Angeal was sitting outside of Haru's cafe, with an iced coffee in his hand. It really felt as if he should have something decidedly harder in his cup, but here he was. He picked up the glass and frowned at it, as if it were personally responsible for the situation here. Swirling the ice cubes slowly, he did that for a minute then took another sip of the drink.

He'd never tried iced coffee before and it wasn't bad at all.

Suddenly the sky seemed to darken and Angeal covered his precious drink as the raindrops became more persistent. Not looking at who was close by, he stood. "I suppose this means that we'll need to move inside now."

Listen, this was the weirdest thing. Zack was not a coffee guy (much to just about everyone's pleasure of course), and so it wasn't often that he was by Haru's. But he'd been making friends with this kid named Yusuke that was there, and so swinging by from time to time wasn't strange.

And it wasn't strange for him to be out in about as the rain started. That was... Listen he didn't have the best memories of the rain at this point, alright? So as the first drops started to fall he wanted to make a frustrated noise and book it into the shop he was walking up to.

Instead he hears a familiar voice. Not for the first time. But it leaves him frozen in place as he looks.

"Angeal?" he asks, his voice a bit strained. Was it him again? Could it really be him again?

Gathering up his meager things, Angeal was focused on those few possessions not getting completely soaked and ruined. But at the sound of that voice, his mako blue eyes focused and a smile appeared on his face.

"So you're still here I see."

He then nodded. "It's good to see you."

Dude don't just act like this is NOTHING! It's not nothing! It's totally something! He stares.

"Not sure where else I'd go. Not ready for the Lifestream yet. Not with people here that need me," he admits.

"Sounds like you're busy playing the hero here. And if that's the case then you're too busy for the Lifestream."

There was a smile in his tone because he was happy to see Zack. But in the meantime he was moving his things inside, just out of the reach of the rain.

Was he too busy? Too busy to be what he is? A lost soul, trying to do some good.

"Just trying to help people out. That's what you trained me for."

Though he moves to help Angeal move things inside of course. That's just polite.

Angeal smiled. "And you've benefited from that training, Soldier."

Once they're inside and his meager possessions are with him, Angeal turned his eyes to the rain for a moment before turning to Zack. "When's the last time that you ate?"

Yes, he really has. But he is quick to help Angeal, and once they're inside you better bet he's shaking the dampness out of his hair.

"Uh... Breakfast. But that was before my morning run."

So a long time ago.

"You started doing morning runs?" Funny, he couldn't get Zack to get up in the morning. Before that it was him and his dog, which made him wonder for the hundredth time what happened to him.

But he had overheard something about an animal rescue or shelter, so he was going to head there. However, he'd take care of this pup first.

"Then figure out where you want to eat before I head to my apartment." And pup hunting before that.

Yeah, he's had cause.

"Sorta got used to being active early in the morning when I was bringing Cloud back from Nibelheim."

So a morning run just felt natural now.

"You buying?"

Angeal looked at Zack when he mentioned being active in the morning, but nodded along. That would be fine and morning runs would definitely be a thing they could do.

All the more reason to find his furball to distract Zack.

But then the other soldier got a look. "I am, considering you should've eaten by now."

Zack would be easily distracted.

"Well, I'm not going to argue," he says, grinning. "I look forward to it."

Angeal smiled but only for a second. Leave it to Zack to not eat and want to be treated to food. Well, he could do that.

"Didn't think you would."

He looked back outside. "Looks like the rain's stopped at least."

Well he's not exactly running on no brain cells, but he does get distracted.

"That's good to hear. My hair needs a chance to dry out."

Angeal looked over at Zack and nodded.

"I'm sure your hair will be fine."

"Yeah, but it deserves to be dry," Zack says with a grin. Is that too much to ask?

There was an amused smirk.

"So we're supposed to sit around until your hair dries?"

Oh come on. Look at these sad puppy eyes. Don't you want to consider his drippiness.

"Maybe?"

Angeal sighed.

"Alright, get yourself something hot to drink and warm up at least."

"Awesome!" Zack says, bouncing before heading up to the counter. Yeah. He definitely wants the hot drinks.

Angeal shook his head with a smile. Zack's enthusiasm and energy hadn't changed a bit. So it took him a moment before he headed up and grabbed his wallet.

"Get me a hot chocolate with whipped cream on top."
