A Winter Adventure

Who; Aerith + Open
What; Event stuff
Where; Near the lodge, streets of the city, near her shop
When; Throughout the Month
Warnings; TBA

I. Stuck Outside
Aerith had never intended to be out this late. She'd been visiting with her flowers in her garden behind the hunting lodge in the southwestern borders of the Great Southern Forest. Time had gotten away from her and before she knew it the sun was setting. The cold was starting to set in and she knew that she probably should head back to the city itself. Not that she intended to just go back to her home, instead she meant to head to her shop back in the Market District. She had a large basket that she was gripping in one hand filled with flowers (that an observant person might notice weren't even in season) and her staff in the other hand. Everything seemed to go surprisingly well until the lights went out.

Not that she was scared. Or freaked out, or anything at all! She was perfectly fine. Fine and dandy. Well, at least she was until she felt the warm breath. Then she let out a scream as she jumped and gripped her staff even tighter.

"H-hello? If there's someone there you better show yourself!" Unless they were a ghost, in which case they could just stay away! She'd had more than enough of that thank you very much. She tapped her staff down and a little ball of light appeared around her. The thing flitted around bringing a bit of light as she continued to try to move forward without just running. (She really wanted to run.)

II. When the Mammets Attack
[ Today we meet Aerith shopping in the market. Of course, she's got a few flowers in her shopping basket just in case. However, she wasn't actually out today to sell her own flowers. No, today she was out to get some things for the holidays. Or at least that's what she'd hoped to do today. Alas, best laid planes and all of that!

It would seem that the universe wanted her to face mammets rather than accomplish any fun shopping. The first mammet she saw shouted at her: ]

Looking homely today, aren't you? Plain Jane coming through!

Hey! There's no need to be rude you little mechanical pest. [ Hey, if it was going to be rude, so was she! That's when it sent out an arrow that barely missed her ]

HEY! That was shockingly close. [ And as if to accentuate the word shocking, she moved her staff around and then sent out a spell that looked a lot like a a bolt of lightning. It struck down and the mammet sputtered before falling apart. That was one way to get rid of them right? Well, now that she knew these things were out there she was going to look around for anyone that might need help.

Find yourself being cornered? Maybe she can give you a hand

Yuki had been out getting some dog treats for Jacob's dog Shigure and once that had been achieved, he saw some Gingerbread cheesecake with little gingerbread men on them. Once that was purchased, he stopped for some Gysahl greens for Haru his chocobo and headed back to the house.

Once those were dropped off, he went to go to see the lights strung up around town. And that's when he found himself face to face with mechanical pests. Not having learned magic from sensei as of yet, Yuki pulled his sword out and managed to get a few gone before it seemed as if they kept coming.

Seeing himself surrounded, he shook his head and kept his sword steady. "I'm not going to die here."

Yuki turned to see a rather determined looking Miss Aerith holding her staff. Half of him thought the little things should run as fast as they could away from her looking like that as her staff came down.

He at least recognized that magic was happening and he lowered his sword as he noticed the lightning bolt come down. That was certainly handy. Could sensei teach him that kind of thing?

But at her pun, Yuki laughed just a little. Then of course he was out of time and moved to face the next set of opponents. After all, he couldn't let them get to Miss Aerith.

The grey head nodded, and he turned to the one that was casting. Sensei had always gone pretty easy on him magic wise, but magic wasn't a skill that he'd acquired just yet. Still, he'd dealt with sensei and had seen Miss Aerith with her lightning bolt so getting hit wouldn't be wise.

What was it that he'd heard from someone here? It was some wisdom about not giving a caster room to prepare magic and to get in their face. Thinking on that now, he pulled his sword from its position with the tip hovering up over his shoulder with his arm bent (ok so he'd gone to the Arena a few times just to try and pick up on more sword techniques and the pose looked cool) and brought it down to his side.

With a determined sigh at keeping the lady safe, he went for the caster immediately.

It was all, but while he swung his sword at the thing, whatever passed for a leg swung around and shocked him. It brought back old haunts and the grey head shook, making sure to focus on his opponent instead of the strange sensation.

Still, he tried to lift his spirit in dealing with it, and ended up stabbing it through the top until it flopped around a second before stopping.

"Alright, let's get them taken care of." Yuki replied, waiting for Miss Aerith's spell.
