Two hours and sixteen minutes. That's how long it takes him to finish what he was doing and then find the florist shop. With the help from other people's directions he'd found the markets once more. And, luck of all lucks, his eyes had caught a little jewelery stall on the way there.
It was a sign, he had decided, when his eyes had caught sight of a set of little pink earrings. Sure, it wasn't the sort of stud he usually preferred, but promises were promises. He'd bought them on the spot, tucked his silver stud carefully into a seam of his pants to keep is safe, and put the earring with the small and importantly pink earring in his ear. There, perfect. Not as much as he'd want, but it would do. And hey, he thought he looked good with the little carved rose.
He was perfect, and so he got directions and... Well, he'd come here. To stand outside of the florist shop. There were deep breaths to be had, psyching himself up. And then, at last, he pushed his way in.

Damn but he felt alive. Impossibly alive. Properly alive. Better not to think on it too much. For now, Zack had to figure out what he was going to do with himself. But now he was somewhere that the three people most important to him all were, ShinRa wasn't going to be able to come after them, and hey, no monsters.
Now if only he could figure out what else he wanted to do with himself now that he was here. Well, he supposed there were some options. Like what Zack was doing right now. He sat on the edge of the fountain, smiling up at the sky, breathing deeply. A world without the taint of mako in the air. A world without the war that he'd seen the tail end of. A world with hope.
"Damn it's beautiful here," he laughed to himself.
His energy didn't let him stay relaxed for long, though. So, while he wanted to experience the pleasure of the sights, and the wonder of the fountain, he had to be doing something. So Zack bounced to his feet and started to go through some squats, even as he let his eyes wander so he could watch it all.
"The world could do with more places like this."

"Something happened and Sephiroth showed up before he should have." Did that make sense? It didn't make sense to her really. Not completely. "Then these things started showing up. Whispers. The arbiters of fate, beings born of the planet that were meant to keep fate on the right path. We fought them. Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red, and I. We fought Sephiroth and then we fought them and I guess...well, I guess we killed Fate. Fate with a capital F."
no subject
“You and Cloud fighting fate, huh? That’d be a thing to see. I’m sorry I wasn’t there to help, but I guess we both know that was never going to happen.”
no subject
She shook her head. "I wish you had been there. But...maybe there's still a chance now that we've changed things?" She knew that was probably just wishful thinking. Even if they had killed Fate, it probably wasn't going to change his fate. Or her own. It was still a nice thought though, wasn't it? To think there was some sort of chance that they'd all run into each other and then they'd face Sephiroth all together. She gave him a little smile touched with just the slightest hint of sadness.
"I guess you'll just have to make it up to us here, huh? If Fate ever shows up we can all tackle it together."
no subject
“I intend to make up for it here. To find a place. To figure it out. And hey, if it shows up here, then you’ll have me to help. Once I get a weapon.”

"You are super helpful Aerith. And pretty pretty. But you know I don't wanna just ask you for money. Not any more than you would have wanted to do the same to me back home."
no subject
"Only pretty pretty?" she teased with a tiny smile. "I know. I figured I'd offer anyway. Even if I knew you'd say no."
no subject
Honestly, he figured saying that would help move on from the question of him borrowing money.
"So, did you help Cloud get out of his Mako Poisoning?"
no subject
"No, I think...he's better? Kind of. Sometimes I worry about pushing too much. He...his memories seem really off. He just seems to go away?" That probably didn't make much sense.
no subject
Still, going away worries him.
"Think there's any way I can help him?"
no subject
"I'm not sure. Maybe seeing you and talking to you will actually help to not get lost. He could use friends." They'd been friends one before, so surely they could again, right?
no subject
"I'll see what I can do. It's a shame to not have him as bright and sunny as I remember him being. But he's not going to get away with not being friendly to me. You know me, Aerith."

But now he's got a mission and he grins at it. Yeah, that sounds about right.
