For Nida -

Today was a day that they both had off, so after breakfast, Ignis had cleaned up and got some coffee brewing. He had made quite the list in preparation for their joint meeting today and he kept having the sense of time ticking until they exchanged vows.

Clothing was sorted, food was still up in the air on some things but Ignis could whip up a lot of things in a hurry. The guest list was still to be determined, though they had spoken about a place to hold the wedding. Hopefully, the weather would cooperate and they could marry outside. But as to who was going to marry them, that was a thing that they needed to discuss too. And Ignis needed to clarify their theme and colours.

Outside - OTA

Ignis is walking around outside and is watching a few of the leaves fall. A few are turning colours and it marks the passage of time to him that he's been here almost a year. It's really strange to think about how simply landing in another world has completely changed said world. So he can be found looking at some trees just beyond a park bench. And as yet another leaf falls he smiles.

"It's quite the lovely time of year isn't it?"

Of course he would seek permission, Ignis. What do you take him for? Someone rude? No, never. It still made him nervous, though. To be there, so close to temptation. He had resolved never to touch another drop. He hated the man he had been.

"I would be happy to be seen nea-"

The comment is drowned out as the sounds of a bit of a brewing conflict came out. Nida could hear Julia starting to growl low in her throat. Which could only mean one thing given Ebony and Julia got on well. Nida jerked to his feet quickly and almost dove across the room to grab Hibiscus, who was moments away from her beak moving out to try and pluck one of Julia's feathers in a teasing way.

The chicobo made chirps of frustration and distress, flapping her developing wings, and Nida groaned.

"Ig, lovely, mind getting her harness and leash? Someone needs to stay by the table and leave Jules alone before her and Ebony start plotting for fresh poultry in their diets."

Clearly Hibiscus was going to have to come with him on the trip to the Lodge.

And it seemed just as soon as he was getting an answer, Nida was dashing off. Ignis had gotten up as well because somehow Nida panicking made him do the same so he was about two seconds behind the man looking at the trouble making bird.

The chocobo chick was causing trouble and of course had put herself in a precarious position. But before anything else was accomplished, Ignis scooped up his coal black feline and deposited her into his room and closed the door. After that he got the harness and leash as requested, handing both to Nida silently.

"Ebony has been taken care of."

"Ebony I trust to behave," Nida grumbled before rolling to a sitting position. Did it lead to a minor flash of all that bare skin under his robe? Yes. But did he have any focus beyond shoving the warbling chicobo under his arm so he could take the harness and wrestle her into it? Yes.

That was going to be a thing.

"She hasn't had a morning walk yet, and still thinks Julia is a sibling from the feathers. Sooner or later Hibiscus will realize it."

"I certainly don't want her to instigate or be caught in the middle." Ignis replied, as he smiled at the flash of skin. He would take any and all chances to get to see any bare skin on his mate and would never grow tired of it.

It made him smile at the two of them, and was always happy to see them interacting. To think that this little red chocobo was going to be the one to make a difference in Nida's life so he might not be so scared of them from now on.

"I didn't realize she needed to get up earlier than you do. So I can take her on morning walks in that case." This was him trying to help here.

"She doesn't normally. But the first thing I do in the morning is take the coffee you left me, take her on a walk, and then come back for food," Nida answered. There. Harness on. He snapped the leash into place and guided the little one over to the kitchen table, where he tied her to a table leg.

"Alright. a bit more thought before a walk?"

He just smiled at the chocobo chick and then turned his attention back to Nida. "Well you were saying something about coming to the lodge." And after that they'd pretty much lost the conversation because they'd been interrupted by the chick. Still, Ignis would be more than happy to have Nida there, since the hunters heard stories about his 'other half' but had yet to meet the man as of yet.

Of course Ignis wore his engagement ring and kept it in pristine condition beneath his gloves, and when it was towards the end of the night, the gloves came off and the ring was on display.

"Yes, I was," Nida agreed. It was a long trip for the small bird, but they would manage. "Though You have to make the staff very aware that I won't touch alcohol."

There was the flicker of desperation in his voice.

He shook his head. "I have not informed them of such a thing. That is a private matter between us and I wouldn't disclose such personal information without your say so. However, if you want, I can close the bar early and give plenty of warning ahead of time as to when it will."

"I mean, it's still early in the day for that," Nida noted. "But I can stay outside until then I suppose."

Ignis hummed. "Well on second thought I can shut it down when I get there." And of course he wouldn't mind doing it. The hunters might, but the advisor ran the place. He had no idea what the previous head chef did there, but Ignis now ran it like clockwork and he kept a pretty tight ship.

The hunters would be very upset, wouldn't they? Nida didn't know what to say about this. He looked... worried about this.

"They won't be upset? It seems sort of rude to them."

Without another word, Ignis picked up his tell phone and called the Lodge. Alcohol was to be served for one more hour and half off. Then normalcy would resume when he left. And he heard cheers go up once the announcement was made.

So he got off the phone and smiled at his fiancée'. "It's all taken care of, and I'll make it up to them of course."

Wow, that's a lot. Nida smiled as he rose.

"I'll go change. Thank you love. You're pretty effective in your work there. I just love it. My wonderful husband-to-be."

Ignis smiled and felt a lot of pride as he was called 'husband-to-be.' "I rather like the sound of that." he replied before Nida disappeared. And while the man was gone, the advisor turned to Hibiscus, scooping the red chick up into his hands, leash and all. "You can let Ebony out darling." he called before turning his attention to the chocobo, scolding it gently. "Now you promise to be good and no more pecking at Julia. For she is a cat and you are not."

He spoke to the bird as if it would understand him, but it did chirp back happily.

"I will," Nida agreed, moving to the bedroom. He let Ebony slip around his legs before he slipped through.

It took a bit for him to come back, changed, since he had to figure something out other than his sneaking gear or his uniform. In the end he grabbed pants and a green shirt and for a change came out with all of his jewelry, including all of his bracelets. And his bag at his side, with his drawing supplies in it.

"So, let's get going then?"

Ignis put Hibiscus down when he heard the bedroom door open back up and had carried the little bird in his hand as he'd given Ebony some more food and water. Turning to look at Nida now, his breath caught in his throat. He loved when his mate 'dolled' himself up like that and he couldn't help the smile on his face.

"Don't you look quite handsome." And then he walked over to the other for a kiss, the same smile back on his face. "Yes, let's head out."

Was it dolling up? Oh Hyne, he should admit that it was. He loved the way that Ignis looked at him. Hell, he just loved that someone looked at him.

"I always want to look handsome for you," Nida answered with such open and naked hope in his voice that it was hard for it not to be awkward. Oh well. To protect himself, after the kiss, he just reached for Hibiscus's leash. Picked it, and the chicobo, up.

"Onward."

"You always do." Ignis replied, attempting to be reassuring. If they didn't have somewhere to be, he would've had Nida against the door at the moment. But they did have an appointment of sorts which had to be honoured.

However, Nida could be the main course when they got back home.

He took his fiancée's hand when they went out the door. There had seemed to be something in his mate's voice that was different and Ignis made a note of it so that he could address it. If circumstances worked, he might bring it up on their walk.

Oh, they could have him up against a door when they got back from Ignis's shift. Nida loved those times when his partner was forceful with him. It was nice, partnering with another person who loved controlling as much as being controlled.

Though if he knew he was the main course, he'd probably ask what sauce he was being served with. What? He's horrid like that.

As it was he wrapped his arm around Ignis's waist as the door was locked, already having lowered the chicobo down so she could walk on her harness and leash. Soon she would be big enough that he'd need a new harness made.

"What's on the tarven menus today?"

Ignis practically beamed when Nida put his arms around his waist. Of course the advisor was totally and utterly biased into believing he had the most handsome man on the entire planet with him and he didn't care that he was. Nida was gorgeous as he always was. And it wasn't until the other man spoke that his thoughts shifted away from wanting to turn around and go right back home.

"Crab is on the menu, but of course that can be modified if necessary."

He was known to do that on occasion if a particular set of hunters came in with meat and wanted that for supper. Same thing went for some fisherman who came into the lodge at times.

Well Nida wasn't going to argue with the idea that he's the most handsome man on the planet, provided one added 'other than Ignis' to the qualification.

"Ooooh, crab sounds lovely," Nida cooed, eyes sparkling with delight. The amount of missing ocean foods he had wasn't really fading.

"I thought you might say something along those lines." And by now he'd perfected crab cakes too, so Nida was going to be more spoiled than anyone else there by the different ways Ignis had been practicing with making crab, having utilized the cookbooks he'd borrowed from the Wizard's Tower.

"Oh are you redoing the menu just for me, dearest?" Nida asked, pulling him along and letting the chocobo folllow the best it could. "Because Hyne above I can definitely be cook with that."

"Well I certainly may have some things on hand prepared for such an occasion." And he did that out of his own pocket. For now he gently tugged upwards on the hand entwined with his and gave it a brief kiss before putting it back where it was, looking directly at Nida right after.

"I'm happy that you've decided to pay the lodge a visit."

Oh what a delight to know. Nida liked that idea, that his lover thought about what might be the best for him. He never stopped being flattered by the idea that someone cared about him, put him ahead of other things, cared about him. Loved him.

Fuck it was so good to matter to someone.

"I've had reasons not to. I'm trying to be better than I was, I don't want to become the man I was before here, before you."
