Snow has fallen outside and while it's not heavy it's set just enough down to gently cover the wooden benches and ground outside. The chairs have been removed but the lanterns are still out and lit (as well as the little lights that have been replaced with more festive ones) if people want to walk around outside and have private chats among the snow, the trees and the lighting.


Potluck - Food is all around. Got a story about how the food you brought is part of a long standing family tradition? So much the better! But Ignis for his part has been researching and working on bringing the foods he's heard about. So here you'll find an appetizer platter along with a cream cheese tree, turkey, ham, his version of the Crown City roast, stuffing balls, roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables, and of course a few different desserts.

So you can find him making sure the table is decked out in christmas colours and full of food. But as he sets the last appetizer tree down on the table, he nods. "Quite glad to see that you could make it."


Trim a tree A small group of freshly cut green trees are sitting in a corner with room to go around the back. Simple lights are already in place, but there are ornaments with hooks sitting in silent invitation to decorate the tree and gather around as well as different coloured garland too.

But there's plenty of supplies and being able to decorate a tree with Nida last year was all sorts of fun as it will be again this year. So the advisor is definitely happy that nature can come inside at least temporarily.

Ignis stands back and takes a look at the trees with a satisfied sort of nod. "I suppose after the holiday, I will see about replanting it outside." Turning to his guest, there's an easy smile. "It won't do to simply throw it away do you think?"


Gift exchange - Gifts aren't required, but people are free to do so. This can be as private or as public as wished! The royal strategist is busy arranging gifts under the tree, trying to make some sense as to how they should be grouped, so he's on his knees trying to keep the order straight. As soon as someone approaches, he acknowledges their presence with a smile. "Would you mind handing me that blue wrapped gift sitting on the chair right next to you?"

"I probably would have," she said without any indication that the admission embarrassed her in the slightest. "So, I appreciate the help, regardless of the motive." Most people had ulterior motives, growing up how she had she'd learned that real fast. She'd also learned to pinpoint when those motives could be bad and his definitely didn't seem bad.

"Cold like this kinda cold?" she asked curiously as she shook her head. "I'm sure though. I can handle it!" Even though she was pretty cold. Which was probably apparent by her slight shiver. She wasn't about to take someone else's stuff though, even if they tried to claim they didn't need it.

"I'll accept the help walking inside though. It'd be pretty embarrassing to get some help only to immediately slip again."

"Yeah but windier most of the time." The snow wasn't too deep and the storm that had covered the lodge had been quick. Now that it was over the wind had calmed and the only chill was the sting of the cold. "The wind makes everything worse." It was usually disjointed and reminded the people it caught that it was cold out.

"What about you? I take it that you aren't used to snowy winters?" If she was then she might have more practice walking in the snow, of course, he could be wrong. His sister managed to trip when there was literally nothing to trip over. Some people are just clumsy.

"Does it? I guess I can see that, I don't want to think about how cold it must be to have the snowy air being blown into you," she said with a little shiver.

"Not really. At least not like this. It's kind of pretty though! In it's own way." It'd probably be a bit more enjoyable if she hadn't been such a klutz though.

"Very." He replied with a smile.

Jacob liked the cold though he knew that most people didn't. His body temperature ran a bit higher than most and he had good circulation. All of which were details about him that he knew from unfortunate situations.

His gaze moved from his lovely companion to the trees around them. "It is beautiful. I like it when the snow first falls. It's untouched and it just makes everything look peaceful, almost sleepy." He chuckles softly as they near the door to the Lodge. "Of course, that can be enjoyed from inside too."

"Sounds like it'd be a pretty thing to see while holding onto a warm cup of tea while inside," she said with a little smile. "Actually I think I could do with a warm cup of tea right now." Maybe there'd actually be some inside once they got there.

"But I can definitely see how it might be enjoyable once you get used to it."

"Yeah." Jacob knocked the snow off his boots before opening the door to the lodge. "There is some tea inside. I could show you to it if you'd like." It wasn't hard to find but Jake was a gentleman and he wouldn't leave her until he was sure that she was comfortable.

He could already hear his mom's voice in his head telling him to be good. It was an annoying tone and a painful memory.

"I hope you get used to it too." Then she could also enjoy the snow and maybe trip less.

"Thank you," she said as she walked inside and took a relieved breath. It was really nice to go into the warmth after all that. "I would appreciate you showing me to the tea! The faster I warm up the better."

She gave a quick nod. "I'm sure I will with enough time. I'm pretty adaptable."

"Then please come this way." Jacob gave her a little bow before leading her towards the table with drinks. There was both hot chocolate and tea, as well as an assortment of alcoholic beverages. "I don't know a lot about tea but there is some here." He gestured over to the tea bags and then looked back at his lovely companion.

She was nice and lovely. It made him curious though he supposed he shouldn't hover.

"I'll leave you to your tea but if you need someone to fight against the snow or ice I'll be around." He gave her a teasing wink before moving away from the drink table.

She followed him over and immediately started going through the tea bags. "There's a ton of options!" Too many almost, if there was such a thing. Maybe she was just making picking one a bit more complicated than it should be. Eventually she settled on just closing her eyes and grabbing the first one she touched.

"Thank you again!" she said with a bright smile.
