A. Video post

[ Illyana's got a coat on with the hood pulled up tightly around her head. Standing next to her is a strange snowman. She waves one of her fluffy sleeves back and forth in front of it as if she expects it to come alive.

Truth be told, she kind of does. But she knows she wasn't the one to make this and she certainly hadn't enchanted it like she had as a trick last year. So, when nothing happens she just shrugs and looks directly at the camera. ]

So, who made all our new friends? Think they'd be up for being extra's in a movie? [ She looks back at the snowman whos suddenly smiling. Well that was...weird. ] Was it smiling before? [ She glares at it for a moment and then shakes her head. ] If they're enchanted, I'm not taking the blame. [ But she does want to know if others are seeing them pop up around.

B. Do You Want to Kill a Snowman?

[ After spending most of the last few days watching these weird snowman that she was very certain had actually change their expression several times, Illyana had eventually found the answer she'd been looking for. It wasn't the one she'd wanted but an answer was an answer. They were in fact alive. The last thing she'd expected was to be attacked by a killer snowman in the cemetery late at night but that was exactly what had happened. It'd taken something when it touched her, memories of someone close to her that she couldn't quite find now. That wasn't all it took though, usually when she found herself in a bad situation she'd teleport away. But that didn't even occur to her now.

Actually, the only thing that was occurring to her was the fact that for a snowman that thing had been really fast. Somehow it'd gotten away again. That was twice now she'd tracked it down and it'd touched her, something had gone, and then it'd escaped. This time though she'd been left wet and nearly freezing from it's attack. A shiver ran through her body as she picked herself up from the tombstone she'd fallen next to. One of her gloves had slipped off at some point during the scuffle with it and her hand was starting to feel vaguely numb. She blinked several times as she looked around with a disoriented expression. Why did it feel like something was missing? Something important but what was it?

She took a step forward uneasily and then stumbled back down. ] I'll find you...[ she muttered the words angrily as she tried to push herself to reorient and gather herself.

Illyana will be slowly making her way back through the city and back to her building. Strangely without choosing to teleport. Feel free to find her along the way or run into her another day as she searches for the snowman that took something from her. ]

I didn’t make them either. [ Though he had been practicing since they talked about making a movie. ] I thought you coulda made them since they kinda seem like they’re special, like the one you made come alive last winter!

[ The boy blinked. The snowman definitely had not been smiling before. ] Maybe it likes the idea of being in our movie?

[soulsword]

I didn't think you had. Not this many in so many locations. [ She frowned ever so slightly and shook her head. ] Nope. Didn't make them either. But they don't seem completely normal.

[ Which is a bit concerning. ] You think so? I couldn't blame them for wanting to be stars.

[monochromatically]

Maybe someone heard us talking about the movie we wanna make and wanted to help? [ Then again… The slight concern in Illyana’s voice and the frown that had crossed her face did signal his own wariness again. The fact that she hadn’t been behind them made them seem less harmless than they had when he thought she might have. Plus, if Illyana was uncertain of something? That seemed like a good sign to pay attention to the boy. ] Do you think they might be something bad instead? Like they start smiling ‘cause of something that we wouldn’t like?

[soulsword]

Someone like who? The Aspects? [ Mmm, and she finds it extremely disturbing to think about people listening in on them like that. Not that she's going to bring that up to Mono. ]

Not sure. But I don't trust it that much and I'd suggest you do the same.

[monochromatically]

Maybe? But if it was them, then it might turn really bad, they don’t seem very good at doing stuff… [… It’s sad but even the boy is kind of worried about that idea. Sorry Athony and Halcyn, the 10-year-old even knows you guys are bad at your jobs. ] But there were kinda a lot of people at the movie night, so maybe it was someone else?

[ The confirmation that he shouldn’t trust them gets a very serious nod. ] Yeah… I’ll be real careful and watch em when I’m out, just in case they turn out to be dangerous.

True they seem to mess it up every time. [ She clicks her tongue thoughtfully. ] Maybe. The only other person I know of with magic is Harry. But I don't know everyone. [ Because she doesn't care to. She's the worst. ]

Everything here becomes dangerous eventually. If anything does, you should come to me.

[monochromatically]

Exactly! Every time they do something, they mess it all up, and they don’t even tell us till after sometimes. [ So maybe they were the ones who did this!… Which was not comforting to the boy, but knowing to be wary of them was good. That said, it was good to consider other people too… Just to be on the safe side. ] Harry did help me with my snowmen and fort last winter… But I dunno, do you think he’d make magic snowmen like this?

[ Mono tried to think of other people with magic, and he knew there were others given his tendency to follow and spy on people… But he didn’t know any of them well enough to know what they were capable of beyond Illyana and Harry. ]

Yeah, it’d be kinda nice if there were things that didn’t turn dangerous and bad sometimes… But I promise I will if something does!

[ And the boy meant that. It was hard to not look up to Illyana, at least to him, and she really seemed to know what to do when it came to stuff like this. ]

[He's frowning as soon as the feed initializes, but not at her. Someone should probably take a look at these snowmen.]

Nope, not at all.

[And you know, it hadn't even occurred to him that she might have been responsible until she denied it.]

...nah, mischief would be too simple. They're probably killer snowmen. We haven't done that one yet.

Killer snowmen seems pretty paranoid. [ But...probably not wrong. ] At least killer snowmen wouldn't be too dangerous to deal with.

[And just because you're paranoid, etc etc.]

That depends on whether they're just animated snowmen or possessed snowmen, and just what they're possessed by.

Not surprising at all. [ She sounds mildly amused. ]

Possessed is a big jump to make.

I'll take that as a compliment.

[A grin.]

You just made that up right here didn't you?

Do you want to kill a snowman?

[Dangerous situations didn't usually keep Jagger from leaving his building after hours and this was no exception. He was fairly certain from observation alone the snowmen around town were dangerous, somehow animated, and should be avoided and he did that, at least. He was pretty good at keeping away from things that could potentially hurt him, but his curiosity would let him stay somewhere safe until it blew over, and the spells she'd taught him for protect went a long way to keeping him safe anyway.

Thought of his own safety fled quickly when he rounded a corner and saw Illyana walking slowing down the street. Something was wrong, he could feel it.]

Illyana?

[He shouted, even though it might not be the best idea.] Are you alright, love?

[He moved to close the distance between the two of them.]

[ Was she alright? Debatable answer. Aside from the wet and cold she wasn't too injured. Well, if she ignored the lightheaded feeling she had and the fact that she felt like there were weird patches missing in her memory.

She blinks at him and then narrows her eyes. ] How do you know my name? [ It was never a good sign when someone seemed familiar and knew her name. ]

[That may have been the last question he expected to hear from her and it gave him pause, his brow lowering in concern.]

What do you mean how do I know your name? It's me, love. Jagger.

[soulsword]

[ Okay, so he clearly knew her. Or thought he did. She could count on one hand the number of people that spoke to her with such familiarity. Which only rose suspicions even more. ] Doesn't ring a bell.

[He frowned at that response, more than a little concerned. He'd never been able to read her unless she wanted him to, something about her demonic lineage, so he wouldn't try it.

Instead, he'd take the more direct approach.]

...okay. So, can we assume for a moment I do know you, and I ask you a question or two?

[soulsword]

Then I'll wonder how you learned that information. [ Logically she knew there wasn't a reason to be intently suspicious of someone here. Not that it changed the fact that she was pretty suspicious right now. ]

[He finds her walking, and Nida can't just stand back. It's cold out, she looks wet, and it seems like the woman is just a mess. The guardsman moved to intercept her, looking concerned.]

Illyana? Are you okay?

[soulsword]

[ She tries to push herself up, determined to do everything on her own just like she was rather used to. Everything feels strangely disorienting though and she blinks several times. ]

Yeah. I'm great. [ Not...really. But she's going to pretend. ]

I totally buy how convincing that was said.

[And he's still worried because she doesn't seem in a good state and he takes another step forward.]

Seriously, I hate to say it, but you look like hell.

[soulsword]

I'm always convincing. [ She says trying to convince herself. ]

Irony at it's finest. [ Someone that grew up in limbo looking like hell. She'd usually find that funny. ] A snowman attacked me. Yeah. I know how that sounds.

[Yep, definitely always convincing. That's definitely true here.]

That sounds not to shocking, actually. I've been attacked by weirder things in the past. I'm just not pleased to hear it happens.

[soulsword]

Really? Now you'll have to tell me about the weirder things. [ At least it'll be a distraction from her current state. ] Should probably be on the lookout for them though. If I was attacked, others probably will be.
