It was here. It was HERE! Lauri-Ell smiled as she looked at the large cart with layered padded out panes of carefully and custom made glass. And with it, a whole selection of the metal bars and poles and things she had made with Gili's help that were finally ready.

Lauri-Ell looked at her deliveries and looked so INSANELY gleeful, grinning massively at all she saw. She was excited, definitely excited. But...

"Now I have to get it all upstairs," she sighed. And assembled. Which she could do. But man, there was so much she had to do. "I should have arranged a day where I knew I had help."

Or someone with telekinesis, but that didn't seem likely.

2. And So The Building Begins | Blue Building Roof
Finally. It had taken her all of the day before to carefully move all of the supplies up to the roof, even with help, and the fatigue after had been too much to start the building process. So she had taken the day off, put out feelers to friends and neighbors to see if anyone wanted to help, and got up early to start in the markets. A basket of fresh turnovers and sausage rolls later, and after the making of two large pitchers of 'lemon-aid' Lauri-Ell made her way to the roof with the copies of all of the notes and designs she had made for the work.

It was time. Lauri-Ell clapped her hands together and smiled.

"Alright. Frame first I think!"

3. Things To Go In Glass Houses | Flower and Gardening Shops
Alright, now she had a lovely little greenhouse prepared, one that she could even get into. So now there was the rest that needed to be done. Which was why she had taken her cart around to a number of stores. Already she had acquired a few large bags of soil and some pots and trays for planting. But now?

Now Lauri-Ell was looking at small seedlings, not to mention bags of things proclaiming to be seeds. She looked... worried.

"But how do such very small things become such big and good plants?"

And what should she get? Food and healing things, that was what she and Yuki had agreed to.

"I don't know what to do," she mumbled unhappily.

"Okay." Yuki replied, after listening to Lauri-Ell's instructions. They had gotten pretty far and he was optimistic this project was coming together at a pretty good clip. But this new part about the clay. It was definitely a different time than his own, but maybe in some ways that was a good thing.

"How long will it take to dry? About a day?"

Which meant delays, but some things couldn't be rushed.

"A day to cure, but we'll have the glass in first. So we'll be able to start things inside anyway."

They would just have to not prod the glass. "Here, I would like if you would help guide the glass pieces when I guide them into place."

It was really great to get to do this. All he ever had at home was patch of earth in which to grow his plants. But seeing everything that would be inside of a greenhouse of sorts was a real treat.

He had all of the plants potted and they were coming up through the earth in the terracotta pots already.

And when Lauri-Ell gave him instruction as to how she wanted to proceed, Yuki just nodded. "I can do that."

"Good," Lauri-Ell smiled and reaches for the first glass pane, carefully lifting it into position at the tops of the metal poles.

"Alright, help guide me now."

"Alright." Yuki replied with a nod, helping Lauri-Ell with the glass and the metal poles. It didn't line up correctly right away, but he did a bit of moving and then it slid right in to where it was supposed to be.

"Got it."

There it was. Lauri-Ell smiled, carefully adjusting her hold to help things slide into place easily. And then she smiled. The first pane of glass was in.

"Alright, we're getting this done! I think we have our plans made. Now that it's in place, let's get the clay pressed in. It's supposed to be done from the outside first."

"Am I supposed to hold this together while you get the clay in place?" Yuki asked this wonderingly because he had no idea how this was supposed to be done. But he was looking forward to learning.

"I'll hold it in place, and you'll pack in the clay. The frame will hold it mostly, but I will keep it from shaking," she offered with a smile. "We'll get this down to a very good process I think. Me with strength, you with quickness."

"That sounds like a great plan." Yuki replied before grabbing the clay. It didn't take him long to get it in place and he looked at Lauri-Ell when she commented about his quickness.

He then smiled a little and gestured to the clay he'd packed in. "Is that enough do you think? Or do we need more?"

"I think it should be good. If you will come do this side as well, I will get the next piece of glass lifted into place."

She was so happy, that her and her friend could do this so well. If she could get the glass in, he could do the clay, and soon they would have it all done!

"We are a very good team."

He moved over to get the other side done as well per instruction. This was educational to be able to do something new that he'd never done before. Back home he had a patch of earth, this would be completely different.

And it was exciting.

But he smiled over at Lauri-Ell when she spoke. "Yes we do make a good team."

"I wish to stay a team with you," Lauri noted with a smile.

She hadn't had many friends in her life, but this one was important.

"Then we can stay a team." Yuki replied, happy with Lauri-Ell's words and happy that their project was just about done. "So when do you think we can get the plants in there safely?"

"I don't know. I didn't see instructions on that in the book," Lauri admitted as she turned her further attention to the frame.

It took another few hours to finalize everything. To get every piece of glass in place, to get things sealed, to make and place and anchor the roof and the door and the metal flaps at the top meant to let them let some heat out if needed. And all in all, Lauri was smiling and tired by the end.

Probably fair to assume her little friend was too.

"We deserve pizza."

He didn't ask again and just continued to try and get the greenhouse as done as possible. It took a lot of work but he knew it would be worth it in the end. So he turned and stepped back to admire the project when it was completed.

Yuki would bring the plants tomorrow.

At Lauri-Ell's suggestion of a pizza, he nodded. "That sounds good."

"Tomorrow morning, I will go shopping for things," she decided. "Very early."

To make sure they had anything they hadn't acquired already. "We can make a list while we eat."

Early and Yuki didn't do well together. And of course it was a form of training for him to have to be to work by nine in the morning. It used to be eight until he'd spoken to Caelan who'd pushed it back to nine. And no one in the office had ever commented about it.

But he nodded. "A list is good, let's go get some food."

He was lucky he had not been held to his combat instructor's old training hours, truly. Lauri-Ell, though, she smiled. She worked from dawn, so being up earlier than that was important.

"Please allow me to buy food," Lauri offered.

"Oh, okay but next time I buy." This was a surprise that she had offered to pay but only because it wasn't something he was used to, or was raised to accept so easily. However, as long as he could get them food next time he would be alright with this time being paid for.

"Alright," Lauri smiled widely. "I'm very happy to agree to that. Tomorrow you buy."

Because of course they should eat after the hard work of planting and moving plants!

He was happy to agree to such a thing.

"You got it."

And he was really looking forward to the pizza because it was so good here.
