Things would be much easier if John were honest about little facts from the start, but it’s not the first time he’s kept things that would have been good to know to himself. I’m not entirely sure why he feels the need to omit certain things or keep quiet. Sometimes I wonder if it might be because of how his father reacts and his constant seeking of his approval.
