He wore a wool jacket with his usual work pants and loose white shirt as he slowly made his way through the streets. In Jacob's left hand was a broom, his right hand a bag. He tried not to touch the crystals but when he saw one drop to the ground he quickly swept it into the bag. There were enough memories from his life that he didn't want to share and he imagined that others felt the same. It was impossible for him to cover the entire city but any reprieve to those he has come to care about was worth it.

Of course, he had to figure out what to do with the crystals but he'd have time to sort that out. Perhaps he could drop them into the water and let them be hidden by the sea. If they were really likely they'd disappear but Jake had never considered himself lucky. If anything he was unlucky.

He could be found anywhere around the city with his broom and bag. The bag varied in size throughout the day, growing with each hour but it wasn't enough. There were crystals out there and he couldn't do anything about it.

At least he had the broom, should he meet anyone who had bad intentions towards him.

Jake really had the worst luck.

Closed to Yuki | Blue Building B-06 | Finding Memories

He wasn't sure what to think. It was a strange memory but the strangest part was how it made him feel. It wasn't bad… not exactly but it made him realize how much he didn't know Yuki and at the same time, it made him realize how little he shared with Yuki. He understood from a logical perspective but it made him feel uneasy. Things couldn't always be happy and it was these memories that were the most important; it was these memories that should be shared.

Jacob didn't know if Yuki had found any of his memories. He was sure that there were some out there but it was something that the pair should talk about. If this relationship was going to be more than skin deep…

He was scared but knew that it was important that they talk.

Jake stopped outside of Yuki's door, knowing that the young man would be home. It was dinner time but he didn't feel like he could eat. He hoped he wasn't interrupting.

Jacob's brows furrowed as a brief wave of confusion clouded his thoughts. "What happened to me?" He hadn't realize that Tommy had seen one of his memories.

This was going to become a very awkward conversation.

"Oh, I guess you saw something. What was it?" Tommy's reaction didn't give him any clue as to what in his past the other man has seen.

Shit. Tommy was terrible at this shit.

"Uh, I mean, who said I did see something? Totally didn't. It's fine."

His eyebrow raised. "I usually wait until I know someone better to call them out on their shit but you don't sound so sure." Jacob wasn't sure if he should push or if Tommy was just awkward. The other man didn't come off as awkward when they had first met but Jacob didn't really know him well enough to guess what his usual disposition is.

"It's okay if you had. I don't really care." But he still wanted to know if people saw his memories and which ones they were. It was a childish desire of his but Jacob didn't care, he wanted to know.

Wow man, that's rude. But he really does care, and he can tell.

"Man, it's just not easy to tell someone you've seen their shit at the bad points."

Jacob shrugged. "True." He didn't mind being an ass but he knew that it wasn't always the best way to get information.

"I could guess but that might get more awkward." Though he did wonder how he'd summarize some of his experiences. There was his family's murder, the hooker, the drugs, the blood... "Nevermind. That would definately be more awkward."

"Yeah," Tommy said, frowning. "I'm good at not thinking about shit, and I don't want shit to be awkward for anyone."

And it was awkward for him even knowing this shit.

"I wasn't good at it either." He scratched the back of his head. "I'm still not good at it but like everything in life, it takes practice." Jacob didn't enjoy his time in therapy but he knew that in the long run it helped. He probably shouldn't have stopped but there wasn't time for him to worry about his past or his feelings on the matter.

"You also don't have too. I don't think anyone here will make you." He certainly wasn't in a position to force Tommy.

Tommy snorts in amusement.

"Life gets awkward whether people make it that or not."

"Probably but a lot of time that is self inflicted." Jacob grinned as if he was remembering a funny joke from the past. "Anyway. I should get back to cleaning these things up. Thanks again for stopping that one from hitting me. If you find more than you want to hide or get rid of let me know. I think I'll be dropping these in the water."

Luckily they disappear but Jacob didn't know that yet.

Tommy nods. He was glad he had kept Jacob from his own painful memory.

"I'll see if I can explode these things, but I don't know if it's possible."

"That would definitely be helpful. If I find one that's yours I'll pass it on so you can test it with less backlash." Though there was a chance that Jacob might not find one since he went out of his way to avoid touching the crystals.

"Text me if you figure something out."

"Shit," Tommy says. "I hadn't thought of backlash. Shit, this all sucks. We didn't need to consider that in the Sphere."

And having to think of it here is frustrating.

"Yeah? I'm just used to backlash." He was so unlucky that there was always backlash.

"Worst comes to worst we dump them in the bay."

"That's probably not easy to handle," Tommy answered with a shrug.

"But I'll probably do that anyway."

"Just know your limits." Jacob answered with a grin. "You don't do anyone any help if you get injured trying to destroy crystals." It was a sentiment that his adopted father often used against him and he'd taken it to heart. Not that Jacob didn't get hurt but he didn't go out of his way to be reckless. He was usually reckless by accident.

"I've never known my limits. Kid of a nexus being. I don't know if I have any," Tommy admitted with a shrug.

Besides, he healed quickly.

"Let's not test it now." He paused and then added. "Maybe when we have a healer available." Death wasn't permeate in the city but it was still incredibly painful.

"A healer? That's seriously hopeful of you," Tommy sighed. He didn't believe they'd get that lucky. "I prefer not to test it at all."

Because he didn't think he could accept the consequences if he really was anywhere near his twin's level.

"Weird, I thought they had those here." He really didn't know since he tended to deal with his injuries the manly way... which meant that he just ignored them.

Jacob went back to sweeping up the nearby crystals falling to the ground. "Not is probably best." If it was really that dangerous. Since Jacob didn't know the extent of Tommy's powers he didn't think his opinion really mattered.

Yeah, super manly way. Tommy would approve. Which is how he knew it was a bad idea. But it wasn't his job to comment on that level.

"Later man," Tommy said, waving and then he was gone in the blink of an eye.
