[The camera turns on and Terra is holding a string of lights in front of his new place that's all fixed up. A cup of something hot is steaming in a cup not too far from him, but he's busy and focused on the multicoloured lights. Looking at the lights, it seems as if he's counting something, but then he shakes his head.

Noticing the camera on at that moment, he then nods at it.]

I'm..not the only one hanging lights here, right?

"I see." Terra replied. He really didn't want to get in it if that wince is any sort of indication.

Still, he rolls along with Zack.

"Is there anything here that reminds you of there?"

Anything here that reminds him...

"I guess the forest here sorta makes me think of Gongaga, but no, not a lot of things. But there are other things from my world here. My best friend. The girl I like. It's been nice to have them."

"It's good to have your friends here." Terra replied. He considered Zack a sort of friend since he knew him from home, but it didn't register in the other's head so he let it go.

"Yeah," he says, like it's not stupidly complicated and he's fallen for them both and how do you make that work?

[orangewayfinder]

"So they're not with you?" Terra asked curiously. Zack had a sort of aura that made people want to follow him, or at least that Terra had noted.

"I don't know. It's complicated. They're here, but we don't spend every waking hour together or something."

He would. God would he ever.

[orangewayfinder]

Terra shook his head. "Well maybe they have other things to do." It sounded sort of odd to him because he was sure that if Aqua or Ven were here, they would totally be with him just about all of the time.

But maybe that's not how other friendships worked.

"I mean, yeah. Of course they do. Aerith's got a shop and Cloud just faces down anything that ever comes up."

So of course they were too busy.

"So he's a warrior like yourself." Terra smiled. Well that was good for Zack, it gave him a lot of ways to relate, right? His own friends were keyblade bearers, and Aqua was a master.

"Yeah! I think he's decided to take after me. I really do approve."

Because the guy was just so much stronger now than he had been before.

"You approve.." Terra had to laugh a little. "Well approval is good. Does he have your sense of humour too?"

He really hoped to come across this guy.

"I mean, once he did. He doesn't now," Zack says with a sigh. His spike grew up without him in a few months, and the changes can be weird.

He really wasn't sure that he understood because Ven had been the reverse, but he nodded anyway.

"Maybe he'll go back to his old self. It's probably just a matter of time."

No. No Zack doesn't think that's likely. Not after mako poisoning. Not after what they saw. Not after what happened to them.

"Some thigns don't just fade with time."

Terra could relate. He woke up in the middle of the night sometimes with things he had seen and gone through. He had just hoped Cloud might have an easier time of things unlike himself.

"So..if he doesn't, then what's the plan?"

"I don't know," Zack admits. He hadn't been the sort to deal with this stuff before. And he wasn't the sort to know how to figure out things on this sort of scale. Matters of the heart that could be weird.

"I just want him to smile again. Kid's got a good one."

Terra smiled but only slightly. Zack wasn't different in some ways when he was younger and they'd met in the Olympian Coliseum back in Greece.

"I'm sure he'll smile being around you."

Because Zack had that kind of personality. He'd even cheered Terra up after their match, and had gone from frowny to smiling.

Perhaps. But Zack didn't know. He'd tried so hard for so long, and he'd only managed to get Cloud somewhere safe. Where the rest of the change had come from...

"Sometimes it's hard to come back from bad things," he says.

[orangewayfinder]

"But bad things happen and it helps to have your friends around while you try to come to terms with things."

Even if this Cloud person didn't forgive himself or whatever the case was, having Zack and Aerith around had to be a positive thing. Terra knew that he leaned on Aqua and Ven being around after his long stay in the darkness.

There Terra isn't wrong at all, but that doesn't make any of it easier to get Cloud to accept.

"I'm doing my best. I just... I want to be good enough for them. To make their lives happier and easier."

[orangewayfinder]

Terra had to smile.

"That sounds like the you I met back in the Coliseum. But I'm sure you'll do what you're trying to do, even if it might look at times like you're not accomplishing anything. But you're around and you want to help. That'll count to them."

Huh. That's true.

"You're pretty smart, Terra," Zack says, smiling widely.

[orangewayfinder]

"Thanks Zack."

That meant a lot, coming from the kid he met in the Coliseum. But Ven had spoken highly of him too, and Aqua..she'd been embarrassed when she talked about meeting Zack. Still, these were the words he never said to his own friends, so maybe they'd help this guy make them count.

"Why are you thanking me for your good advice?" Zack asks, clearly confused. What's up with that man?

Terra blinked and then laughed a little.

"Uh..sorry. Guess I got a little carried away."
