002 [Closed] ~ ୧T-T୨ ~ I'm not sad...
Who; Yuffie & Leon
What; Missing home...
Where; Roof top of Gray Building
When; September 22nd
Warnings; N/A
The young ninja sat with her legs tucked beneath her, precariously leaning over the edge of the high roof. She'd forgotten where she had wandered in the city but the view was busy as patrons of the nearby taverns wandered in and out, noise errupting each time the door swung open. Night had just fallen and the chilling air bit at the girls skin in a familiar way.
How long had it been since she'd been home? Her eyes stung and her head bowed as she quickly wiped away the offensive display of emotion. "Stupid, what are you thinking?" She thought she was alone but her attention had quickly turned inward.
She wasn't alone but the lack of memories stung the ninja princess more than she was willing to admit. At first she'd just been happy to see Aerth again and stalk Cloud, like old times, but they didn't really know her. It felt like she was starting all over again and the loneliness was crushing. She used to be good at being alone but at some point in her adventures that had all changed.
"Get yourself together." She mumbled to herself before clapping both hands over her cheeks. She didn't want to cry but nothing seemed to stop her teats.
At least she was alone or so she thought...

He was still trying to make sense of this damn place and couldn't somehow get anything to make sense. But as he made his way out of the tavern, he decided a walk might help clear his head. It usually did back home in Radiant Garden anyway.
With a sigh, Leon kept walking, but stopped when he thought he heard someone ask what he was thinking. Blue eyes blinked, but no one was there or at least not that he saw. Great, just what he needed. Here he was out trying to clear his head and now he was hearing things?
But then he heard something that sounded like sobs and he stopped again, hearing that voice. Get himself together? What? So it took him a moment and he spied a familiar shape. Yup, there she was, high up just like a cat.
"Yuffie?"

She prayed that the darkness hid her tears but even so, she was quick to wipe at her cheeks. Yuffie was sitting two stories up and while the 20 foot distance wasn't too far to talk, it was a bit of a struggle to raise her voice. At the same time, she wasn't ready to jump down and talk face to face.
Why did he have to run into her when she was like this?

It was his way of saying she was in a class by herself, but this Yuffie along with probably even the other wouldn't get that. It was better that way.
So Leon sighed, and he put his back to the wall and crossed his arms. "So, are you gonna tell me what's going on?"

"Anyway, I was talking to myself." Which was probably an indication that she needed to stop spending so much time on her own.
Yuffie looked down at the top of Leon's head and exhaled a slow measured breath. She waited for a few long seconds before jumping down next to him, her shoulder blades pressed against the cool brick and she crossed her arms to mirror Leon's posture.
She didn't want to look at him, not if she was really going to talk about what was bothering her. "Don't you ever miss it?" Her voice was soft and surprisingly serious. "Home...friends that know who you are." Only Zack knew her and they were never particularly close. She had stalked him and somehow thought she was doing something to help... it was really stupid and it made being friends now awkward. He only saw her as a kid.

But then she jumped down and mimicked him. It was adorable.
However, she got his attention at the part about home. He wouldn't admit he missed Yuffie because that was too much. But he missed Cloud and Aerith even if he'd only met Aerith. The blonde was as elusive as ever, but Leon knew their paths would cross at some point so it wasn't like he was worried about it.
Still, he nodded. "People I know show up as almost a mockery here." And he meant that with her too but this wasn't about him. "So what's the first thing you're gonna do when you get back?"

"I'm not sure." She wanted to return to Wutai but sometimes it didn't feel like she belonged there. Not after what happened with Yuri and her father... "I might not do anything when I get back."
"At least people knew who I was there."

His head slightly moved to the side at hearing this not knowing answer. He figured she'd have a list in her mind at least. "Might do anything?" This was genuine surprise in his tone. "You always have something to do."
Or someone to pester.
