Okay, so here's how it is. There's this new road to this 'Academy place' the locals are acting like was always there. And they're fretting over it like mother fucking hens without some brood or whatever you call a group of chicks. So, let's all be honest and admit we're curious.

And ain't all of you lucky that you've got me here. Who isn't lucky when there is a speedster around? Basically, I'm gonna go check it out, see what's up and all that. But figure it's probably best to buddy system this. Anyone up for the trip? If you've got a chocobo you can ride. Otherwise I'll carry you.

I also need someone to help and watch out for the kids at the market for me while I do it. Gotta keep the business going smooth and all that. So, who's up for it?

Things change and people act like whatever happens it's been there all along. Like the Coliseum for example. It wasn't there, then it was and people didn't seem shocked. So someone has to know something about it.

Yeah. I've heard about shit like that. Like that fancy chocolate place. It wasn't there earlier, and now it just is and it always has been or something? Gods of this place don't seem to get the concept of a timeline.

It's almost kinda creepy.

[But he did have designs to go check out that chocolate place. It was always a good thing to check stuff out, even if he was sure they wouldn't be selling anything that he was familiar with.

With a sigh, he looked over at Tommy, trying to change the topic.]

Have you visited the chocolate place?

Oh no, it's absolutely creepy.

But yeah, I've visited. I do deliveries for them sometimes. They gave me sweets for the kids.

[That had him surprised as they walked on.]

Kids?

[Terra wondered if Tommy had kids or if he just delivered food to them.]

My business. I wanted... I want to help the kids here, that don't have much. I pay them all rather well, give them close that I claim I do for uniform but I want them with new clothes. And shoes. And snacks.

I... My boyfriend's gone and I'm all alone. But they still need me.

[Tommy's words helped illuminate the situation and that had him do a double take at the end.]

Sounds like a big project just for one person.

[Somehow he wondered how the man managed it on his own without the help of his boyfriend.]

[He's alone, and Tommy forces a smile onto his face and positivity with it. Gar had promised never to leave him, never to abandon him like everyone else.

Promises were worthless.]

Yeah, but I'm faster than sound itself, so I can handle it. I don't even need to sleep more than four hours a night usually. So I do bookkeeping at night. Fuck, Billy would so mock me for how businessy I am.

[Terra wasn't sure four hours a night of sleep were enough, but he wasn't going to argue the point. Everyone lived life their own way, he'd learned that time after time back home with all of his world hopping.]

But, you have to do book keeping if you're running a business, right?

[He'd heard about that from Huey, Dewey and Louie, especially when they talked about their Uncle Scrooge and his bistro and theatre in a world called Twilight Town.]

[It's enough for his biology. He's not exactly fully human.]

Yep. But I'm not really the business sort. It just sorta... happened. And I can't stop now. I can't let the kids down.

Would handing something like that over to someone else help you out?

[Not that Terra knew anything, but he was sure someone here would know.]

I'm not giving my kids over to a stranger. I mean, help isn't bad, but I'm not abandoning them.

[He's definitely fucked up understanding that. But he's definitely sharp of tone]

[Terra shook his head because he can totally understand the protectiveness. He did that with Ven, going so far as to go up against Master Eraqus in order to keep Ven safe.]

I'm not asking you to give them to anyone. I was talking about the books, teaching someone how they work until they can handle it on their own.

But it's okay if you don't, you do things your own way.

Man, I barely understand how it works. I could hire a proper accountant, but money I give someone with a specialized skill is money I'm not putting to help the kids.

[Which he was So not chill with.]

I'm just surprised you don't already know someone who runs a business or knows how to balance books with how long you've been here.

[Especially since in Terra's eyes Tommy was pretty approachable and friendly. Undoubtedly he was popular, even if the guy was just a hero in the kids' eyes. Still, he shrugged and kept moving forward.]

People know people who know things. At least that's just what I think.

I don't know a lot of people like us who have their own businesses. Which is part of the difference. People like us don't have to pay for where we live, which is part of what I need.

[Terra was silent for a moment as he kept his blue eyes trained on the road ahead.]

I still hope you find somebody though.

Me too. We need more help, and with Gar gone, I've lost some.

[And Billy too. Shit, he hated being alone like this.]

Sure sounds like it.

[He paused, and looked over at Tommy with sincere blue eyes.]

I'm sorry that you lost someone.

Lost a lot of people.

[And it's as simple as that. He doesn't want to talk about it. Doesn't want to hurt.]

[He too knew loss, but he didn't push the subject. Losing one person was hurtful enough and here Tommy was saying that he lost a lot. And Terra did recall that the other had stated he just lost his boyfriend. That had to really hurt, so trying to be positive that someone might come back would more than likely be unwelcome. After all, Namine wasn't here.]

I guess we'll just focus on what's ahead then.

[Which meant their current Academy quest.]

Yep. And I'm not seeing Betsy, so why don't you kick the chocobo into a gallop or whatever? I'll keep up./

[He looked over at Tommy for a moment and then mounted the chocobo.]

You sure you don't want to ride too?

[Terra figured the answer would be no, but it was polite to ask.]

I'm faster than the chocobo, and more agile. It's a waste to have me up there.

Okay, we'll go together then.

[That was the only answer he gave before he steered his mount in the direction of the Academy and got it going at a light pace. Terra didn't want to overexert it considering there was going to be a return trip.]
