Welcome to the Carnival
A MULTI-DAY AND MULTI-NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT EXTRAVAGANZA!
That is precisely how the advertising banners draw the curious in to the circus complex outside the city, and they do not disappoint. Visitors will be welcomed and told to enjoy themselves, thanked for their patronage, and even given a welcome gift: a small, folding mirror in a box as a door prize. Along with the mirror is a hand-written note in silver ink, written in elegant script.
If you use me before sleep, you will certainly dream of what might have been!
Visitors to the grounds anytime of the day or night will be drawn in by the colorful lights and whimsical sounds of the carnival that dominates both the park and the Circus itself. There are fair rides on the midway. Yes, that's right. Actual, honest to goodness rides. Some are probably familiar, which others are completely alien. There is a Ferris wheel, a haunted house, a house of mirrors to name a few, as well as whatever you as players may want to dream up. If riding fair rides isn't your style, there is an entire shopping district of craftsman hawking wares, food galor to be found (ranging from exotic meals to typical carnival food) as well as enough alcohol to keep everyone well and truly intoxicated for their stay at the carnival.
There is an entire galley of carnival games as well, if winning that special someone an stuffed animal or new pet (think a brand new goldfish) is more your style. You can show off your skills in the shooting range, try to land rings around moving poles, try to guess the number of marbles in one very large jar, and anything else you're welcome to dream up! It seems the visiting clerks here like to change their games up, so now two trips to the galley of games will ever be the same!
The caller outside the sideshow might try to entice visitors in to his gallery of oddities and here things get very interesting. It seems something like a zoo, or a freak show if you want to call it that (and it may make some players and characters uncomfortable). There are creatures in residence from any number of worlds, be their your own or creatures (or races) pulled from other media. The features of the sideshow also seem to change every time it's visited. You may want to go back several times to see if you can share something you've seen with someone else. You might even be successful!

THE MAIN EVENT
Over the several days of the carnival, there are regularly scheduled showed, either in open-air stages or under Big Tops, and they range from magic shows (that use real magic), or stunt demonstrations (that even use motorcycles, which is odd. Has anyone ever seen a motorcyle around here?) to wild animal acts, acrobats, and even clown shows! The tend to change, any they're repeated regularly so you're sure to see something you came to see! There's no limit to the number of times a show can be seen, either, so bring your friends!
DON'T FORGET THE FOOD

However, Jacob's offer after giving him a kiss to his forehead made him a little fluttery. "A prize?" Sure he was going with his boyfriend to go get in line but he was puzzled and let his mind work on that to keep it off of being nervous.
no subject
"It doesn't have to be cute. If you aren't into cute things." He thought that Yuki was cute but he didn't see many cute things in Yuki's apartment, so he didn't think that he'd like something frilly. Maybe they could find a weird looking monster doll or something along those lines.
Either way, Yuki would have to choose something. Jacob was good enough at carnival games to win whatever Yuki wanted.
no subject
One thing at a time.
He let out a small laugh about not being into cute things. "I'm already into cute things since I have you here trying to win me something." As if that would win his heart which had already been done. So ya.
But his mind raced as they moved up in line and were just about the next ones to get on the ride. "I guess a small tiger would be enough. If we can find one that is."
no subject
The line wasn't very long and they were soon stepping onto the wooden platform that eventually guided them towards the Ferris Wheel seats. Jacob wasn't worried though carnival rides never looked like they were in good shape. Worse that would happen was that they'd get stuck and if that was the case they could just climb down.
When it was their turn he held out a hand to Yuki to help him into the seat with a grin. He was purposely trying to be cute now.
no subject
"Yes."
But soon enough he was almost forgetting his nervousness because he saw that hand out. It was such a comforting thing in his mind and it was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. So he took Jacob's hand. Everything was alright, his boyfriend was here with him.

In the next moment, the ride began and then moved forward and upwards to see over the impressive carnival landscape.
Heights didn't scare Jake but falling did and before he could calm himself he pulled Yuki close to his side. He felt big when he was close to Yuki as if he could swallow the sweet boy whole. Jake leaned his head against Yuki's and spoke just loud enough to be heard. "What do you think?"
no subject
Yuki was half terrified but he tried to relax and enjoy the view, even when he realized that they were pretty high up. As he tried to focus, Jacob pulled him closer and he smiled at his handsome companion.
This kept his mind off of how high up they were so that was a bonus.
"It's really beautiful up here."
no subject
Jacob leaned his head against Yuki's and smiled, enjoying the fleeting moment. "I think so too. If you get nervous, just look at me." Heights were tricky because the ride made them feel like they could fall in an instant though Jake knew that it wasn't likely with the metal bars holding them in place.
Fear didn't always take logic into account.
no subject
"Do they have these a lot where you're from?" Again the questions kept his mind off of everything else, even if a certain part of the city had grabbed his attention. That would definitely have to wait until he was firmly back down on the ground.
no subject
"This is the first time I've ridden a Ferris Wheel." As he spoke the wheel stopped and another group was getting off and on. They had been around once and Jacob guessed that they'd circle a total of 3 times before the ride was over.
"Are you not used to rides like these?"
no subject
He smiled as the ride came to a halt and realized what was going on so there wasn't any panic in his tone as he shook his head. "No. My curse didn't break until shortly before I came here, so even if I did, it would be asking for trouble than I already was by attending a co-ed school against the wishes of my parents."
More like his mother and Akito but he didn't want to get into that until he had to.

The ride lurched forward again and Jake laughed as their kiss broke.
"We'll have to wait for the ride to pause again before we can continue." They had a few more stops before they had to get off and what better place to make out with your boyfriend than a Ferris Wheel.
no subject
That sacred moment was soon interrupted by the ride but he managed to laugh it off at this point. "And how exactly would you plan on not allowing the boys near me?" As it was he had to fend the girls off with their crazed idea of him being a Prince.
But that wasn't important right now and he nodded, and tucked a bit of hair behind his ear as he felt a blush creeping up on his face with the thought of them making out more.
no subject
He didn't like rude people. They generally pissed him off.
The ride stopped again and Jake gently captured Yuki's mouth. The kiss started slow but became more eager before once again being interrupted by the sudden motion of the Ferris Wheel.
no subject
But then he found himself being kissed again and he felt shy about it even if no one was looking into their car nor would anyone probably give one fuck. So when they were interrupted again, he laughed breathily. "We should probably wait until we get off the ride."
Because being interrupted pissed him off.
no subject
He rolled his eyes at Yuki's suggestion and looked as if waiting was going to be the absolute worst thing ever. "Looks like we're almost off." Two more stops and then it was their turn to leave the Ferris Wheel. Jacob didn't remember a great deal of the ride but he remembered Yuki's face as they kissed.
"Do you want to go somewhere to make out or look at the games?" It was getting a little late but Jacob was comfortable with staying up late if it meant spending time with Yuki.
no subject
As he would at meeting the rest of the Sohmas except maybe two, with those being Momiji and Kisa. He blushed at the question about making out and felt like his voice had gotten locked away at all of those kisses before they got off of the ride.
Should he go with his bold mental suggestion of Jacob staying with him to do the make out thing? "Uh well we're here, we can check out the games if you want."
Yuki would give anything to have the right answer here.
no subject
Once they arrived towards the strip of games he looked between the stalls and Yuki. Jake was sure he could win any of them so it all depended on what Yuki liked. He only intended to win Yuki one prize but they could play any number of games.
"See anything you like."
no subject
Yuki looked over at the games and wasn't sure where to start. Sure he was the one who decided they should do this, but when he heard the question, he smiled at his other half. "Yes I do."
Of course he meant Jacob himself but there was no reason to give voice to it because then the other most certainly would drag him somewhere to make out. And while that was all well and good, there would've been no point to getting over here if that's all he wanted to do.
no subject
Challenge accepted.
Jake didn't break eye contact as he carefully guided them towards the edge of the festival games. "I did say that I'd win you whatever you wanted." He glanced around them before pulling Yuki against the side of one of the game tents, using his body to shield them both.
"If I'm your prize." He looked down at Yuki with a mischievous grin that dared Yuki to provoke him further. He rose one arm above Yuki's head, blocking them from view, while the other looped around his boyfriend's slender waist. "We shouldn't wait, should we?" That was Yuki's warning before Jacob's mouth pressed feverishly against his.
no subject
Suddenly he didn't have time to think and his eyes stared up into those of Jacob. This was quite the compromising position even if it was supposed to be something to shield them from prying eyes. Inwardly Yuki felt like the whole world could see them despite the other's obvious efforts.
He couldn't even think to tease the other as their mouths collided, and all he could do was whimper needily, while trying to pull the other closer.
no subject
Their kiss finally broke and Jacob grinned. "How's that for a prize?" His tone was breathless and teasing, his dark eyes glittering with warmth as he held Yuki gently against the game tent.
Hopefully, no one noticed them.
no subject
He felt a bit dazed when Jacob broke the kiss and he blinked a few times to try and bring himself back into reality. "I'll collect more later." Yuki replied a little breathlessly. This man blocked his ability to even think.
His eyes darted around and no one had seen them but he looked up at the other. "We better move before we get caught."
Or before Yuki changed his mind and grabbed Jacob by the collar to drag his sexy ass home.
no subject
Though it might be a bit too late for that.
"I did promise to win you a prize." He didn't think that he counted as a prize since Yuki was the one who won that competition. "Come on. There is a throwing game over here. I can win that." Then he'd take Yuki home and would continue where they had left off.
no subject
"That you did." he smiled. It was the only way he was not going to drag his man off because otherwise he'd never hear the end of the teasing of 'Well I was going to win you a prize at the carnival, but you dragged me home and..
"A throwing game?" he asked. This whole thing was new for him so he was determined to learn every bit of it that he could.
