[ Llewellyn Watts-Maresh wasn’t entirely unused to the idea of his memories being shared with the world around him, but… He still not fond of the experience. Especially given there were now a lot of things that he’d rather not be seen, after his recent trip back to his own world.

Once the situation is brought to his attention, he will likely find his way home for the day for obvious reasons. ]

Things would be much easier if John were honest about little facts from the start, but it’s not the first time he’s kept things that would have been good to know to himself. I’m not entirely sure why he feels the need to omit certain things or keep quiet. Sometimes I wonder if it might be because of how his father reacts and his constant seeking of his approval. [ He offered a small, awkward nod. ] It certainly was, though he handled it better than I expected? Still feel bad for Mrs. Brackenreid. The shock of it was quite a lot for her.

Oh- yes, we did get the culprit not too long after that. Admittedly, John’s late information on the woman’s relationship and plans to divorce her husband helped to put the pieces together. Her husband was upset that she was planning to leave him and take her money with her.

I mean...it kinda looked like both his mom and dad overreact a bit. I guess you can't entirely blame him for being worried. Even if the worry leads to more of a mess later. [ Probably wouldn't be so bad if they'd just chill out some. ] The shock seems to have taken her real hard. Is she usually like that or was it just all a lot of stress at once?

Can't really blame him for being upset about that. Unless he was awful himself? Was he?

Mrs. Brackenreid… Tends towards being a little more dramatic, if I’m being honest. Though at that moment I think it was a lot of shock and stress at once, the family has been through a lot. [ Every time they turned around, something was happening. John had almost died not more than a few months prior to the play. ] But dramatics aside, she’s actually a rather kind woman.

[ She insisted her husband help Llewellyn rather than report him to their superiors when he found out about his sexuality. She was actually quite supportive and tolerable of those things. ]

I guess some people are just like that. [ Unfortunately. And it seemed like they couldn't really help it when they were. ] That's a shame that they were going through a lot of stuff and then had more shock thrown on them. Especially if she's a kind person.

Sooo are all your cases that complicated?

[ The question gets a small chuckle. It is a good question. ]

They shouldn’t be, but many of them are, yes. I do get the odd uh- easy case, but somehow the strange ones are always brought to my or Murdoch’s attention.

[ Or they just... happened... while they were literally standing or sitting there. ]

Lucky you, huh? At least it means you must always have an interesting time?

That’s certainly a way of putting it. I uh- admit it’s never boring...?

[ But it would sure be nice to not see most of them becoming absurd messes like that one had. Which wasn’t often. ]

Have you ever considered writing about them? Might make you a lot of money! [ With people that would definitely not believe that was a true story. ]

Hmm that’s not a bad idea, but I’m not much of a writer, I think... That would be George among my colleagues. He’s actually a published author on the side.

Then you could tell him the stories!

He’s actually there for most of them. He was even one of the people on stage when all that happened. He’s generally Murdoch’s partner on investigations, but he works with me on occasion as well. All of us had been invited that night to see the play when it all went poorly.

Oh! So I guess he already usually has the inside scoop then, huh?

Indeed, he’s been around a lot longer than I have as well. He’s written a couple of books, a series of what I believe are now called comic books, and helped Murdoch and Julia write a book about their past cases.
