First ๐ Lost without Direction [Open]
Who; Princess Luna & You!!!
What; Trying to be brave.
Where; Around the city.
When; April 17th - 23rd.
Warnings; MAX CUTNESS
17th - House of Solace Orphanage
A small figure stood outside of the Orphanage with a steady frown pointed at the large building. She understood what it meant but denial crept through her little body like a snake. She wasn't an orphan. Her mother and father were alive but it didn't matter in this kingdom because her family wasn't here with her. She was alone and it was something that she wasn't able to get used to. It'd been two days since she'd first arrived and her loneliness only grew with each passing hour.
The nights were the worst. She didn't want to return to the orphanage where she was forced to try and sleep while unsettling thoughts plagued her. Perhaps she's cursed like her mother. She'd been told that this world wasn't a curse but what else could it be called.
Luna sighed softly before turning away from the Orphanage and walking down the street. When she grew hungry she'd have to return but for now, she was going to avoid the daunting building. Her shoes were a little too big, borrowed from Mono, and every few steps she tripped before regaining her footing once more.
She had no idea where to go or what to do.
20th - Nightime Storm
The nights were the worst and the sudden storm made it unbearable. Luna had hidden under her bed with a blanket over her head for the first hour but she could still hear the rumble and see the bright flashes of light through the nearby window. She cried silently making her throat ache for the voice that she'd lost. She wanted to call someone to come save her but no one could hear her cries.
She thought of her twin brother and knew that he'd have been there with her, holding her to protect her from the angry god that cried out for justice. Sole wasn't with her. It was time for her to be brave.
Luna gathered her blanket and wandered out into the rain. It was difficult to see but she'd been to Mono's home when he'd given her a pair of shoes and she was positive that she knew the way. The wind battered at her tiny form and if she'd been any taller then she would have blown away but she stood strong with her tiny fingers clinging desperately to the blanket wrapped around her shoulders.
Her steps stumbled to a stop when she spotted a figure in the distance. She couldn't make out what it was but stopped, falling to the ground as fear froze her tiny limbs.
23rd - Midday Songs
Her time in the city had been stressful and not without incident but there were calm moments too. In between the hours she found herself looking up at the sky with a thoughtful gaze. Was the storm truly over or was this a lull. Luna had never liked stormy weather and the castle she'd once lived in did nothing to define the noise. It was for this reason that she'd first begun to learn how to play the harp.
The small lyre that she'd been given from Llyewelln sat on her tiny legs as she carefully plucked the cords. The notes were a little different but the strings were the same.
Luna sat on a random street corner and began to gently pluck the lullaby that her mother used to sing to her. It wasn't overly complicated and even when she fumbled she was able to recover and recall the remainder of the song. It was far from perfect and she played one of the sets twice having forgotten what had come next but it was a lovely song. If it wasn't for the frown and slow draw of her fingers it might have sounded happy.

This was someone who wanted to help her.
She pushed herself up to her feet, her legs trembling under the weight of the water that threatened to pull her back to the cobbled street. Her lips moved as if she was speaking but her words were silent. When Luna knew it was hopeless she shook her head from left to right.
It was terrifying and she didn't know what to do. She wanted to believe in this stranger but no one could control the weather.
Luna looked up at Illyana and mouthed a word slowly. 'help'

"Take my hand," she said more gently than she'd have spoken to any other. In the same breath she knelt down on the ground so she was at eye level to the small girl. It'd always comforted her when Ororo had done this back in Limbo when Illyana had been young. "I can take us out of the rain, then we won't have to hear it." All she could do now was hope the girl trusted her enough to take it of her own accord. If not then maybe she could just teleport them out anyway.

The moment that Illyana held out her hand was all the permission that Luna needed. The princess reached forward and wrapped her arms around Illyana's waist. It was a loose hold because her arms were weak but she clung onto her savior with as much strength as she could muster.

The lounge probably wasn't the best choice, but it was the first thing she thought of. The teleportation was quick, it happened within a second, and left behind the faint smell of sulfur. At the very least it was dry inside and the common room had places to sit and blankets.
"There. This is the common room of the building I was assigned. I'm not sure where you go," mostly because she just didn't pay attention to new arrivals or where they'd be housed. Or others in general unless she decided she cared.

She looked up at Illyana and frowned as confusion filled her features. She had no idea where she was but she knew where she had come from, the place that she didn't want to return too, and she'd learned how to spell it after reading the sign over and over again.
The young princess leaned forward and gently began to trace a watery word on the floor. 'Orphanage'. When she was done she looked back up at Illyana to see if her word made sense to her brave hero.

"Is that where you'd like to go? I can take us there."

She stared up at Illyana with big brown pleading eyes.
Please don't send her back there.

"When I was your age I lived with many others in a shared house. It was loud, but my brother was there." So it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Luna leaned forward and took a bit of water to write out on the wooden floor. 'I miss others.' She looked up and then continued to draw out more, using some of the water dripping from her hair to add to her watery ink pool. 'Lonely. Quiet. Not good.'
It was really hard to write complete sentences with water and Luna was getting annoyed that she couldn't write properly.

"Here, you can write with this," she wanted to say something more, something comforting, but she was awkward about it. "I ...understand being lonely. I was often lonely in Limbo." That was not something she would usually admit. "There are a few other young people here, perhaps you can play with them."

Luna reached for the notepad and pen, carefully placing the paper on a dry area of the floor to write. It took a bit of moving since she'd been leaving a trail of water in her wake.
'I play with Mono. He doesn't live in the orphanage.' She looked up at Illyana and smiled. It was easy for her to see how hard the woman tried to smile and comfort her. It wasn't very good but there was no hate in her eyes.
