A Kitty and a Demon walk into a Forest
Who; Thomas (
prodigalvampire) and Shalimar (
abreedapart)
What; Trying to get to the bottom of the earthquake and power surge
Where; Starting at the commons, heading to the forest
When; After Thomas contacts Shalimar after The Captain’s post
Warnings; Nothing I can think of now, will update as necessary
Thomas had been laying low, reserving what energy he could because of a lack of sources to feed on, but the tables were turning. Something was going on in this place in which he’d found himself trapped, but he also didn’t think it was a good idea for him to go check it out alone. Shalimar was one of the few people here he’d spoken with casually, and one of the few people he’d decided would be capable enough for a field trip. He didn’t know much for sure about this place, but he did know that the earthquake had originated outside the city. It only served to reason it was south, through the forest, or at least all the weird bear sightings and imagery suggested something of the sort.
He found himself wishing his brother was around, even as he made his way downstairs where Shalimar and he had decided to meet to prepare before heading out of town. He’d shown up here with weapons, at least to get him through some of the nastier parts of town, but who knew how long they’d have to travel outside of town? Days? They needed provisions before they left either way.

"Came through...many cycles ago. Before the city of Outlanders."
Thomas' eyes narrowed at Lessch's explanation and he finally turned to regard Shalimar. Had hear heard that right? They came from another world but before the city? What the hell did that mean?

"You came here before the city? Where'd you come from? What happened to your world?" A part of her wondered how long she'd get away with asking so many questions. At least he seemed willing to answer them so far.

"We come from away. We are...same. Home was...lost." He shook his head again, seeming aggitated. "Too many questions."

"I'm sorry for your loss," she offered a sympathetic look. In the back of her mind she wondered what exact that meant for them. Would their homes be lost too or was his case different? "Thank you for answering my questions. Is there anything we can do for you?"

The lizard man shook his head and made a quick but intricate gesture with a hand. Movement in the trees around them reveals several other individuals in hiding who move away.
"No. Caution, though. The trees are wary of outlanders." With that, Lessch inclines his head. "You do not take and are welcome, but deeper, they are not forgiving."
