My friends I bring exciting news! I have mastered the creation of the loafed meat! And I have acquired tools known as 'cooker of rice' and 'fryer by air' and even a 'maker of bread'!

I told others I would speak to them if I acquired such things, and learned such cooking. Please, come over! I have made an abundance in my room. There are loaves of meat and of bread. There are prepared rices. I even tried this 'fryer of air' on pieces of chicken to make 'nuggets' and they are a wonder!

Have of this bounty my friends!

[She smiles and moves for the stairs, happily heading up them at great speed. Not that she's rushing, just that her legs are very long and strong.]

[ Yusuke keeps up as well as one could expect, given their difference in height, though he is the tallest of his friends… Lauri-Ell has a considerable height by comparison to most people. Smiling at the comment, he offers a little gesture as he climbs the stairs behind her. ]

And I am glad to help, seems as though you’ve already done quite a bit with all the cooking to try your new appliances and the set up you’ve already done.

I promised many that I would make attempts to learn new things. I did not get to learn much through trial and error and experience back home. It is nice to learn new things. New arts.

Especially when you can choose to learn them rather than having them bestowed upon you by orders.

Indeed, it can be… More difficult, I think, to truly enjoy something when you’ve been forced to do it by order or expectation rather than by choice.

And much of what I have learned has been about what I was forced to learn. I am glad to have choices.

[ Yusuke hummed lightly. It seemed a shame to force someone to learn something that they may not have any interest in. ]

There are many interesting things in the world to learn. I myself have recently been taught to bake by a friend here. [ Not loafs of bread, though. Those would be more practical than cupcakes, perhaps. ] Are there other things you’d like to learn??

Many things. What clothes are flattering. How to talk to pretty women. How to pet a chocobo so it makes that cooing sound.

[ Yusuke nodded as he followed along as she listed off what kinds of things she’d liked to learn. ]

I believe with all of those, practice is key, or at least I would suppose so? [ Though in his own experience, he cannot say he’s ever been ‘good’ at one of those things now and again. At least not based on feedback. Glancing up, though, he realized he didn’t pay chocobos nearly enough attention in this city. ] I didn’t even know chocobos made cooing sounds.

Yes, practice seems to be the requirement for the acquisition of all sorts of skills. However some of them I don't even know the initial standards for, so I do not know how to practice at them.

[She does smile though, because she's taught him something.]

It is a beautiful sound, almost like purring.

That’s true enough. Sometimes even I am unsure of some subjects. I was rather occupied by other things for a long while; I suppose. So there is much I have yet to learn or experience myself. But people are quick to voice if you’ve said something off or gotten something wrong? So that helps, I think, as embarrassing as it can be.

[ So confusing and embarrassing. But Yusuke looked rather awed by the idea of a chocobo making such noises. ]

If you learn how to get such a reaction from them, I should like to hear it for myself!

Why would it be embarrassing?

[She was so rarely embarrassed by things that humans were.]

I shall tell you of success. I suppose you are not familiar with the other things then. Seems not.

Perhaps not always embarrassing, but sometimes I realize after the fact that something should have been more apparent or natural to know. Especially based on the reactions of others.

[ It could be a bit confusing at times. Then again, Lauri-Ell might not be expected to know such things easily. ]

I look forward to hearing it! Oh… Well, fashion is an interesting subject, I admit… There are certainly some things meant to be worn properly, and other things that are a matter of taste?

Take some traditional clothing, for example. There are specific ways the garments should be put on and worn with proper thought and respect.

I would say a strong tie to a place and the people in it culturally. Take the kimono for instance, they used to be common attire… And some might still wear them if that happens to be their preference, of course… But now they are most often worn formally, for weddings and other ceremonies, or during special occasions like festivals.

Hm… [ The teen awkwardly tries to think of how to better explain that, but showing is easier than telling, and he has a whole book of sketches in his bag. Naturally. Pausing on the stairs, he tugs it out and begins walking again as he flipped through the pages. Past the sketches of sea creatures and landscapes to one of a more traditional design, where the figures were wearing kimonos. ] This would be what kimonos look like.

[Or really complex capes. How interesting. She stops them on her floor and leans in to look closer.]

They look nice.

They are quite lovely, and comfortable to wear. I had a couple in my own world, one of a heavier material and a yukata for the summer- which would be a lighter weight material.
