Memory Share Broadcasts
[ It was an odd day.
One Lord El-Melloi II had never addressed the network properly before. In fact, he only tended to even respond to people on it if it seemed necessary or the subject sparked his interest. He wasn’t a social creature, after all. So it’s quite strange for there to be a series of broadcasts, all showcasing particular moments in his life that he certainly would not have been open to sharing. Although some might have been... a bit confusing, considering they seemed to focus on a young man named 'Waver Velvet.' If it weren't coming from his phone, some might not have made the connection.
Needless to say, once he realized what had happened? He was going to have the fun of explaining that… Either on the network, or (if anyone is bold enough to show up on his doorstep) in person should they find him hiding in his workshop in the harbor district. ]
Memories:
(Note: All of these are written versions of scenes and vary in length, as finding decent clips is a nightmare)
Class Ridicule and the Theft of a Relic - Fate/ Zero memory - Conent Warnings: Public humiliation, Nobles in mage society are elitist assholes - Wordcount: 1650
The King's Request - Fate/ Zero memory - Content Warnings: Acceptance/resignation towards the possibility of death - Wordcount: 963
Finding Family - Fate/ Zero memory - Content Warnings: None, the Mackenzies are too wholesome. Glen MacKenzie took one look at this teenager who tricked them with magic and decided 'Well, he's our grandson for real now.' - Wordcount: 805
Becoming Lord El-Melloi II - Casefiles Memory - Content Warning: Abduction, guilt, someone taking advantage of said guilt - Wordcount: 1887
A Collision and Absurd Nicknames - Casefiles Memory - Content Warnings: None, just Flat being ridiculous and getting on Waver’s last nerve - Wordcount: 1024

[ So that was interesting to have confirmed, anyway. The request gets a small pause before he nods to himself, despite knowing Harry can’t see. ] It’s fine by me. I admit the only reason I didn’t start out with it when I arrived was a force of habit, that’s all. Been a while since I’ve been Waver Velvet.
audio
[He's never going to be good at talking about significant others. Never.]
Heh, well, sounds like a damned good time to try it on again. Names are important, Waver. They're who you are.
audio
[ Harry’s awkward response concerning Ivy gets translated to ‘Probably more than friends’ in the professor’s head. But it’s okay, Harry. Waver is also terrible at talking about these things. In fact, he’s famously bad enough with the subject that he’d been teased about certain aspects of it and his seemingly eternal singleness more than once. So he gets the awkwardness. ]
You’re not wrong, considering the different world and lack of those who would expect something of me as a lord. [ Which had been refreshing in its own way, really. No requests or jobs to send him off to, whether he wants to or not. ] If I had my crest, I might even have been able to make some progress as a mage again. [ He mumbled thoughtfully, before a brow rose at the matter of names. ] I suppose you’re right about names… Someone back in my world likes to remind me of that now and again.
[ Melvin liked to still use his real name the odd time that they met up, to remind him that there was someone before Lord El-Melloi II and to make sure he didn’t fall too out of practice with hearing it for when Reines was finally of age to take over. Though Melvin was a bit… warped when it came to how he treated his friends, he did worry about how Waver would fare after everything. If he’d be lonely or out of place. ]
audio
[And I'm terrified of commitment in the grounds that I've only ever caused the death and/or emotional dismemberment of my significant others so I'm a little scared.]
Maybe we can figure something out about the crest. My magic is better with foci, too, and when I say 'names' I mean it literally. If someone knows your True Name, they can compel you.
audio
[ Relationships and feelings were weird, and vaguely scary in general, if you asked him. That said, he would probably understand Harry’s fear better if he knew why the guy was so awkward about Ivy. ]
Hm… I suppose with Raimon it might be possible to get here, depending on if there are rules to what he can bring that I haven’t come across yet. It’s currently in someone else’s possession as collateral for the El-Melloi debt. [ Reines had made sure he wouldn’t run away at some point, by having someone remove the one thing from Waver that no mage would risk losing permanently. ] But even then, the process of returning it to me might be complicated to do myself.
[ The name thing gets a raised brow. ] I admit, that’s not something I’ve come across… Names are important to the fae, at least from some reading I’ve done… [ Which he wouldn’t rule out as being the truth, of course. He’d just had a case involving the fae. ] Though it’s very rare to come across them since they left our world for the Reverse Side.
Though you almost make it sound like it’s better that I have more than one name, though.
Re: audio
Yeah. Really complicated.
[Like, Waver has no way of knowing how complicated, and Harry lacks the energy or the motivation to explain at the moment.]
I don't think the gnome has problems with 'complicated acquisitions'. [At least not the way Harry'd seen.]
They're important to everyone, and it is. My mom and dad gave me four.
audio
True… He somehow got one of my handheld consoles here and it works despite the fact that it doesn’t quite fit the kind of era this world reflects. [ He frowned slightly. It’s a weird feeling to know he could recover it here… Even if it was only while in this world, it was still well before he’d come close to paying off his debt. The question was, did he intend to try to perform the complicated ritual on himself to put it back where it was supposed to be? Was he even capable of doing that kind of thing… ] I suppose you’ve given me something to consider.
Four, huh? So very important in your world. [ And the professor pauses for a moment, a particular student’s antics crossing his mind. If he heard that, his ridiculous attempts and bestowing nicknames and titles would never end. In fact, they’d get worse. ] If you don’t mind, if a kid by the name of Flat Escardos ever appears, don’t share that information with him.
audio
[And the more complicated they were, the more likely they were to fail. He could kill a copier at 50 paces.]
It only shows how much I trust you that I even told you about the names.
audio
[ That was a weird thing to take into consideration, that someone trusted him that much. Mages generally didn’t trust each other in general, and certainly not with weaknesses. They were a lot of backstabbing assholes, always looking for a grab for power and prestige. Which was why Reines often thought him a bit too earnest for a mage, but it made him easier for her to tie down. So his tone was a little awkward as he responded. ]
Ah… Not sure that kind of trust is warranted, but consider me honored by it.
audio
[He could commiserate on the older generation, though. Some wizards were hundreds of years old. Talk about not changing with the times.
He smiled, though, not meeting Waver's eyes.]
I told you how many there are, not what they are.
audio
[ The comment gets a slight, knowing tilt of his head. ]
True, but it’s still more than most mages would risk sharing where I come from.
audio
Wizards only disclose information in one situation, Waver: we know we can handle it.
audio
Ah… So not so different. It’s not like I’m a difficult mage to handle, either. [ He let out a small sigh. It isn’t like Harry hadn’t seen how inept he was when coming up against things. The difference in their capabilities and power was fairly obvious. Between that and his seeing Harry as an ally, Waver wasn’t a threat. ]
audio
[He chuckles.] You want to know what can stop the most powerful wizard in the world?
audio
What might that be? [ The chuckle gives him the idea it’s going to be a bit absurd sounding. ]
audio
[He smiled before continuing.]
A gun.

Agreed, this place has given me the idea that there are already enough things to worry about, without that.
Re: audio
You could say that again.
audio
[ Things have a way of happening the more you talk about it. It’s like the someone thinks they're funny. ]
But thanks Harry, you’ve given me a lot to think about today.
[ He’s awkward, but he does have manners, and this whole weird situation with his memories and their conversation had at least done some good concerning the name thing. ]
