Halloween cafe

Ignis & Haru conspired to do a seasonally themed cafe. Haru was the barista, and Ignis played waiter. It was something he'd mentioned to Yusuke about going to see her and as he'd sat there in her cafe, Ignis had suggested the team up.

Flyers had been posted around the city at points in order get the word out and it was opened around sun set and in order to keep a 'spooky' feel about it. Lit Jack O' Lanterns and other candles burned in safe places around the small outdoor cafe.

Of course Ignis featured a few new dishes for people to sample. His own contributions consisted of Pumpkin Boo trifle, Trolltide Candied Apples, Mulled Tea, Vampire bites, and some Mummy dogs. As he served, he would recommend the things Haru had made before mentioning his own concoctions.

Naturally he had new themed dishes at the Lodge such as Spaghetti Monster Eye Balls, Beholder Pasta, and Witch Soup. There were two other variations on the trifle there as well, such as Cheesecake Fright cups and Haunted Graveyard Dirt which he had featured there before this collaboration.

But whenever someone sat down, Ignis would nod at them. "Welcome to the cafe, please have a seat. My name is Ignis and I shall be your server this evening."

Ignis smiled. "No. It's simply a matter of combining forces just for this evening. I am fully prepared to wait tables, but also chat up people about going to see Haru's cafe."

"The place with the coffee?" she asks as she gestures that she is ready for tables.

"Yes." Ignis replied with a smile on his face. "I thought with the spooky season upon us, teaming up would be a treat for all of the city."

With that, he led her to a small table and gestured for her to sit.

Lauri is happy to sit as she considers his words.

"Is coffee a traditional thing for 'spooky'?"

She's not really familiar with the season as it was.

Ignis smiled. "Not necessarily, but Haru does a lovely rendition of spooky things such as witches or spiders or even spider web works of art on the top of the coffee. They're made with syrup and cream."

Haru is a wonderful person to have helped.

"I shall enjoy that then. I believe seasonal would make it tastier."

He nodded.

"In that case, I'll start you off with one of those and you can decide what else you'd like from there if that works for you."

"That will be lovely," she says with a delight and she moves to a table. Because the table was an important step of this, right?

[faithfulsupport]

Ignis slightly nodded with his head.

"In that case, I shall be right back."

And went to go get everything once Lauri-Ell was seated.

She was happy to be seated of course. There was something truly comfortable about these tables, even though she was larger than most patrons.

Ignis did well at preparing for all forms of guests.

Getting Lauri-Ell's order ready, he soon returned with it. His green eyes slid over to the other tables and they were being waited on. There weren't as many customers as he had thought but he also knew that could change in a moment. So for now he moved to serve her drink and a pumpkin had been drawn on top of it in chocolate.

"There you are. Now, have you had a chance to peruse the menu?"

Oh! A pumpkin! She grins to see it. How beautiful.

"I have. I see you have some nice soups. Can I try the one you think is the most warming? I like warm soups."

Ignis immediately noticed Lauri-Ell's delight and smiled. But that faded quickly as he became 'all business' as Prompto said. A pen was clicked and a small notepad appeared as he wrote down that she wanted a soup.

"Are you per chance searching for something hearty? Or are you thinking something lighter?"

"I think hearty would be good. This is good for the cold, yes?"

It seems like it could be nice to have something warm when it's cold.

Ignis nodded as he wrote things down. "Excellent choice. We have a hearty chicken, a hearty beef, and a new one called clam chowder. All come with salad and breadsticks if that's suitable."

"What are clams? I should like to try them. And yes, I would love a salad. A large one. With whatever fresh things you have with it. And only oil and vinegar maybe lemon and black pepper."

She didn't like complicated dressings for her salads.

He cocked his head to the side at the question as he tried to explain. "Clams are mollusks and come from the sea."

Having said that, he wrote down what Lauri-Ell requested and nodded. "Alright, I will get this order started and have it ready to you as soon as possible."

Clams are mollusks? What are mollusks?

"Do not rush on my behalf," she says with a smile. "But I am quite happy to be patient for food such as yours."

Ignis smiled. "I am not one to let my customers go hungry. But you won't have a long wait. Haru has been quite busy along with myself so it should be ready in a jiffy."

With a slight nod, he walked off to go get her order going and wait on others after it was put through.

"Oh, the young woman who talks about plants and coffee. She is a delight."

It would be nice to try it though.

[faithfulsupport]

"That she is, indeed." Ignis replied over his shoulder with a smile.

And then he left.

Well, Lauri doesn't have much else to do but wait for service. Good thing she brought a book and is a very patient woman.

He moved as fast as he could, and after a few minutes he brought out the requested fare to her table.

"Alright, give me a moment, and I will set these plates down."

[kree_soldieress]

When he returns she smiles warmly.

"Do you require assistance?"

[faithfulsupport]

"Not at all." Ignis replied, setting things down. Once that was done he nodded.

"Can I get you anything else?"

[kree_soldieress]

"For now I am content," she promises him with a smile. "I will signal if I require more I think."

[faithfulsupport]

He smiled. "Indeed. Inform me at once, and I'll get your order ready should you wish for something else."
