[Network Video] - During Crystal Rain

Good evening all.

[Rhy had found a nice, comfortable place to set himself up and anyone familiar with the Red Residence should know it as one of the open spaces for residents on the first floor. Rhy had carefully set up his Tell Phone to shoot him as he sat there.]

It seems the crystal rain is not letting up. I know this has been a traumatizing event for many of us. To see the memories of another, whether pleasant or otherwise, is sometimes very weighty and awkward. I know this better than many for before I cam here, I was one of those who spent time in a place we knew as the Sphere. While we were there we were often subjected to the memories and experiences of each other.

[His face darkened for a moment. He saw so many horrible things, but he didn't know how to make people feel better at all. Though he did his best to calm himself the best he could.]

There was something I always wanted to suggest there, and it never had a chance to come to fruition. So I have done my best to achieve it here today. For those in the red building or who are willing to come to it, I have gathered some small snack foods. While you may not wish to speak of the experiences you have had or seen, especially as it may violate privacy, I have found it helps to be near others who have gone through the same thing.

[This was something he had learned by having his husband around to comfort him when he saw things.]

[Ignis had been asked by Rhy to provide snack foods and of course the advisor was more than happy to get said things set up. Even though he'd duly paid the tailor for all of his handiwork as far s the wedding went, it still made him happy to repay the man in another way and so when he was asked, he checked on Nida and had gone to the kitchen to set this all up.

He wasn't going to stay long at all, and his husband had his number. But after he'd done his errand on snacks, he couldn't help but tune in to Rhy so to speak. He'd managed to catch one of the man's memories and had no idea that the man was a king in his own country.

A king made his wedding outfit.

Has anyone showed up to come speak with you as of yet?

[Yes, he had hadn't he? Not that Rhy had intended to let anyone know that. He'd been trying his hardest to avoid it actually.]

Not yet. But that is okay. I have learned people process these things in various manners.

I suppose you're right. I highly doubt anyone would come running to discuss things that they would far much rather avoid.

[Like his husband had.]

Yes. Sometimes what we need to discuss are the things we did not expect to see.

And not many people are used to this.

[Not many people indeed. This wasn't something he'd wish on anyone. It was quite the invasion of privacy and he was more than sure most people would wan to keep their pasts to themselves.]

I could only hope they aren't.

[Rhy definitely preferred to have his own past hidden too, but he didn't suffer under believing it would anymore.]

I would hope so as well.

[He sighed]

Well in that case, I suppose it's a waiting game at this point.

Sadly so. But if people can address things for themselves in a comfortable way, I cannot judge them

It does make me wonder how many have seen which memories out there.

I wonder too, but I try not to think about it too much.

That said, the last world I was in, we often discussed it more. With each other. On something called the 'network'.

[He nodded.]

Well you've posted your words here, and it might be a small matter if anyone else decides to pick up their device and speak to you on the network here.

I suppose that's true. It's just so much that I wish I could do for others. I suppose It's in my nature.

[He can relate, so he dotes on his husband.]

Have you seen many of the crystalline memories of others?

[Perhaps it was a thing, for people like them who had money and experience in luxury to dote upon people.]

A few. I try to avoid them. Though I expect the sort that would come from me must mean that my secret is out.

[Ignis didn't want to acknowledge what he knew because he wasn't one to pry even if he had seen the crystal. Rhy's was one of the first ones he'd seen when the event started and so hadn't known what it was that had others staring at the rocks for a few moments.]

It's been a rather troublesome event.

I mean, it would be troublesome even if here wasn't memories in the crystals. They could hurt your head quite easily.

Of course. And many were carrying books over their heads so as to not get harmed.

[As he himself did.]

Yes, which does not fully protect them because there are still hands that can be hit.

That is quite true, and I did see some of the people walking around with umbrellas.

[Unfortunately Ignis was already at work by that time and his umbrella was home.]

[The way Rhy posed his question had Ignis think a moment.]

[That caught his attention.]

I take it they don't have those where you're from. But they're an accessory that you place slightly above your head when it rains so that you don't get wet.

How does one make these things?

[That question stumped him.]

Well I'm not quite sure how they're made. But I can bring mine over if you would like to study it?

I would appreciate that, yes. Thank you. If I can see it, I might be able to make one.

So I take it they don't have those in your world..

[Which was odd to think of, but then again maybe not all worlds had them.]

No. We have charms to keep the rain off.

Charms?

[Here the scholar in him is intrigued.]

That sounds rather interesting.

Of course. My world is full of magic. There are charms and enchantments for everything.

[Except for Rhy. He keeps smiling though. He hated his lack of power. Something people could well know now.]

[Things he didn't know he didn't know. But Ignis smiled all the same.]

It must very well be if you can use it to keep rain off of yourself.

It would be, if I could. I'm sure there are those who could make those charms. I am not among them.

Oh. Somehow I thought..

[And he let his voice trail off.]

Clearly you haven't seen the memories about how I'm an abnormality of my people. I was lucky in that this didn't mean I was basically discarded from the world.

No, I'm afraid I rather didn't see that memory.

[And he was glad of it. However, the last part..]

Well they couldn't really do that, could they?

[Considering he was royalty and all.]

Many people abandon children who have no flicker of magic. Those that don't, it can be hard for them to find work later in life, and so they end up living on the streets. I could have been one of them.

But that didn't happen, correct?

[It was hard for Ignis to picture such an event, but he had no reason to doubt Rhy and he didn't.]

No, it did not. My family had... a bit more ability to keep a talentless child around.

Talentless as far as magic goes I suppose you mean, correct?

[Ignis didn't think the man was talentless at all.]

Yes. I'm very talented in other fields. Politics. Design. Languages.

[But the magic was the one people cared about.]

Those are helpful, at least in other worlds.

[He knew that for a fact.]

Do you plan to use any of those talents here perchance?

I'm already a designer of fashion.

[The cheerful way he said it and the forceful look of determined pleasantness on his face said that this? This was not something to be discussed thank you. His past is that. Past.]

There is no need for additional languages here.

And you do a wonderful job, and even my husband had nothing but compliments for your handiwork at our wedding.

[Ignis understood, and just nodded.]

Then I should expect to see more of your work on others.

I am glad to hear it. I tried my best to make sure that neither of you regreted your asking me.

[And he can't say much more than that.]

[He nodded with a smile on his face.]
