To say that Illyana was unhappy about the current situation was almost the understatement of the century. The worst part was that she wasn't even sure what she found more irritating: the idea of her own memories being out there for someone to find or being forced to see the memories of other people. Both had their own set of problems that ultimately led to her disappearing to her own dimension far more often than not lately. Which was starting to lead to it's own unique Limbo-centric problems. Perhaps there was something to be said for it being a bad idea to just hide away from complicated emotions.

Perhaps.

Or perhaps not. It still seemed like the most viable option to her. Unfortunately, she had to come back eventually. That didn't mean she had to seek out people though. In fact, she was practically going out of her way to try to avoid them. She wasn't alone though, a few of her imps were there with her.

"If you find any crystal with a memory of mine, bring it back at once," she said sharply to one. "And if I find out you looked too long at one it'll be recorder concert for eternity. No breaks." With that she pulled the hood of her coat up and went back towards her own building.

B. Network | Audio

[ Illyana's voice is curt and cuts right to the point without any pause. ] If you find a crystal that has anything to do with me, I'll send an imp to retrieve it. Look at it too much at your own peril. I can tell you the last person to peer into my memories found herself regretting it. [ Does she sound...proud of that...? Maybe. It was kind of funny. ]

People only see things if I want them to. That is how this works. [ And how dare this place not respect that she's a sorceress supreme. It's just rude. ] What's the point of being
a sorceress supreme of a realm if you don't have perks and protections? [ There is no point really. It's pretty awful in general. ]

I'll gladly return any I found to their owners and we can all agree it did not happen. Isn't that a generous and fair deal?

[Truth be told, Jagger's still not used to the abilities of her magic, even if he is thinking about learning it. Still, he follows along as she moves through uniforms, frowning more and more as the progressed. Ultimately, he crosses his arms.]

How old were you when all this happened? [He'd known about the resurrection, she'd mentioned that before.]

[ She tilted her head and looked slightly amused as her clothes shifted back to the normal (for her) attire that she'd been wearing when he'd first arrived. ]

Six when I entered Limbo. I was...[ she twisted her expression thoughtfully for a moment ] time moves differently in Limbo. I was a teenager when I finally escaped and joined the New Mutants. I was an adult when Belasco recreated me. [ Or close enough ] Though, we are all adults now.

[He frowned, pinching the bridge of his nose.]

And the New Mutants were...a superhero squad?

One of many. We were the youngest generation. At the time.

[He shook his head, beginning to get the idea it wasn't only Limbo that was wrong with Illyana.]

And I'm guessing child labor didn't really matter to whoever thought this was a good idea?

[ She shrugged. ] Belasco took me to Limbo when I was six. His interest in me came from my mutant abilities. [ So either way something would have happened to her. ] Humans hunt our kind like a sport. One of us was killed by a human who went by the Anti-Mator. He was taken in by the Right and instead of helping them he used their technology to research a way to create anthromorphic animals that he could use for slave labor. [ A quirk of her lips ] He was insane and very interested in our teammate Wolfsbane due to her ability to shapeshift. Funny how humans look to us either to use or kill.

At least when our own kind use us they teach us as well. Then we have a chance for survival. Or at the very least, a chance to avenge those that did not. [ She smirks. ] He killed Doug instad of Wolfsbane, but I avenged him.

I think that's just people, love. We've been doing it for centuries. "How can I use this to my advantage? Oh, I can't? I guess I ought to destroy it, then."

[He winced. He wasn't judging her by any means. I couldn't understand what it was like to live like that, and honestly, he didn't want to. No one should have do, regardless of what they're capable of.]

You know, I don't think your people have the reputation of failed relationships because you've got bad luck, love.

Perhaps so. It is the same in the hell dimensions. [ So maybe everyone is precisely the same deep down. ]

And what do you think the reason is? [ She tilts her and gives a twisted little smirk. ]

We decided to create civilization a long time ago to prevent the extinction of the species, love. If we didn't have laws, we'd all run amok, taking whatever we wanted, survival of the fittest and all that.

[Maybe it was fatalistic, but that was life.]

...I think when you're focused on surviving, romance is the farthest thing from your mind for a reason.

[ She shifts awkwardly for a second. ] Growing up in Limbo will probably do that. It's never seemed a problem for the others. Everyone's dated everyone.

[asthecroweflies]

[He smiles slightly, sympathetic. ]

It's easy to date people, love. What's hard is letting them in.

[soulsword]

Ah, wise words from experience? [ She says with an edge of curiosity mixed with hesitation. Was this how normal people spoke? ]

You could say that, yeah. [He nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets and looking down for a moment.] If people aren't close, things they say don't hurt you, you know? At least that's the idea behind it. [He shrugs.] It's stupid, though. We need people.

I have heard that from many people. Though mostly from Piotr. [ Mostly her brother though. ] And Sam. He was always big on us all needing each other so that we could work better as a team.
