I. But What Is Going On? | Closed to Yuki
A meal had been promised, and today, delivered. Lauri-Ell was a bit later coming back to it than she had expected, and had often extended apologies to Yuki for this oversight. But tonight, no, she was going to do this right. She had previously agreed that tonight they would eat together, had picked out food, and now here she was, knocking at Yuki's door with bags of purchased food with her.

"Yuki Friend! I have come with nourishment!"


II. Galentine Gifts | Open to all Female Characters
After the long and thoughtful conversation with Yuki, Lauri-Ell gave herself the evening to think. This whole idea, the concept of showing love and affection to those you were involved with was a good one. People should not feel they are taken for granted. Yet, she wondered, what of those who did not have a partner? What of those women who were chasing a man like Chad in that show she had watched in her sister's apartment with the furbeast? What of herself?

It didn't seem fair. Not at all. in the morning Lauri had gone to work and when questioned as to why she was so mopey by Gili, there was more talking. And ultimately Lauri-Ell was set to work on her own projects for the day. She was let off early for her anxious energy, and immediately went to set her plan in motion.

It was a plan that ultimately resulted in her carrying a large wooden box over her shoulder, filled with little gift bags in pinks and reds and deep purples, each with a bow on them. Inside were small packets of chocolate and collections of candles and one of those cloth hearts from Mister Maresh's shop too.

And, any time she saw a familiar female face she called out.

"Hold! I have something for you."

This would go bad more quickly than water would, but it might not be bad to supplement his juices with it.

For now she listened to Yuki, frowning as he spoke.

"I don't understand this still. One should only show such affection in this month? That seems sad."

[areasontohope]

He had to smile a little as he brought his plate and drink to the table in order to sit down and enjoy the meal. "People just decided to make a big deal out of one day..or two back home. But you're right, it shouldn't be just one month. And I'm not sure why they chose it the way that they did."

"Why do they do it though? Is romantic love this important?"

He had to smile at the question. This was definitely something he could've asked not too long ago because he couldn't do anything like this due to the curse of the family. But still, he nodded.

"It is important to show your loved ones how much you love them. And even if one or two days really isn't enough, it's still nice that there are days set aside, I guess if people forget."

He wasn't one of them but that didn't mean anything.

"I guess you'll find out for yourself when you find someone."

She wished she could show her loved one what she meant. But her sister was not here so she could not show it all.

"I don't know that there is anyone who would ever seek my attentions, Yuki."

"Ah..well.." His face lowered and turned a little bit red as he thought a moment and considered Jacob. "I wasn't looking for anyone either, and it just happened. So maybe that'll happen for you too."

"But I do not understand love," she answered with a shrug. Like that was required.

[areasontohope]

He had to smile and looked up at Lauri-Ell. "I'm not really sure it's something you ever really understand. It's a feeling, an emotion and those are pretty hard to describe. And it's not like you could put it under a microscope and examine it."

"Are emotions not combinations of neurochemicals? Surely that could be analyzed?"

It was weird to think that science could not answer things.

Yuki smiled and shook his head. "I'm sure maybe somehow it can be analyzed. But at the same time, you'll just know."

Maybe he wasn't getting it correct or saying the right words, so he tried again. "It won't be something you'll want to put under a microscope, but it's more a feeling of joy."

Just know?

"There is little I know," she answered, sounding worried. "I don't know how to just know anything."

No, she was very scared. What if she never knew she was in love then?

"I do not fully know what joy is like."

Yuki tried to piece it together in his mind to try and break this down since he was getting a few negative responses, but understandably so.

"Then I guess we'll have to figure out what brings you joy."

[kree_soldieress]

"I'd be happy for that attempt," Lauri smiled at him. This was a good thing to hear. A lot of good things to hear. "I want to learn more. And be more."

[areasontohope]

He had to smile back. "Then we'll start tomorrow if you want? We can go to bookstores, or check out weapons or gardening supplies? And when we're done with that, we can always stop for food and try things we haven't before?"

Yuki gestured at her with his cup. "Because I will buy a lot of this."

"Yes!" she said, excited. "I would love to check bookstores. I already know much of weapons, but I want to learn more of other things."

And getting to try new things was a good choice too. She was grinning.

"I would love to learn new tastes."

[areasontohope]

"Alright, bookstores it is. We can go tomorrow and get started on this research. I'll bring notebooks."

He took another sip of his drink and smiled. "New food and drinks will be fun to do."

"Llewellyn has given me some books before, to better study human writing. I am trying to learn more about your culture!"

She was excited to get more books. And notebooks were good too. She should buy more, to keep practicing writing.

"IT will be a good friend day."

[areasontohope]

"Oh." Yuki replied, a little startled at learning that she knew Llewellyn too. But it would figure because the band of people that weren't natives to this place, well their circle was small.

"I can help you with writing too if you want." Heck, he tutored Miss Honda for her exam so helping Lauri-Ell to write would be a project too. And then he nodded.

"What time tomorrow do you want to go out?"

Hopefully not too early.

"I thank you for the offer," Lauri-Ell said, nodding, "but I will decline. Mister Watts-Maresh is teaching me in this instance. If he can teach me this, I can leave you free to teach me other things. This is more efficient and better for friends."

Surely it woks like that, right?

"Alright." Yuki replied with a smile. He wasn't going to try and press for help if she didn't need it. And Mister Maresh was more than enough in order to help Lauri-Ell out.

"But did you know what time you wanted to go tomorrow?"

She had to consider that. Carefully and slowly as well.

"Would the afternoon be suitable? I have some projects I need to finish for Gili, and I would rather do that earlier on than later. So she can sell things."

He started moving to make sure he had room for more on his plate while Lauri-Ell thought. The silence didn't bother him and he was sure to get a refill on the drink before she spoke again.

But he immediately nodded. "The afternoon would be preferable. Would you say you might be ready around two or three?"

"Yes, I can ensure this," Lauri-Ell agreed with a nod. "I shall ensure it."

Yuki nodded after swallowing more of the Horchata. "That'll give me time to go check on the plants at the greenhouse and see if we need any more seeds. Do you want me to meet you there or somewhere else?"

"Given my work schedule, it would be easier to meet there. Unless you've cause to end up near the blacksmith," she suggested. But mostly she thought she'd be summoned to meet him.
