imagine.
“Mm… I appreciate the Sphere for getting to know you and others, but it was rather lacking in the natural world. Finding a balance there would have been difficult, I suppose, if that was a risk. I can see why you didn’t use your magic much.” He paused, though, an awed expression crossing his face as he reached out to take the small bud placed in front of him. Inesa truly was a wonder, and it was clear he thought it both impressive and beautiful. “I’m glad you haven’t found a cause to worry about it here. Everything feels so much larger and freer here.”

Her fingers began to braid the stems of the roses of her neck crown, creating a circlet that was thinner with only a bundle of flowers accenting the side of the crown. It was more reserved but beautiful in its own way. Another crown was yellow, green and white with tiny bell flowers cascading down one side in a curtain of silky petals.
"I think so too. I have to be careful with my magic." It could easily hurt those around her or invoke powerful spirits that traditionally remain dormant within the plants surface. "But I like it here. I miss the light bell's but maybe I can grow them here one day?"
no subject
Llewellyn fussed a bit, trying to make sure the crown he was working on was just right… Which meant his were definitely taking longer to put together. Still, once he felt it was complete and hopefully worthy of his friend, he held it aloft for her to look at. “Mm… How does this look? Do you like it? I can… probably make something else if you don’t.” He hoped he had gotten it right, having included the colours she wanted and liking the meaning behind them.
The light bell’s got a curious grin from him. He remembered those well. “I was wondering if you would… I know I’d love to see them again. I’ve always been partial to flowers that can bloom in the evening… And their light was quite pleasing?” He had been both awed by their beauty, and adored them when she showed the flowers to him. They were unlike anything he’d seen before, and it had been a special experience attached to a special memory he had come to cherish when they became friends.

"Of course it is no trouble. I would love to fly with you." Inesa wanted to ease Llewellyn's fears but didn't know how to explain her capabilities. "You see-" She rose her hand and gently curled her fingers upward. The still air of the apartment began to dance, lifting a few of the flowers and leaves into the air before gently placing them back on the ground. "-it is magic. My wings use wing magic to allow me to fly and I can use that same magic to hold another person in the air." Though she wouldn't be giving Llewellyn wings and she'd have to hold his hand through the entire flight.
"I do not know if I have told you think but my body is magic of magic. That is why I am able to use it freely. My true form can be dangerous and that is why I look like this." She could technically learn to change into any form but it'd be like putting on an uncomfortable skin tight suit. It wasn't pleasant and Inesa didn't like it.
"My race takes the form of how we identify ourselves. It is a bit different." She hoped this didn't make Llewellyn feel awkward around her. "So, even if I could make the light bells... they are not of this city. So I cannot." It was likely within her power but Inesa was never very good at practicing her magic. She had left her home before she'd been taught more than the basics.

Listening with interest as she began to explain, some of the concern left and his shoulders settled into a more relaxed posture, his furrowed brow easing. “Oh…” He murmured, eyes following the flowers now moving in the air that was stirred up around him. It did seem a little silly to be concerned after the fact, now that she’d explained it in slightly more detail. Magic, it seemed, was capable of a great many things. “It’s hard for me to remember sometimes just how many things are possible with magic involved, but… It makes sense. I would, in that case, enjoy the opportunity to fly with you one day, then.”
And the detective could hardly feel awkward around Inesa for a reason like that. Whatever form she was in? She was still Inesa, and still his friend. No, Llewellyn could find a great many other reasons to feel awkward around people, but something like this was not among them. If anything, his question might come off as a bit surprising or odd, “So you normally would look different from how you do now, but this is the form you chose? I hope it’s not uncomfortable for you? I’ve always found, uh- trying to be other than one is to fit in can be difficult and uncomfortable.” And for Inesa, it was far more literal, changing her physical form to be something more contained and less dangerous, as she suggested. He hoped she was at least comfortable as she was…
It’s sad that she couldn’t make the light bells, but he offered her a smile. “Then we shall mm… have to find other lovely flowers to enjoy here. Perhaps we can discover something more local to this world we haven’t seen before.” That wasn’t dangerous, of course, unlike the plants from a few months before she arrived.
no subject
"All of those who lived in my world were born like that. Though a man and a woman was still required to create a life." That part was the same as earth.
Her fingers looped together and finished another crown, placing it gently in the basket. "But! There are many exciting flowers here. I want to go into the forest to find more but I was told its dangerous. I am not sure if I should. It is also hard to see, even when flying. There is something strange about the forest." Flying over the city didn't give her an idea of the forest or the sea. There was a boarder of sorts and Inesa was a bit too timid to explore very far. She didn't know what would happen and the Sphere had curved her usual curiosity for these things.
no subject
At her mention of the forest, though, Llewellyn offered his friend a curious tilt of his head as he grabbed a few small yellow blooms to work on another crown. “I and another woman were investigating a situation a few months ago that took us into the deeper forest. It was mm… Challenging to make any kind of progress? Kept getting turned around a lot.” And to hear that it was hard to see the forest from above definitely was another interesting piece to that puzzle to consider.
“We learned there are, uh- another group living deep in it. They… Don’t particularly seem to like or trust those of us who’ve arrived. We never made proper contact with them, but we did find an odd note. I think they could be a very important key to figuring a few things out.” But… They were very hard to find, it seemed, and their note vs the plant situation that at least one or more of their kind had had been a bit contradictory in ways… It was an ongoing puzzle. “But I also rather wonder if they have something to do with the difficult state of viewing or navigating the forest, with some sort of spell, perhaps.”
no subject
"It is possible. If they are the people who have lived here before, they might have experienced whatever misfortune affected the population of this city. If that is the case, I understand their caution. We do not belong in this world and if this is their home, we should respect it." At least, that's what she thought but Inesa didn't know all of the details concerning past events of the city.
"Oh. I am nearly done." The basket was almost overflowing with flow crowns. "Do you need some extras as well?" She wanted to make sure they made enough since they had so many flowers at their disposal.
no subject
He looked at the basket, amazed at how much work they’d accomplished while talking. “Oh- um… I think I’ll take one or two, if you don’t mind. A few kind people at the market I know might like them. Thank you, Inesa. I found the task mm… Rather relaxing, and nice to pass the time while catching up with you.”
no subject
"Sometimes it is harder to be kind but I think that there might be something that can bring us together." It helped that she was very difficult to kill. So she could be more tolerant towards violent behaviors.
"Of course. Make sure you take one for Rhy too." She'd likely get him another gift for the holidays, like flying him around town. "You are always welcome Mr. Llewellyn. I enjoy working with you. You have always inspired me."
no subject
Some might think his pacifistic tendencies to be cowardly, but he wasn’t that, either. He very quickly put himself between victims and attackers, stepping in front of guns or fists without much thought for his own safety. It was just that he didn’t attack with fists or weapons himself. Words were easier for him. He offered her a grateful smile himself, “I agree, kindness is often... the more difficult option for some, but it’s worth the effort, in my experience.”
Llewellyn hummed a little, a crown for Rhy? “Yes, I think that would be lovely... One with roses, I think.” Roses were his flower, after all. The detective had learned well that they put a smile on his husband’s face. Though he paused as he reached to pick out flower crowns, he inspired her? “I do...?” He wasn’t sure if he’d ever actually been an inspiration to someone before... That was a nice feeling. It warmed him. “I could say the same about you, Inesa. I might never have taken up gardening and flowers without being able to have times like this with you. So I thank you in return.”
no subject
Having finished the crowns she needed, she began to collect roses for Llewellyn to turn into a crown for Rhy. "Yes. The sphere did not have seasons but you helped me find inspiration in flowers and nature that we could not see. It was nice. I was able to invoke memories of a world that was not under the water. I think I needed it back then." She wouldn't have been as happy living beneath the ocean if it wasn't for Llewellyn's presence.
"I am glad that I was able to inspire you too." She felt close to both Llewellyn and Rhy but in different ways. It was nice to experience so many different forms of love.
no subject
“In you own way, you inspired me to be more than I thought I could...” He responded with a small, soft smile. “It was something I tried to remember a lot over the years, but sometimes I need the reminder.” Their afternoons talking about flowers and helping with designs had been very good for that.
Llewellyn’s eyes fell on the roses Inesa was gathering, “Oh- those are quite lovely. I think he’ll like those quite a bit.” He commented, smiling brightly at the scarlet tones.
no subject
"I will always remind you!" She watched as Llewellyn weaved together a crown for Rhy. "What else do you think it needs? I might be able to create something we do not have." As long as it existed in the world already. "Perhaps a bit of pine for Rhy. I think he would like the scent."
no subject
The man tilted his head thoughtfully at the rose crown he was working on. “You’re right... It could use something to fill it out.” The question was what? At her comment, though, his eyes brightened. “Pine? Oh, yes, it does have a rather nice scent. The dark green would look nice with the flowers, too.”
no subject
Inesa reached forward and gently brushed her fingers along the weave of the crown. Small branches of pine began to twist and grow from within the weave. Unlike the pine trees outside, this was a smaller species that was softer than the sometimes harsh winter petals. "There. What do you think? Will he like it?"
The scent was soft and a little sweeter than the pine trees that were most common.
no subject
"Thank you, I wouldn't have uh- been able to think of that myself." He added with a little grin, knowing he would have probably overthought and overcomplicated trying to decide.
no subject
She glanced back at her full basket and then at the window where the sun was beginning its rise. "I should go if I am going to hand these all out before the end of the day."
