CONCERT 6PM
The fountain square was cold but not impossibly so. They could still perform and offer a bit of relief to those who felt burdened by this city.
She was standing on a small wooden platform that --with the Gullwings' help-- she had erected as a stage. It wasn't a large area but big enough for her and for Caelan. Handmade flyers had been passed around the week before and a small crowd had begun to gather, everyone wearing thick overcoats to ward away the winter chill.
Yuna exhaled, her breath puffing a silvery mist in front of her. She was wearing her gun-sphere attire with Caelan standing behind her in his usual loose shirt. They should be cold but adrenaline and excitement coursed through them both. Magic gathered around Yuna as warmth and excitement fell over the crowd. Her singing wasn't just her voice or the strings of Caelan's violin but every ounce of her magic flew on invisible cord over the crowd, lifting spirits and showing the world the strength of her conviction and warmth.
Her clothes glowed as the song began and moved over her frame before she was dressed in her songstress-sphere. Yuna smiled back at Caelan, they exchanged a warm look and the first song began.
They followed with another and then another, Cealan and Yuna had chosen five songs for their performance, ending at a song that had too many memories and at the end --again-- Yuna had to wipe away her tears. Caelan stepped forward and bowed next to Yuna, where the young hunter did the same. It was exhilarating and magical.
[ooc: The songs that are sung are violin renditions of the below with some techno from Yuna’s songstress that is never explained.

AFTER PARTY 7:30 pm
The songs had done the trick and as Yuna's magic twisted through the area, warmth and excitement continued to grow. Booths were haphazardly set up with drinks and food were sold. Nearby taverns had their doors open and the gathering turned into a full party.
Caelan continued to play but Yuna exited the stage to enjoy the ever growing party. After a bit, Caelan left the stage as well and the platform was filled with new players and even some drunk eager dancers. It was getting a little wild and Yuna hoped that the guard wouldn't have to be called to calm things down. At least she had a flyer that had warned everyone of the event a week ahead of time.
There was laughter and even some games being played around the square. It was amazing that things have grown this much and it appeared as if the evening was going to continue to grow in excitement.
EARTHQUAKE 10:00 pm
The earthquakes have been getting worse but Yuna had hoped that the concert might calm them somehow. It had been a long shot but it was worth a try and, for a moment, she thought it might have worked.
That was when the earthquake shook the fountain square. The stage had been filled by other players and various bold dancers but it couldn't withstand the shaking earth. One of the stage's supports snapped and the people went tumbling to the stone ground. Yuna looked around and prayed that the open space would keep them safe but stalls had been erected and the temporary booths weren't strong enough to stand.
The earthquake lasted ten minutes before it finally subsided, ending the party.

Caelan | OTA
Caelan felt charged, even after playing for so long between the concert and his continued performances until the others took the stage. He’d been excited by Yuna’s idea in the first place, but he hadn’t even realized how much he needed a chance to show off until they’d walked on stage together and the first song began.
His steps as he moved between people were light and bouncy as if he hadn’t quite gotten it all out of his system yet. It was, without a doubt, one of the few times he felt rather like himself since he’d arrived in this world.
It was normal, after all. To perform and entertain, to spin and weave notes with a friend. He missed a lot of his old life; the parties, the heists, the performances... This was at least one of those things, for all he wished the others could have been here to take part as well.
He wished he could introduce them to Yuna, considering she’d been such a marvel on stage! Really, the more he learned about the woman, the more he liked her.
For now, he was heading for the stalls to get a drink and something to eat.

He'd have to find Jacob and tell him all about it. As it was, he'd texted the other, updating him on how amazing this all was. So when the Selkie got off of the stage he waited until the other had a chance to eat and have a drink before approaching him.
"You two were amazing out there."

"When was the last time you got to play in front of anyone? Was that back home?" Caelan was just so talented it was incredible. And of course Yuna had been too.

She slipped up next to Caelan with two drinks in her hand and pressed one into his palm. "Need to catch your breath?" She asked with a smirk, her mismatched eyes glimmering with the same excitement that Caelan felt.
There was something hypnotic about performing and while Yuna rarely performed, it was something that she truly enjoyed. She didn't have to hide but could release everything she was feeling inside and share it with those around her.
<3!
He far too excited to really focus on eating yet. “You were brilliant, by the way. We should do this again sometime.” Maybe not on such a large scale, but it’d be fun to get her out busking with him.
XD
Her two-toned gaze refocused on Caelan and she nodded. "I would like that. I don't need an audience to sing." She sang because it was something that she enjoyed. "We used to have parties like this on the airship." Her voice was wistful and warm. "The Gullwings." They had just been having fun and trying to relax in a world that was tearing itself apart.
"You know, in between stealing spheres from other hunters." She took another sip of her drink before signing. "I didn't realize how much I missed it."

Caelan's performance was just as good, too, and he bought more than one drink before meeting the man at the bar, setting it down next to him when he arrived.
"So, that was pretty impressive."
no subject
“Glad you enjoyed it, I’d be disappointed in myself if it were less than impressive.” He responded with a little tilt of his head, taking a drink, “And thanks, just what I needed... You’re Thomas, right?”
no subject
Thomas inclined his head in acknowledgement. He'd seen Caelan around the network, and he was pretty sure he worked in that weird detective agency in the market, at least he thought he'd seen the man around there.
"That's me. I didn't realize I was so popular." He quirked a smile in Caelan's direction. "At least not enough to deserve groupies. I'll leave that to you."

jake: ota
Jake found a seat on the fountain, away from the stage and a bulk of the crowd but within ear shot of the performance. He could see Caelan's back and that was enough. He smiled as he watched and at times, closed his eyes to simply listen to the melodic tunes.
It was like a clash between his old life and a new life here and that somehow calmed him. When they were finished, he stayed seated but refocused his attention on the party around him.
Earthquake
He needed to talk to Caelan but it didn't feel like now was the right time.
That was when the earth shook and Jacob instantly rose to his feet. The sounds of splintering wood along with the terrible chorus of screams cut through the air. He saw the platform fall and while it wasn't particularly high off the ground, a young woman had gotten trapped beneath the wooden stage.
Jacob ran over and lifted with all his strength. He was able to move the stage enough to stop her from being crushed but he didn't have the strength to move it off her, not with people still on it.
"Can you slid out?" He choked out the words and while the woman struggled, she found herself trapped.
Damn it. Jake thought to himself before looking around for someone to help him move this damn stage but most of the crowd was running for some sort of cover or to find wide open spaces in the square where nothing would fall on them.
Earthquake!
The selkie was moving first for the stage once he got his feet under him again. The performers that had been up there were likely in need of assistance compared to those who were just wandering around the square. It doesn’t take him long to see Jacob trying to help a woman pinned beneath part of the stage. Caelan hasn’t got a lot of physical strength, not really, but he’s got a keen mind for getting out of tight spots. “Gotta get some leverage, here. Help me get this board under the edge and we can put our weight on it to lift it enough for her to wiggle out.”
Earthquake!
"There!" He shouted, out of breath. "Slid it under."
His arms began to tremble with the strain but he couldn't let go. Not until she was freed.

after party
She muttered curses in Russian as she reached the fountain and took a seat down to try to use it's water to clean her shirt. It took her a second to notice Jacob and she tilted her head.
"Not interested in joining the crowd?"
after party <3
"Can I help? If you want you can wear my shirt or my jacket." It was a bit cold but as long as Jake was wearing a single layer he'd be fine and he had two layers on right now.
His clothes would also be big on Illyana, which meant that she could do that magical thing girls did that involves taking off a shirt or undershirt under another shirt.
Girls were magical when it came to changing.

"Yours?" she looked at what he was wearing a bit skeptically. At least it wouldn't smell as horrid though. "Are you sure?"
I am catching up!!! <3

Lauri-Ell | OTA
There is much to be said for music. Lauri-Ell knows this because she says much of it to anyone who approaches. Caelan and Yuna will get a good bit of cheer from her, but literally anyone approaching the large blue woman will get a cheerful comment.
"Was that not wonderful? Music is such a wonder. I quite like music. There should be more of it!"
no subject
"I'm glad you liked it. I hope we can have more concerts like this and perhaps inspire more people to sing, play and dance too." It was fun to watch but nothing compared to being on the stage.
no subject
"Dance? I saw dancing once. While Caelan was playing. There were people dancing when you sang too. It was so nice. How did they know to dance?"

Her arrival at the fountain, very near his vantage point, took him by surprise, though, and he was fairly certain she saw him so he approached, pausing for a moment before taking a seat near her.
"You were the one spinning."
no subject
"No, the world is spinning silly! Not me!" Which made perfect sense to her. "You've been watching." She teased in a sing-songy voice.

I am so late, I'm sorry! I hope this is okay <3
"I can see that." Yuna laughed, feeling the excitement of the event course through her limbs, reaching from the tips of her toes to the ends of her hair. She had spoken to many people about the performance and had been looking for them now that she had finished her performance, she was determined to find everyone.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I was hoping you would."
no subject
"You were both super duper great! And you seemed so happy up there and now! It's nice to see people so happy here. People weren't so happy in the other world I was taken to. This one is nicer." That didn't really take much though when she really thought about it. She hook her head and looked around.
"The last concert I went to was a long time ago. It wasn't like this though. I like this." Not sure if she liked it more or less but she liked it. It was just different.
