Not all languages are spoken. - Open to All!
Llewellyn was rather embracing this celebration. It was a lovely idea, really... It reminded him a bit of Valentine's day in his world, but somewhat nicer in a few ways...
He'd never really taken part in his world, never having had a reason to. Even if he had... It would have been complicated and difficult to explain at best. So, maybe he was looking at it with a more positive outlook based on the fact that he could openly celebrate it and enjoy himself as he was without stress or need for secrecy.
So when the man wasn't working one of his two jobs or spending time with his husband, he was out and about.
Llewellyn was often eager to offer some thoughts or opinions to those around him. After all, he had a particular knack for languages and Floriography was a personal favourite of his.
So if someone was trying to pick something out and seemed to be uncertain of their choice, wanting something with a little more thought than simply purchasing the first thing they saw... He gently interjected with some friendly recommendations. Something for a friend? A collection of Zinnia, apple blossom, pansies, and Eucalyptus tied together with a teal chiffon ribbon. Something more romantic? Yes, Llewellyn probably had suggestions there too...
He was a meddler at heart, after all, and was very prone to trying to help nudge people in the right direction. It had worked well enough for George Crabtree in his world, so clearly he knew what he was doing...
Right? Right.
Network/Wildcard: You are also welcome to reach out to him over the network for questions too, if you think your character wouldn't approach him directly.
Get Ivy out of the corner challenge START! - Closed to Ivy
It had been a while since he’d actually seen a particular vampire friend of his around, though to be fair, that might have something to do with how he tended to get during the winter months. He wasn’t fond of how dark the evenings got, and the cold always sunk in rather deep, even with a good winter coat. Then January had been… Complicated between the crystals and Enis showing up. So he’d been more than a little distracted, and supposed they just kept missing one another around the city.
Llewellyn had rather hoped that perhaps it meant she was busy with Harry… By which, he meant busy getting closer to the man and not continuing to make herself second guess her feelings and his. Someone should probably tell him to stop nudging people like a busybody, but it was a habit… If he thought his friends could be happy, he couldn’t help but try to encourage it.
Still, he’d been meaning to call or pop in to check on her… Have her out for a coffee and a walk around to catch up.
So without much forethought, the detective crosses the courtyard between buildings and heads up the steps to the Green Apartments. Once up to the second floor, he leaned against the door frame and reached up to knock. Maybe he should have texted first, as would be polite, but he sometimes forgot those things… But at least this whole celebration had given him a good excuse to reach out to friends, of which Ivy counted as, which was why he had something tucked under his arm for her.
And it wasn't like the distance between where he stayed and here had been particularly large if she wasn't in.
Comparing one world to another - Closed to Tommy
This time of year was definitely... A hazard. Yes, the crystal rains had stopped (thank goodness) and nothing solid was raining down on them anymore... But Llewellyn wasn't particularly good on his feet.
A particular friend from the Sphere knew that very well, having given him skating lessons.
But slippery cobblestones were not the friend of a man with poor balance who tended to walk fast, especially not one who had bags of supplies (ribbons purchased from Rhy's shop for tying bouquets that he intended to make and teach people to, along with snacks and some things needed for Pretzel) under one arm and a pretzel (the food) in another hand. So more than a few people got to witness him occasionally losing his footing and needing to catch himself on a wall.
But he was “Oh- er… Pardon!” He uttered at one point, nearly sliding into someone, only to awkwardly spin a little with a wobble and an arm moving for the wall of a nearby building to halt himself again. He lost the pretzel, sadly, but his attention was more on the person he'd almost run into. It didn't take him long to recognize Tommy, his expression turning apologetic. "Tommy! Hello, always nice to run into a friend. Well- not literally, of course."
When a plan backfires - Closed to Enis
The detective wasn’t entirely sure what to make of this ‘Cherishment’ event, beyond the fact that it was clearly this world’s version of Valentine’s Day. It was February, everyone was abuzz with sentimental words and gestures... At one time, he might’ve found it a bit tiring and grown a bit despondent, but this year he was actually rather enjoying it and embracing the idea.
Llewellyn had been out and about a lot in the city, busier with helping with floral arrangements than his other work for a change. Making bouquets with various meanings based on his knowledge, depending on the person’s needs.
He was between one point and another, absentmindedly wondering if he should purchase something from that new chocolatier that had opened. He was starting to feel a bit snackish, after all... Though he was hesitant, given he’d heard that some of their selections had... odd side-effects.
One thing he hadn’t considered was that someone might have already been there, with particular plans in mind.

One thing he hadn’t considered was that someone might have already been there, with particular plans in mind.

And it was good that Llewellyn didn’t know or understand enough about how this all worked to have realized how much of a time crunch his friend might be on. Otherwise, he would probably worry more and be more of a nuisance to her on the subject.
Instead, he nodded as she responded that she felt better knowing what he knew. “Of course, I, um… I would be happy to tell you more if you need to know anything else. Well- provided I remember… I don’t always have the best memory at times, it’s why I tend to keep so many notes.” The detective responded with a little shrug. Her feeling better about all this was important, after all. He couldn’t help what he knew, and she seemed to get that… But that didn’t mean he didn’t understand how unsettling that might be.
Though a clumsy smile crossed his face as she spoke again, seemed the chocolates actually did work… Just not in the way she intended for them to. “Well… Whether you meant to say it or not, I confess I’m glad to hear it?” He popped another chocolate into his mouth and considered that for a moment. “I know it’s not the same as before, even if I sometimes find myself forgetting that- but! I um… Would like to be friends again too.”
And at least this also meant she seemed to trust him more. That might settle Rhy’s nerves to hear. The man was very displeased and worried over the original implications of the tracker she’d put in his hand.

She didn't know that death wasn't permanent.
"I noticed." Enis looked over at Llewellyn while recalling the journal that she'd read, the one that Pretzel had handed to her. She had gotten a rough idea of what the Sphere was like. "As long as there aren't any notes pertaining to my situation." If he had those notes he'd have to burn them or she will find and burn them.
"Yeah." She needed him to take things slow and she was glad that he wasn't pushing her. It was difficult for her to trust others. "You're married right? I haven't met your husband but congrats, I guess." That was something that friends said right? Enis wasn't good at this.
She thought about removing the tracker from Llewellyn's hand but in the end, she decided to leave it where it was. Her father had once implanted it into her and while she'd taken it out and deactivated it, she had kept it. Llewllyn might not be a threat but he could easily become a weakness and that wasn't okay. She'd have to keep tabs on him... just in case.

Llewellyn would absolutely be very upset if she went that far… So she could expect a very awkward conversation when she did come back, given death wasn’t permanent. Though, from what he heard, it wasn’t without some side effects that lingered for a time.
At her comment, though, he paused eating and rubbed at a cheek absentmindedly. “I don’t believe I have anything noted on paper… It was, um… not something I expected to forget.” Often times it was the odd conversation or random detail that he forgot. Usually names, meetings, friendly advice given to a friend, or spans of time that something significant had happened… and most of his early childhood. “Honestly, I tend to keep the important details to myself… It’s not my place to spread other people’s secrets.” So unless it was important that someone know, Llewellyn tended to avoid talking about some of the things he knew.
“I am!” He responded, tone a little brighter as she changed the subject. “You, um- you disappeared from the Sphere before the wedding, but we were married in April of last year, just before we were pulled from that world to this one.” He explained thoughtfully. Llewellyn hadn’t expected the congratulations, but it was sweet and he appreciated the gesture. “But thank you, we’ve been quite happy.” He snagged another chocolate, still completely unbothered by the idea that they had a secondary effect. They were darn good chocolates, after all.
“I’m sure you’ll both meet at some point down the line… We’ve been a bit busy of late, between looking for a house and this whole celebration, keeping work busy enough.” But he would be happy to introduce them again at some point. He hoped the people he cared about most to know and get along with one another.

She pinched the bridge of her nose and shooed away the uncomfortable thought. It was hard enough to try and be friends with someone who was miles ahead in their friendship.
"Let's push that off for as long as possible." She couldn't imagine talking with two Llewellyn's. "I work at a Grave Concoction. If you need anything you can find me there. I assume you still suck at using phones." Or she would have told him to call her.
no subject
At her comment about sucking at using phones, his cheeks puffed up a bit awkwardly as he wanted to say that he did not suck… But that would be a lie and even without truth telling chocolates? She would know it was a lie. “Mm… I would like to argue with you on that, but… You’re not wrong.” he gestured vaguely. “I know how to use it well enough, now… But it’s different from having a communication device in my head. I keep losing it…” He responded in an awkward tone, the end coming out in almost a mumble. “Would be nice if they had a chain like my pocket watch or something to keep it secured on my person, honestly.” He added, rubbing the side of his face lightly.
Yes. Llewellyn needed something like those phone cases on lanyards like you gave to senior citizens. Rhy did too, for that matter… They were both terrible at keeping track of the device.
no subject
She paused and looked back at her new 'friend' with a frown. "I can do that. Give me your phone for a few hours. I'll solder a chain to it." She'll just sneak into the blacksmiths place and get it done. She knew the melting temperatures of plastics and most metals, if anyone could assist him it was her. It wasn't something she'd usually offer but she thought that it was in her best interest. Maybe he'd stay her friend and not turn into a jackass if she was useful.
no subject
He blinked at her offer, having not expected her to actually have an idea of how to do exactly what he’d mused over so easily. “O-oh, wait, really?” Llewellyn questioned, moving to take out his tell-phone… Then he realized it wasn’t in the pocket that he remembered putting it in. No, he’d probably taken it out once or twice today already and shuffled it around.
What followed was a comical search as he spoke, scraps of paper escaping his pockets as he moved from one pocket to another. Eventually he located it, tugging it out and nearly losing a notebook in the process. The man fumbled a bit to catch it and tuck it away before holding the phone out to her. “If it’s not too much trouble, that would be great. Rhy worries when he can’t get a hold of me or if he doesn’t hear from me when I’m late.” So having his phone a little easier to find and secured would be very convenient. Enis might find she had a few people wanting to pay for such a handy upgrade, really.
Not that she had to worry about him staying her friend or not if she didn’t help him out like this. Something she’d have to re-learn was that once Llewellyn Watts-Maresh took a liking to someone, it was extremely difficult to get rid of him.
no subject
It was a real shame that she couldn't somehow capitalize on this.
"I will get it back to you tonight." She was going to ignore it if his husband called between now and when Enis got the chain soldered on. "You'll be at your husband's place, right?" She'll knock and leave it on the ground for him. Enis wasn't really interested in more positive confrontation. She'd need a day or two to recuperate from this encounter.
no subject
“That fast?” He asked curiously, not expecting something like that to be so easy. Then again, he realized how silly that might sound, given she had already pointed out how bad he was with technology. Either way, it was good to know he’d have it back so soon, just in case anyone did need to get a hold of him and hadn’t yet realized how hard it was to get a hold of him by tell-phone.
He ducked his head in a short nod. “Yup, I’ll be at Rhy’s apartment probably around supper hour. I’m not at the agency today, so I won’t have notes to drop off at the blue building.” He explained, confirming his whereabouts. Llewellyn was actually making more attempts these days to be home at a decent enough hour to relax and eat a proper supper with his husband instead of spending too much time getting lost in his work.
no subject
She rose to her feet and bobbed her head in a nod. "I'll drop it off there. If you hear a knock its me." She was going to drop it off but she wasn't going to wait for him to answer the door. He'd find it in a small box with a thin two foot chain attached to the back underside of the phone. There would also be a clasp on the chain for Llewellyn to affix it to himself and not lose it.
Without saying goodbye, Enis walked away.
no subject
Awkward as ever, Llewellyn blinked and offered a clumsy… “Oh- uh- goodbye, Enis!” with a short wave, but she was already on her way… So he resettled his hat and began to figure out which way to head next to get back to the shop.
