"Even ghouls maintain that trait," she paused for a second. "Humans that get infected with the vampire virus by either a pureblood." It was a brief explanation but she hoped it got the point across. Ghoul tended to be a more derogatory word for it, but then again the 'official' term wasn't much better: low-blood vampire. They were humans that hoped to gain power via the virus, some thought they'd be gifted with immortality eventually. Some were just addicted to the neurotoxins that came from a vampire's bite. It all depended.

"They make great companions. They're pretty intelligent, loyal, and being excellent hunters is a bonus "They're also good at noticing intruders. Though sometimes they mistake the pixies for intruders." Which wasn't entirely her owls fault. Most people did think of pixies as pests.

"Maybe. No way to say for certain, I suppose."
