1. A Stitch In Time... | A Seamstress's Shop
The young woman who watched the counter was sick this morning. It was something Rhy had been informed of when he had first entered and, of course, the other ladies that worked in the shop had a very reasonable expectation of that. There were dresses to be made, suits to be prepared, shirts and blouses and vests. So many different things hat needed finished or prepared or repaired. All in all it meant that the newest hire who was still working on some of the easier skills was watching the counter. So he sat there behind the counter, working on repairing a vest.
Until, that was, the door opened. He looked up with a bright smile at the individual entering.
"Good morning. How might we serve you? Something new to wear? Repairs? Perhaps some lovely embroidery to enhance what you already own?"
2. Light Fingers Cause Problems | The Open Air Markets
Lunch, or nearly that. Rhy had been given leave a bit early from his job to go collect lunch, given he was intending to bring it back to the small tables near his place of work to have lunch with his husband and their lovely pup. Today it was his turn to buy their lunch, and so he had, a basket of small pastries, sweet and savory, a small wedge of cheese, and a small bunch of grapes. This last item was in the hands of the vendor, about to go into Rhy's basket as he took the small purse with the last of the money for lunch in hand as a child ran by.
One second there was a small pouch in his hand. The next just empty air as the child bolted off through the market, with the vendor cursing as the child ran off. And Rhy stood there, shocked.
"Did... Was I just stolen from?"
What a strange and interesting thing!
3. Why Do Birds Suddenly Appear | The Park
A day off. They were not the most common for Rhy, but he did so enjoy when they came. With Llewellyn busy at work Rhy had set himself into the park, another trip to allow their sweet basset hound pup get used to the plant and animal life. The dog was currently napping at the end of his leash, tuckered out from some vigorous sniffing action. Rhy, meanwhile, had settled on a bench with a book in his lap, enjoying the slow progression of a book he had bought.
He didn't even notice the little song birds growing interested until one landed on the top of his book, tweeting at him in curiosity. The man went very still and stared at the little finch, which seemed to have no problem with his presence.
What did he do now? He didn't want to scare the thing. Oh dear.

"I'm glad I amused," he noted as he gestured for his partner to join him. "I don't think they were charmed so much as resting."

“I don’t know, I find most birds tend to rest on the branches of trees than so close to people.” And the bird had seemed quite happy on Rhy’s book, “So I believe that the little finch rather liked your company, or at least your choice in reading material.” He tugged out his phone. “See?” The detective turned the screen to show a rather nice shot of the whole scene.

What he hadn't expected was the picture. Truly that made him smile.
"YOu are kind to capture my moment."
no subject
The weight resting against him was such a nice, warm comfort that Llewellyn relaxed his shoulders a bit and wrapped his free arm around his beloved. It was nice, a pleasant way to spend your break. “I uh- don’t know about kind. I don’t think I could have passed it up if I tried. It just seemed a lovely picture of the one I love in a very nice, quiet moment… and I wanted to keep it.” Was that too silly and sentimental? Maybe, but Llewellyn didn’t really care. He was glad to have captured the moment.

His husband’s comment startled a laugh out of him, though. Of course, the man would remind him of that, a disaster that had actually turned out rather well. “I could never say no to you, though I can’t help but imagine that would be a less pretty picture than this. Mm… More silly and awkward.” He tucked his phone away though, “Although I wouldn’t mind being pushed in again by you, as long as I can haul you in after me.” He teased, “It led to a truly lovely thing, followed by something wonderful, for all the awkwardness of having to maneuver out of it.” And it had been so very awkward considering the position they’d ended up in. Not that he’d ever really mentioned that to Rhy…
But Llewellyn often wondered if he’d ever have found it in himself to say the thing’s he’d said that day that rekindled interests and possibilities he’d nearly denied them both if it hadn’t happened.

"I suppose I could join you wherever you want, beloved."
no subject
The laugh from Rhy is music to his ears, of course, and he felt a rare and playful desire well up in him at the comment. Chuckling softly, he tilted his head slightly. “Well, In that case, it would be a crime to not take advantage of that.” He tugged Rhy gently onto his lap and wrapped his arms around him lightly. “I like the idea of having you closer right here and now, I think.” After all, he hadn’t expected to see his beloved until the evening.

If Rhy was a flower, he was watered by simple displays of affection.
"Did you have to escape work today?"
no subject
Enjoying the weight of his husband in his lap, he adjust his arms to wrap comfortably around Rhy’s waist to free the man’s arms if he did decide to continue reading.
Though the detective did rest his head next to Rhy’s, looking over his husband’s shoulder at the book, he hummed a little at the question. “Yes, it’s um… An outdoor thinking day, I think. Couldn’t focus inside, and my notes were getting a bit out of hand…” A few had undoubtedly migrated to Jagger’s things and be a slight inconvenience. “So a walk, contemplation, lunch at the park? Maybe check on a few locations someone suggested for the two of us. But I did not expect to find you here today, so consider me pleasantly surprised.”

He leans against his lover, eyes closed, radiating a bit of peace. He rested his head on Llewellyn's shoulder and smile.
"My benefit I suppose."

So soft moments like this were to be cherished. Chuckling softly, he cuddled Rhy closer to his chest. “Though you are one of the few who can hold my attention properly, quite good at distracting me, though I’m always glad for it.” Taking his mind off his casework sometimes was almost as important as working on it on the go. A break sometimes helped him look at things differently when he eventually went back to it.

"Let me reboot your mind."

Instead, he tangled fingers in Rhy’s hair, drawing him into the kiss more deeply with a pleased sigh. Clearly Llewellyn was as hungry for it, and closer was always encouraged… His arm shifting to hold the man in a firm, comforting embrace, hand grasping at material lightly.

Although… It would be a shame if the small, wrinkly fluff butt that was also on their level were to have enough of their nonsense that involved ignoring him…
no subject
Or he did until said fluff butt realized that not one, but two faces of his favorite people were now in licking range. The pup rushed forward and then Rhy was pulling away, laughing as the dog came in to demand his kisses.
"Damn you Pretzel!"
no subject
Glancing up at his husband, he gave the man a small grin. “Mm… I suppose we should have probably anticipated that interruption. Revenge for not letting him in bed some evenings.” He raised a brow with a slightly amused tone.
no subject
Which meant Pretzel couldn't just invade of his own accord.

I think I'd like to work this toward a close, though not going to cut it off. Hope that's okay
Yeah if you want. I figured it was heading to a close soon, just say when you want to wrap it.
there strikes me that there is a logical close point they will get to.
