Books you say?
Who; Yuki & open!
What; Books!
Where; Mage Tower
When; Yes
Warnings; None
Yuki had heard about a strange tower in the North. And what was even more fascinating was that many thought it was a wizard's tower and that it held so many books. Well once he caught wind of that, he had to go off and find out this thing for himself. After all, he did have a promise to keep regarding research.
So he packed himself a few things in his backpack including pens and paper and headed out, following the directions he was given. It took him awhile but he found his way, seeing people pass by him talking about the tower and the books to be found there. He listened carefully and knew he was on the right track.
After awhile he found himself looking up at the Tower itself and nodded. If this place was half as great as the people he'd passed on the road, this would be a great place to be and go. Cautiously Yuki headed up to the great door and poked his grey head around inside, looking things up and down. But soon he smiled and walked in, with his eyes blinking repeatedly at the endless rows and twists and turns of books here there and everywhere.
"Is anyone here?" This was asked in his usual quiet tone, which was more hushed because library.

Like he really needed to do with Jacob, but that wasn't something he was going to force the guy into.
"I can help you two look for things if you want. Me, I'm looking for ways to travel from this world into a world that isn't my own."
no subject
Turning to Nida he did let something of a smile show. "You can sense something like that?" Since the curse was broken he didn't figure that the man would be able to pick up on it. Not that he'd tried to run into any females out of old habit and not that it was his style anyway, but he definitely didn't feel the same way that he used to.
But the last part had him confused and he mentally pushed away the image of holding Jacob's wrist. "Is something like that even possible?"
no subject
"I followed Yuki." He nearly flushed at his confession but quickly moved on. "But since I am here, I am at your disposal. Either looking for magic or whatever it is you're interested in Yuki."
He looked down at his friend and flashed a small awkward smile. He felt like Nida would read into his actions and he honestly didn't want to hear it.
no subject
Seemed maybe Jacob had made another friend. And at the look on his face, maybe more. Nida was proud. So very proud. But calling it out in front of Yuki? Definitely not the right way to handle this. So instead he focused on Yuki's question.
"I don't know. But I don't want this world taking me away from Ignis, so I'll fight to the end to be at his side," he admitted. There's an adamant passion in his voice, like he refused to let fate stop him this time. Because it really was a 'this time'.
"But first, what are you two looking for?"
no subject
Jacob's smile was hard not to smile back to, but realized what it could look like in front of his friend. So Yuki turned his attention back to Nida when he mentioned Siren, whoever she was other than some magical person.
But something in the man's impassioned words stirred something in the silver haired man. Whoever this Ignis was, they were really important to him. "So..you're looking for a way to stay here with him? Or go home with him?" He looked back at Jacob just for a moment, thinking about how he'd felt when he'd died.

He wasn't sure what he thought of Yuki. Only that the young man had been kind to him and worried about him. It was awkward. Jacob really didn't like it when people worried about him but it was a good sign. It made him happy, uncomfortable... but happy. It meant that they could become friends; which wasn't really a skill that Jacob exceled at. He kept most people at an arms length away but things were different here and he wanted to at least try.
He turned to Nida and nodded. "I get it. He's lucky to have you." He knew a lot of people that would do something similar, as it was, Jacob didn't know what he wanted. He didn't really care where he was and while he missed his family, he felt like it was better like this. Life was less awkward and there wasn't a chance of him putting any of them in danger.
"Let's look for both. We can split up. Look for magic and gardening." The two most unrelated topics ever.
no subject
"There isn't much for me to go home to, so I want to go home with him."
He wants to stand by Ignis through thick and thin. He wants to be bound to the other.
"Halcyn suggests that I might be able to stay here if I want, but I don't trust her or this place."
A statement of fact, and he knows better than to trust powers in these places.
"ANy specific sorta gardening? And do you want something too, Jacob?"
no subject
So finally the silver head shook. "I don't really know if they know much either." He'd overheard Halcyn but sometimes she didn't seem too knowledgeable. However, he was too polite to say anything and hadn't.
To the last he shrugged. "Nothing special Just how to grow things here and when they're in season." Because that was the promise he'd made to Lauri-Ell.

Maybe a cookbook for dummies...
"We'll start with gardening." That was easier and he'd be able to help Yuki, which was a plus.

"Well then, boys, time for a search. Meet back here in half an hour?"
no subject

With that, he gestured to Yuki to let him know that he was going to follow. He might not stay the entire half hour. He eventually had to get back to work and had only had an hour break when he had left but he was going to do what he could before he ran out of time and maybe try and learn more about the type of gardening that Yuki was interested in.

"My finds."

So grey eyes looked over to his companion. "Should we talk to the lady who greeted us when we got here?" His head gestured backwards where Nida had gone. "For your sensei I mean."
no subject
He glanced through the shelf in front of him and pulled out a book about farmers, passing it over to Yuki to glance at.
"I also have to get back to work soon. Not sure I can stay for too much longer." He pulled out another history book but this one was about the market practices. It might not help with gardening but it'd give them an idea of what was sold here.
Jacob glanced around and noticed that Nida was back at the table. "Looks like he found a few. I hope you don't mind if I leave you with Nida?" He looked at Yuki as if asking if the other man would be safe with his teacher. It was hard to tell if Jake was serious or not.

Disappointment went through him as he heard the other had to go back to work but of course he understood that. "Alright. So he took the other book without a complaint and tried to focus on the words written.
But then he was nervous. He really didn't know Jacob's sensei, and maybe the man had other things to do. And he was about to protest that he didn't need a babysitter when Nida's voice rang out clear enough to be heard. So the only thing the blonde saw was a smirk on Yuki's face.
no subject
He placed his hand over his heart and tried to steady his pulse. Jake was used to his teacher surprising him but that didn't mean he was used to it.
"Okay. Well I should get back to work but I'll help out afterwards and maybe we can find some answers to this... staying and going thing." Jacob figured that some people might even want to stay here so maybe the Creator could focus on those people instead of just grabbing people at random.
no subject
"I'll watch out for Yuki," he said as he closed the rest of the distance, smirking at Jacob. "Not like I was going anywhere else before dinner."
no subject
Right, the coming and going thing, and Yuki had no idea where to even start looking.
But he watched as Nida approached and couldn't understand it. He didn't need looked after and it reminded him of the time Hatsuharu told Kakeru to take care of him. But he kept his slight irritation hidden behind a nod to Jacob.
no subject
He turned to Yuki and grinned. "I'll keep looking in my down time and I'll let you know what I come across. So... I'll see you later." He was trying not to be awkward and very aware that Nida was watching him. "But yeah, I'll be at the shop if you need anything."
He stepped back after nodding once at Yuki and then again at Nida. He realized that Yuki didn't need someone watching him but it was natural for him to want his friend to be safe... right? Totally normal. Maybe he was being weird.
no subject
WHy would someone ever worry about him? Silly. Nida smiles and look at Yuki.
"I found some books. Wanna see them?"
no subject
Turning to Nida now, he refrained from asking questions the other might not be willing to answer, so he nodded. "Yes I'd like to see them, if you don't mind."
no subject
"So, Jacob, huh?"
no subject
But Nida's smile was uncomfortable in the sense that he got the impression the other was forming conclusions. So Yuki kept his voice level as he asked his question. "What about him?"
